Fresh Start Friday

Post by helia »

Do not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect. -Alan Cohen

I am hoping to make a fresh start today - even though it is the end of the week! Each day, actually each moment, is a fresh opportunity for new beginnings.

Why a fresh start today? I have fallen off the wagon in several areas and can feel the gradually increasing effects on my life. I have not been tracking WW points, so I plan to go to the meeting this morning, despite the fact that I will have gained, and get a fresh start on that journey. I have not been tracking household tasks either, and the result has been increasing aimlessness in the household duties. I do pretty well keeping up with the 3 ds, but other than that, it's been pretty random.

I was going to call this "fractured Friday," since my day is pretty fractured, but I decided to go with a more uplifting and positive theme. :)

9:30 - WW; out of the house 9:15 ~ 10:15
11:30 - meet dfriend downtown for lunch; out of the house about 11:15 ~ 1:00 (she has a 1 pm hair appt.)
3 - tutoring; out of the house 2:45 ~ 5:00 - we always run late
6:30 - dh needs to be at campus location for his talk; out of the house 6:15 ~ 10 pm??

so. . my time at home will be now - 9:15, a little over an hour. Then another hour from 10:15 - 11:15. Then, 1:45 after lunch and before tutoring. I'll need to prep tutoring during this time. Then, it will be tight to get dinner before we head off to campus. So, maybe 4 -5 hours at home all day today? Oh - that was not helpful. :? Now I feel kind of unhappy about my day - though there are some fun things in it, for sure! I haven't had lunch with this dfriend for a few months.

I heard back from the orchestra mom and apparently, she has the task of putting away the concert uniforms covered - and does every year. What a relief to me! Why did the band director ping me about it then? I just need to make sure I have the band reserved uniforms pulled before the orchestra fittings on Oct. 3 and 4. . .

Off to get the a.m. routine done.

Great quote, Helia, and a nice reminder that it doesn't have to be a Monday or the first of the month to start over.

I (again) need to clean up for cleaning lady, although at least this week it is cleaning up from dinner party last night. We ran a load in the dishwasher last night, and I think dh unloaded it this morning, but the kitchen counters are otherwise littered with stuff from cooking. I read the paper quickly when I got up so I'm having coffee while I work. When I'm done w clean up, or when cleaning lady gets here, I'll take ddogs out to walk.

I need to figure out what time body work is today. I wrote it down but it never got to Google calendar. I really, really need it from being on my feet all day yesterday.

We are going to services tonight and our Israeli educator guest is going to dinner afterwards, so we'll have dinner time free to either go out or come home early.

Good morning, dear friends.

Thinking of ((Sunny)) and ((Mr. Sunny)). So glad there was a quick response and evidently quick result that made Mr. Sunny feel better. Please don't apologize for not having time for social chat here. You are always very thoughtful and we appreciate it, and we also know you have a lot on your plate.

Harmony, so glad you had some time feeling so well yesterday, and hope that is a harbinger of good future news.

Isn't it wonderful that it's Friday?

Now that our household is in the swing of Oh-Dark-Thirty alarm clock moments again, I appreciate weekends SO MUCH! Dd15 came in the bedroom this a.m. to tell me it was 15 mins until my alarm clock ringing. Sigh. Ya think she's a little bleary in the a.m.? Warm thoughts to blessed's dd in high school as well, as she had to stay up until 2 the other evening with so much homework. BTDT with teens.

Another thing I appreciate - the nudging here (from myself because I was so embarrassed to post otherwise to you) to get some Dreaded Phone Calls and Dreaded Paperwork snail mails and Dreaded Faxing accomplished through the week, so that I can stop feeling quite so overwhelmed.

Cowinkie, I'm talking about you over in H and F - you better come give a rebuttal.

Too tired to cuop. My eyes just glaze over. Did catch that Mr. Sunny is in the hospital, though.

Lights were out at 12:30. Sermon is about 2/3 done. No inspiration came to me in my sleep.

I don't think I crossed one item off my to-do list yesterday so finishing is now not a possibility. Not that it ever was a possibility.

Am regretting now choosing decaf tea this morning.

Good morning, villagers ~
We had several storms roll through town yesterday so I had to keep shutting down the computer. :(

That delayed finishing the sewing group newsletter. I'm waiting now for the editor to send me the final draft. Assuming it comes this morning, I'll take it to the printer this afternoon while I'm running errands in The Big City.

It's coffee time! :D
