 So what are you thinking today? I'm thinking today is a good day to work on storm prep. after seeing the heads up on the weather channel of a triple threat so check your local weather.

I have a blanket in the car I need to put winter boots in it.
Get meds. Ahead is up today in a bit.

Saving too, yesterday I saw some cute banks the grandkids have a bank already.

Good Morning!

I'm thinking that time passes quickly. Today was LO's first time riding the school bus in the AM. He woke up and asked "Do you think I can do my cards real fast in time to ride the bus?" I was surprised by his request. I watched him with a grateful heart that he has learned to do all his morning things in a timely manner. I still select his clothes and dress him because we both likes to snuggle while we do it, but he can dress himself if need be. I listened to a song this morningon how quickly time passes.

Time seems to pass quicker the older one gets, too! I don't know how I got this old.

My thoughts are on my garden today. I've had it in the back of my mind that I am late getting it in and I need to do it, but every day something happens to take up my time until I'm too tired to tackle it. I'm a little apprehensive about doing it. It would be the most physical work I've done since I started not feeling well.

I have one more thing to do at my desk, the rest is done today including renewing a license online which took me about an hour. I must make one dpc to get that last thing done.

Sheets are drying. House is in better shape than usual. I get lots more done when DH is out working!

Good Morning All! I am thinking about all I have to do to prepare for trip to California Coast and then back to AZ for the winter. Hmmmm! Maybe I will start with tomorrow when I have to have everything prepped for the rug cleaner to come. I only move the "movable" stuff and he does the areas he can reach. I really dread carpet cleaning day- but it has been too long and really needs to be done.

We leave for Monterey and then San Jose a week from next Tuesday. We need some time with the great-grandkids because we won't be seeing them again until next April or May. DD will come to see us in AZ in February but not the grands. By the time we get back down there the "baby boy" will be walking and the "baby girl (4) will be teaching school. She loves school and wants to be the teacher.

Yesterday Mr. Guy and I got a lot done in the way of errands. We went up to Reno for most of them and had a wonderful lunch at Claim Jumper. That place is so awesome to me. Beautiful setting and great food. I had some returns to make at M acys and P enneys - got that done, plus a trip to the Bra Shop and a trip to my Derm. She sprayed some pre-cancerous places on my face (Ugh) :o but I guess you can't be too careful. She made me promise I would return every year to make sure they stay little.

We are anxious to get to AZ and see Cowinkie and Sweetie, take in some car shows and also a road trip to see the Emptynesters. We are looking forward to that. :)

Hope all is well with all of you. Have a great day!

Good morning, villagers ~

Ditto!

Today has to be better than yesterday. Yesterday morning I came downstairs to find one of the cats acting unusual, hunched over. I called the vet clinic as soon as they opened and they fit me right in. Unfortunately, they were not able to save her. Doc said he could do things that would prolong her life, but not for long, and she would be in constant pain. I couldn't do that to her so I had to let her go. I didn't tell DH until he got home from work because I didn't see any point in his day being ruined, too.

Our indoors cat family has been reduced to the remaining calico girl and gray/white boy. The outdoors cat group seems to be getting smaller, too. They are always in danger of cars on the busy street, but we are beginning to think someone may be trapping them because I read in the Tiny Town city council minutes that they recently designated an animal control officer.

Trying to cheer myself up by thinking ahead to a sewing retreat next week ....

I've been working on the library group financial files this morning, setting up for the new fiscal year. Just Emailed the September reports out in advance of tonight's meeting. There is always filing to do, but I am otherwise ready for the meeting.

Harriet ~ Did you mean to leave birthday greetings in the Planner/PocketMod thread, or were those little hidden surprises? :)

I think I just heard thunder. Yes, it is pretty dark outside. Well, alrighty then, logging off.

Sunny here, no threat of storms. It is a beautiful fall day (but warmer than usual) and I'm heading out into the countryside to do another church survey.

No word from ds today so won't expect to hear from him until tonight at the very earliest, probably tomorrow night, although there might be email tomorrow morning.

Working at the church office now.

Failed to leave b'day wishes for Sunny, here, yesterday -but did wish her a happy day!

Sometimes it's just 'hard' to get to this computer -the only place I seem to be able access this site. I no sooner shut off my laptop than I need it open for something.....like the calendar that's on the desktop.

Had bloodwork done at 7:30 this morning. Did all the usual things, Kathryn -very hard stick today. But one result is I'm spending a lot of time in the bathroom now. Drank tons of water first. Tried both arms & wrist. Finally got it. Have a feeling I may have to go back in though as there was no order for urinalysis.

Here's dh for lunch.

Has anyone had their flu shot this year? I called yesterday and made arraignments for DH, DMom and myself to get ours. LO gets the nose mist so it is a breeze for him.

DH is getting fasting bloodwork done this morning, then will follow it by a cup of coffee and then 4 shots in 2 different doctor offices.

It's times like this that I wonder why I have so many (5) computers in the house. I am doing maintenance & updates (defrag, disk check, anti-virus updates, etc etc etc) on all of them. Going from one to another..... when I finish with these, then I get to start on MPB computer

Hope to get mine tomorrow, Okay. My labs were fasting as well. I can barely make it as my blood sugar is usually low in the morning. See the Dr tomorrow. Been hard to make an appointment with all of dh's. And she's only there Wed & Fri.

Hi everyone :) .

I'm thinking that I really enjoy visiting here, but lately have only stopped by once or twice a week to cuop for that day. Not able to keep up daily like I did in the past & would like to remedy that.

Hi Nancy, a good idea to work on storm prep. On the 29th of this month it will be one year since Hurricane Sandy hit here. We will always keep kerosene, extra gas, batteries & water on hand now. No power = no fun.

Hi OKay, dh & I got our flu shots last month. I'll be in lots of crowd situations this year, including airports, so wanted all the protection I could get :) .

Hi Harmony, I don't know how I got this old, either. I'm still 20 something in my head. Sometimes I'll look in the mirror & think,"Hmmm, you look familiar, but who are you?" :) . Maybe you could do a little every day in your garden rather than try to do it all at once?

Hi Norma, what fun things to look forward to -- traveling, time with family, & visits with SHE friends :) .

(((Bookie))), I'm so sorry about your dkitty.

Hi Kathryn, hope all your church surveys are going well.

Hi Dee, sorry it took so many sticks to get your blood drawn. Ouch. Hope you & Mr Dee are doing well. Thanks for the reminder that it was Sunny's birthday.

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY to Sunny! :D

I felt like I was in limbo all this week, as I was summoned for jury duty. Very thankful my number wasn't called. I've served before, & am always concerned about getting onto a trial that involves violence. Breathed a sigh of relief every night after calling the recorded message, & did a happy dance after calling last night. I'm off the hook for three more years 8-) .

It's been so beautiful here weather wise lately. Dh & I have gotten back on track with getting up early to walk (although sometimes I still go to bed too late! ). The leaves are still very green & I always love walking this time of year & watching them change.

I started a project up on the attic table a few weeks ago but never finished it & need to get back to it so I can clear the table off. Dh put an AC in the window over the table this summer, so I could work (& play!) up there once in while when it wasn't a blazing hot day. I wonder why we never thought of that sooner?

I'm behind on my to do list so will be playing a little catch up today. Next up: fold & put away sheets, make egg salad for lunch, remove super sticky price tags from two items I bought at a flea market that are still sitting on the counter. I have a bottle of "Goo Gone" somewhere in the house but can't find it among the cleaning supplies where it should be. I'm going to try a trick I read recently, about using a hair dryer to melt the glue so it peels right off. After lunch I want to decorate for Fall.

Waving ~~~~~ to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
PS -- I saw the heading "Manor Monday" for earlier this week & loved your theme idea, Harriet, as I'm a Downton Abbey fan :) .
