Have you ever been accused of having eyes in the back of your head? Probably - you're a homemaker!

Even when we don't realize it, our households benefit because we are

anticipating,
observing,
taking notice,
heeding warning signals,
marking the time,
nipping in the bud,
and sometimes catching movement out of the corners of our eyes!

What have you been monitoring lately around your lovely home, knowing that you will keep it under control even while others may not realize there's anything to watch? What have you nipped in the bud lately?

Look out, mischief and trouble - you have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool a homemaker!

Oy vey, Harriet! I feel like everything is out of control at home these days!
Pantry
garage
MBR closet
upstairs crafty room
dkids rooms
upstairs linen closet
paper stacks
and so on.

I'm not getting anywhere on most of the above.

I'm also not doing well at planning the night before so here I am with a bunch of OMM thoughts today.

-write down omm stuff
-walk the poor (im)patient ddogs
-breakfast
-make the bed
-meds/vitamins

Good Morning!

I'm on target following timeslots this morning. Had a rocky time before LO went to school when he decided to try and act the part of a 5 year old brat. He received a firm reminder that Nana doesn't allow that behavior. All was smoothed out by the time we parted. Raising children isn't for sissies!

Well, actually, I said you were monitoring it all, not necessarily staying in control of it all, Twins' Mom! And you are - look at how quickly you can come up with your plans, plus you know exactly where you need more control. That's impressive enough! I like your first item - write down the On My Minds, don't just try to hold it in our heads. That's a reminder we all need.

Excellent nipping in the bud, OKay. What a blessing to LO.

Was thinking this morning that we haven't seen ellyphant in a while!

While I'm monitoring the laundry, listening for "the sounds of the cycles"

, I'm also monitoring a steady rain that started falling in the night.

I'm anticipating what rain means for the household on this particular day. Lawn needs it, and I can stop monitoring some dry spots. No walking to the mailbox - will need to remember that on the way in or out in the car. Dd won't be able to play flag football and will stay in the gym for her sports class, keeping her shoes clean and spirits high, since she was hoping for a dodgeball game (her team has won 2 of 2). Glad we haven't mowed in the last few days because the floor will stay cleaner. Hens will be quiet and bored today, but I need to gather eggs prompty because rain means they can get dirty if a second, wet-footed hen hops into the nest after one has laid. Rain at this time of year usually signals the end of any weather warm enough for lightweight clothes, so our closets may need attention.

I wish I could say I've been monitoring all the Desk Day and estate stuff really well. I've been keeping up, but it's embarrassing how "barely". There are DPCs today. Then, because I've been monitoring prescriptions, I know that pharmacy 2 will expect me for pick up this afternoon, and I plan to call pharmacy 1 by the end of the week. I'll tell HRH I'm monitoring this, in case he has things for me to pick up while I'm there. With errands in my monitoring sights

, I know I can add the bank as a stop and combine to save gas. Have been monitoring the gas tank, so I know, we're good.

Just find it interesting how many things come together in our brains as we plan/catalog/strategize. (We hold so much in there!)

I'm up.

Slept in because I took a melatonin. I've been taking it at night because of the trouble I had sleeping while worrying about ds. I got overtired and found I wasn't sleeping well at all, even after my major worries about him were over.

I've had breakfast and refilled the vitamin dispenser. I'm working slowly today, one item at a time but really need to do some planning an prioritize.

Choir is at 1:30 and by then I need to have picked the music for Sunday in case the church musician hasn't.

BTW: we had a great time at the birthday party and it shows in the photos that our church musician got. Some of the best of us ever. Will post a couple later today.

Good morning, villagers ~

So far this morning:
* 1st load of dishes soaking in the sink
* sorted laundry
* 1st load of laundry through washer
* breakfast
* checked Emails
* cuop
* 1st load of laundry is in the dryer
* 2nd load of laundry is in the washer
* searched for particular colors of fabrics for projects, added them to 1 of the laundry loads

This will be a super busy week as I get everything ready for me to be out of town at a sewing retreat Thursday-Sunday.

I bought the kinds of frozen dinners that DH likes. I will get all of the laundry and dishes caught up before I go, and clean the kitchen.

It isn't actually a "retreat" for me since I will be working it, but I hope to be able to do a few hours of sewing each day. I am narrowing the list of projects to take, as there's no use in hauling extra stuff up and down the stairs at the camping lodge.

Trying to decide whether or not to buy a newer sewing machine that a friend wants to sell. I've been wanting to upgrade, but had not planned to spend the money this soon. I have to call her this afternoon to see if she has sold it yet. I've been giving it several days, hoping that someone else would buy it and make the decision for me.

I am monitoring the weather so I clean the big coop and paint it.

But frist I have to boil eggs so I have a few min. To do a round. Dishes have been loaded & rinsed. Last load is in the washer now time to check them again now. I spiffed the bed covers.

I feel like Twins with things slowly spiralling out of control in the home; so much going on I really don't have much time for housecleaning. I'm barely home, some days, seemingly more and more days. . . . I am keeping up with the 3 Ds, however, and our island hot spot is not perfect but under control. However, I can see cobwebs in the corners and dust on the living room bookshelves - and dog hair on the rugs. . . .The girls did not do their vacuuming chores this weekend. They will do them today.

This is another busy week for me - but not as busy as last week, I think. I do have 2 extra meetings: moms group teaching team meeting tomorrow a.m. and then I hope to meet with potential new child care coordinator later in the week to review specifics and show her where things are at the church. Dh will be out of town for a couple days. Thursday is dd17's birthday! I can't believe my little girl will be 18!!

Today:
x Maia to the vet to be spayed; vet just called and all went well. I'll go pick her up around 3 pm
x s2s-ed
x breakfast
x a couple emails

Not much for 10:40 a.m. Maybe I did something else which I've forgotten. . .

Later today:
12:30 - Tori is being picked up. We're all glad to be going back to 2 dogs instead of 3. .
3 - pick up Maia from the vet
5 - Hebrew class
groc. store at some point
Hebrew translation work at some point
Supper will be leftovers

Off to finish the a.m. routine.

What a quiet morning in the village today! There are period that I'm feeling too busy with other stuff to do much here, then when I do have time here at home I'm either feeling overwhelmed (where to start?) or just wanting to have down time instead of solving any of these issues.

Keep thinking that in six months I won't be temple president and things will truly calm down. My email count per day will go way down, too.

I have dealt with two things from the OMM list: I found the owners manual for our sprinkler online (pretty sure we didn't receive on when we bought house) and determined the error issue appears to be wiring, not something that dh or I would feel comfortable dealing with. So texted the construction manager and suggested he have his irrigation guy check it out for us. Note that we've already left messages asking for irrigation guy to check it for us and he hasn't responded to us....

Also phone call re a temple issue - had left a phone message on Friday but just called back today. Lady I talked to has Israeli accent and was difficult to understand but I think I've got it....

Working until next TOTH on routines...BBL.

I have one load of laundry
Folded one , more to do is still in the dryer is ready. I have painted the first coat on the end of the coop glad to have that
progress trying to decide if I have time to do the other end.
I cleaned the inside of the run before I started taking a warm up up break.
