TRENDING TUESDAY

What's the trend at your house today? My trend is to keep slogging along in getting ready to close up. Haven't made much progress as yet.

Computer is still keeping company with the G eek S quad. Hoping to hear something today. Kathryn had written:
By any chance does Elizabeth have a Windows 8 computer? That seems to be Dee's problem - a setting in Windows 8 that blocks posting on this site. We are running a very old version of phpBB (and can't upgrade) so that might also be an issue. There are security issues with older versions of software and perhaps Win8 is 'helping' keep the user secure by blocking them from posting on our site.
You are probably right -except I was able to access this site for a long time & then a month or so ago no longer could. Now the issue with my computer seems to be 'software' so who knows if something happened along that line a while back. Will be interesting to see if Elizabeth also has "8". My plan is to take this small netbook in to get it upgraded/dated when the other is fixed. (My newly purchased plan has 3 computers able to be 'fixed' over 3 years) so may as well. Then if I can't get on here on the newer laptop at least I'll have this one working better I hope. How many people carry one computer to be able to access ONE site?

I will ask at B Buy if they can figure out why I can't get here and have them try it.

DD called me at 7 this morning with gd 'issues'. Will post more in J&C.

Real foggy out right now. Have the morning completed through meds & breakfast. Still have to s2s. Then think I'll try to run a lol. Laundry room closes at "10pm tonight". Well dh probably won't turn the water off up there until morning but that's the official time.

Had church council last night -with no minutes from last month but everyone took that just fine. Of course now I have double duty before we leave. Will be watching the weather pretty closely -both the eastern and western route around the time we're supposed to leave. At least we don't have to get down to FL quickly this year. Want to stop over at friends and my db/dsil's.

Better get to it and s2s.

Good Morning!

The trend in our home is TCOMOB (Taking Care of My Own Business). Focusing on what I have chosen to do. Like many of you, I have to continually evaluate my trend to try and fit too much into time available. I'm continually shuffling cards into a different time slot because I discover they fit better. When the cards are matched with location, time slot and energy level, they get done almost effortless. 64 cards completed so far today.

FYI - I have Windows 8 on two different computers (laptop and tablet). Both of them access this site with no problems. The Win 8 Laptop uses Chrome browser. The Win 8 tablet uses IE browser.

My trouble with Windows 8 is discovering it is not compatible with my printer. (Lexmark 4437). I spent a couple hours yesterday researching, downloading, installing software in Win 7 compatibility mode without any resolution. I was hoping I could use compatibility mode to "fake" the printer drivers out and make them think it was a Win 7 pc.....but they are smarter than I am. :)

Well that will teach me! This morning as I was hurrying to get the newspaper, I tripped over a raised crack in the driveway. I went flying/skidding down on all fours and I think I was arching my back to keep from planting my face/head down. Although I had on longer capri pjs, my knees are skinned up pretty bad. The palms of my hands are scuffed up but not bloody at all. Wow, those knees hurt and it is cold enough that I will need to wear jeans today. That ought to feel great having the knees of the jeans binding right where it hurts. I took A leve immediately. Yesterday the paper wasn't here at 7:30. I waited until 9:30 to call and she told me that she had just got off the phone from calling the carrier and waking him up. She said I should have a paper by noon and to call at 1 if I didn't. So this morning the paper was here before 6:30 and I was thinking as I was hurrying to get it, that the carrier must have gotten a warning and was on the ball. That was the 2nd time in less than a week that the paper was late.

Well now that I have whined to you, my dear friends, I guess I will iron something to wear and take a bath to soak the knees. I need to buy groceries this am, because once again, it is dance lesson Tuesday.

Durn computers -just when we think we might have them figured out, they have something new to swing at us. So far I've been able to use both printers (here & in FL). They both happen to be K odak but I'm sure they will be the last of that brand.

My trend, unfortunately, has been to "put off" and I'm running out of time to do that and could find myself rushing at the tail end and creating more messes. I really want to leave our RV so it's hubby ready in the spring. That also means making notes of where I put things so dh can find them again come April.

Need to get off of here and get my trend going -in a good direction!

In spite of all my procrastination I finished the tax return yesterday. Need to scan the signed form and email back so they can efile it today - must remember!

I slept in until 8:30 - seems like the first time in forever that I could sleep in w/o anything on my mind.

Need to get moving soon....

(((Lilac)))) OUCH!!

After months of unsuccessfully trying to get LO to wear shorts during the hot weather, he decided on Saturday that he wanted to wear shorts. He wore them a few hours, but his desire didn't last long though. He changed his mind when he was helping Papa cut some weeds down in bar ditch. LO walked back to the house to exchange the shorts for jeans. He didn't like walking through pasture grass with bare legs.

Yesterday LO tore the leather toe of his boots. **VBSigh** boot shopping just went to the top of the "need to buy" list. Hopefully his boots will make it until we get an opportunity to go shopping. Duct taping the flopping leather sole to the boot is not an option I want to choose.

The north wind was cool this morning (53 degrees). LO and I turned out backs to the wind and jumped up/down to generate some body heat while waiting for the bus to arrive.

Pot of beans are simmering on stove top.
Timer for hard boiled eggs just went off. They are ready to cool down now.

NO competition between us! I only compete with myself. We each have our unique challenges and focus so there is no way to compare them. Beside no one is as sidetracked to need breaking their cards down like I have to. It works for me, but anyone else would probably find it a crazy system.

HUM.....Hoping I didn't mess up. I just scheduled LO with dentist and doctor (flu mist) in the same hour on Thursday. The offices are only about a mile apart so I hope it will work okay. The dentist appt is at 10:00 and his nasal mist time slot is between 10 and 11:00. It should work as long as the dentist office isn't running behind.

Thinking.....combining other activities. Tomorrow LO class is going to big city zoo. The big city has better boot shopping places than our local towns. Not sure I want to tackle shopping in the big city after spending hours walking through the zoo with multiple kiddos under my care......but the location would be perfect for combining both activities. hum......thinking upon this possibility
