FALL BEGINS SUNDAY

Yep, it's true -fall begins at 4:44pm EDT. (Do the seasons change for you today, LynnLee?)
We both tend to have super productive days but never manage to string more than a few of those together. Then we have a slug period.
Oh, I have a feeling this is true for many more of us, Kathryn & LucyLee.
The next 2 or 3 days need to be somewhat productive here since I have company coming on Wednesday -first timers -and very old friends. Guess they decided since my life has been way too busy to go there, they've decided to come to me. DGS20 is coming this afternoon after church to see if he can decipher my problem with my laptop and this site. Tomorrow is cardiac rehab first and then at 1pm dh has a cardiologist appointment. He's hoping to be able to go back to work "light duty". He has a lot he wants to accomplish around the campground before we leave -IF we leave. Well, we have to leave this spot but could be staying with DS-R until dh is released to go to FL.
Tuesday I have an appointment for a perm. Wednesday morning is cardiac rehab again and then friends come around 11am. Don't really want to fix lunch but may pick up something for a light snack.
Just cooked steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. (Always think of MT while making it). Dh will be pleased when he comes back in. (He went for a walk and obvious chatting around the pond).
Our weather was horrible yesterday too, Kathryn. Today so far it's just overcast and a tad warmer I think. Time to get breakfast, s2s and be ready for church.

Maybe I can start fresh with the start of the new season!
I have already stripped the bed -- no excuses now -- I must change sheets, etc. (Meant to do that yesterday.)
Getting in the shower...

Good morning Dee, lucylee and everyone else as you enter the village.
Today is dgd3s 4th birthday. Dm and her 2 sisters will be here late, late afternoon. On Friday dd2 decided to have her party during the evening and to also have a meal for all of us. Dh is smoking a large brisket and has been up during the night tending it. I will be taking several sides as well. Dd2 is also doing hamburgers and hot dogs for those that don't want/like brisket. Dgs9 has a game at 5:30, so we will be eating late. Her in-laws didn't want to come back to town this evening and told dd2 that they didn't need to be there for cake and gifts, they just want to spend time with her on her birthday. So they will visit this afternoon. Things have been so hectic, that dd2 and I didn't settle on a menu until late yesterday afternoon. I was too tired last night to go buy the groceries I need, so will have to do that this morning.
Dm and her sisters will spend the night here. In the morning they want to eat at IHOP before they leave, so dsisil, dd2 and I will be joining them and they will leave from there.
Guess I better hit it................

Up and about here...dh took house guest to religious school and is back home. They/we are going to market this afternoon and a concert at four p.m. and we will grill steaks back at home later. So I need to work on a.m. routine and make a trip to grocery. I have laundry going already.
-clear/wipe kitchen counters (may not be able to do completely because dh brought in stuff from Costco last night)
-clear kitchen table and breakfast bar
-make the bed
-list of what we need at store
-s2s
I think this will finish a.m. routine.

Good Autumn Morning, Villagers!
My Dsis emailed from Utah! She just moved there the 12th, from the Pacific NW. She's busy unpacking, cleaning, and forgot to give me her address, but I've got her home phone #.
DH built a fire in the insert, so it's office-door-open for me, which hopefully means the cat will stay out and it'll also warm up in the office, too. I'm afraid of the cat jumping on my desk and poking a button on my laptop. Dunno what that would do!
We're forecast to have our first Pacific storm of the season here today.
Have a GR8 day, Everybody! And Happy Autumn, again, too! May it be a nice season for the changing of leaves and good changes for us all.

Exhausted but home from service and picking up ds.
Dh got in around 12:30. He and ds loaded the wardrobe into ds's car so it could he could drop it off this afternon.
None of us slept well. All to excited or nervous. Dh says our bedroom is noisier than the hotel room (because of my snoring.) Well, I sleep better when he's traveling... so there!
Ds headed off at 7:30 and left his car at the transit station (the one where the horrific crash was) and took the bus to the race.
We left home at 8:50 and got to the church 10 minutes before anyone else arrived. The band were welcoming so we had a good time singing with them. I had fewer people this week than in the summer (10 vs 12.) The difference? In the summer I had a traditional organist and we did traditional hymns. This morning the band literally performed. Music is the source of conflict in the church and it is major. The communion table has been literally pushed to one side so the band can set up in the middle of the chancel. Even the pulpit is far off to one side and so badly positioned, I used a music stand to hold my sermon.
I did have a great wireless mike so had I been a more dynamic preacher I would have had free rein.
The service went well. Just like last time, I was challenged at the door and we had a long theological discussion about what the scripture meant. That I love. The same gentleman asked me where I regularly preached. I had to stress that I am an itinerant preacher so never know where I'll be week to week. But it was an ego boost!
Got out to the car and ds had already texted to say he finished. Almost the same time as last year, despite not training but he is much sore this year. It is cold, damp and windy so he elected not to hang around and cheer in his friends. We picked him up and brought him home to shower and eat. I'll drive him back into the city later and he'll deliver the wardrobe and then join his friends for a celebratory dinner.
I'll nap at some point!

Made a bacon and egg lunch for ds and myself, then we both had naps. He's still napping. Not sure if I am to wake him but he wanted to leave around 20 minutes ago. So I will after posting.
Haven't come up with anything for dinner yet, but will when I hit the grocery store after dropping him.
Priced out microphones like the one I used today. We can buy one to fit into our wireless mike and will do so since the over-the-ear one means the mike is always by my mouth, unlike the lapel mike. For once, Amazon.ca was cheaper than US.

Back from dropping ds at his car. Dh came with us. We stopped into the grocery store and got the fixings for his meal and mine - he'll have fetuccini and I'll have salmon with grilled vegetables.
