Monday Mix and Match

Our days consist of so many distinct parts!

Still, we manage to combine them in harmonious and interesting ways. 8-)

We match errands to travel directions.
We mix seasonal or on-hand items into our menus. :)
We match past years' clothing to new items to be frugal.
We mix creative problem solving into just about every hour of our days! 8-)

How cool is that?

Love it, Harriet! Right now I find my mind going with "What IF we have to stay here a while? I have very little in winter wear" -so I will really have to figure the mix/match if we have to stay very long. Hopefully dh's blood work today will show a 'fluke'. Meantime I have to make an appointment with his primary doctor for tonight. AND we have an appointment at 6 for pictures at church. If need be I will cancel that and we'll figure things out from there. Just another little bump in the road.

Had the best night's sleep I've had in weeks. I slept from probably 11-5:30. Don't even remember coughing during the night. Of course I had taken ben adryl and was still sleeping in the recliner. Dh slept extra long too. Nice to feel rested. Coughed some this morning but not like I have.

We're going to cardiac rehab in about 20 minutes, then across the street to get dh's lab requisition, then back to the same building for lab work. Dr. should have it by the time we see him. Dh's cardiologist was quite concerned that he may very well have internal bleeding -but from what we have no clue. He has no symptoms for that. The only 'thinner' he takes now is 325mg aspirin & I checked for the dr to make sure it was coated. And it is.

Off to grab some breakfast. May be unconventional -like a piece of apple pie. Best baker in town made it for the bake sale at our smorgasbord. She came up to me later to tell me she was afraid there might not be enough sugar in it. All the better for me -it's actually just a shade on the tart side & is perfect. I can't eat when it's too sweet. Tata for now.

Good morning! Girls just left - quite late. Dd18 was running late after apparently going back to sleep after her alarm went off. . .Not happy here. Now, all 3 girls will be late to school.

I do have a mix and match sort of day in terms of the things I want to accomplish! In fact, I feel I have a mix and match sort of life in general this fall with and eclectic array of responsibilities.

Sleep is good, Dee! Hope the rehab appt. is good as well.

Today's goals:
- a.m. routine
- van to car wash; the weather should be nice and I want to get this done before the cold sets in for real
- groc. store
- Hebrew translation
- Hebrew class
- catch up on laundry

dh should be back in town early this afternoon but is going straight from the airport to his office, I believe. He will be so exhausted today after the whirlwind trip to Dallas and then NL. (Left Friday a.m.)

I created a doodle and sent it out last night for next moms group steering comm. meeting. It looks promising for some mornings later this month! My first attempt to schedule this resulted in few responses (6) and of those who responded, only 3 women were able to meet at the same time - for only one time slot. And one of those women was a maybe.

Dd15 has an especially heavy week at school this week with 2 projects due, several quizzes, one exam (or 2?) as well, and larger than usual weekly history assignment. And appolication for local Univ. honors band audition is due Friday - as are dd18's early action apps. . . .

Off I go!

 helia! Oh, I hope the girls' day starts going smoothly for them.

Dee, a good-sleeping night bodes well for the day! Hope you both keep feeling well and get good news.

Anybody need a fresh start as much as I do? I'm actually grateful it's Monday and I can think in terms of a new week.

Maybe we need to mix things up a bit, have an "attitude adjustment" and set our sights on some goals.

Ivy's post last night got me to thinking about how we try to match our plans to future needs. Got to agree with her that a plan for feeling fit becomes important as we look at the calendar right now. There will be a lot that others will hope we can join/do/accomplish, and some of it may take more effort than they realize! But of course to see the most hopeful face, with the most anticipation shining, we look in the mirror! :D Can't let her down! So I'm with Ivy on the shape-up wagon right now.

Ivy, what if you planned a pleasant stop for a meal at the halfway mark of the trip? Stretching, then a completely different seat for a while.

lucylee, I had the two oldest boys7,5 from their wake-up before 8 Saturday, when I took over for dd15 who had been on the off-again-on-again night shift. She fell back asleep! Then my green-eyed boy2 added to the mix at 8:30 and dd33 and dsonil didn't arrive as "point men" for another couple hours, when thankfully HRH could be fascinating to little britches3 and I could even have breakfast! At the first festival, we walked and walked and walked.

My green-eyed boy was too suspicious of the new-to-him stroller to sit in it! Somebody had to carry him a lot of the time because he will just wander off, of course. Wow. I was SO glad to see his Daddy walking up the trail to join us after a 6-hour span, full of energy for speedy (and sometimes airborne) aerobics with his son! Then it was just the 3 boys and I was SO glad they had won that trophy and gotten their picture made while their clothes were still clean! If I hadn't known dd33 was just as bone-tired as I was, I wouldn't have agreed to the second festival and hayride at all. But she is still trying to hang on to superwoman mode as long as she can and get in these photo ops and experiences for the boys' sakes.

Good morning. Had a lousy sleep and don't know why. It must have been all I ate because I was such a happy person after such a great day yesterday so it wasn't emotions.

I'm up but still have to bike and s2s. The bedroom is tidied and my clothes for today are laid out.

About Amazon: one of the things we add to orders to get to the minimum is batteries. Dh needs specialty batteries for his guitar tuner so we have a supply now.

I will be battling "I have all day" syndrome today. In theory, it is free except:

1. Choir Practice
2. Dd and dsil arriving
3. I have to do banking so that's a 10 - 15 minute drive each way depending on the bank.
4. I have to drop off the arthritis canvassing kit tonight after 7.

In between that I have to:

1. Call my senior friend's children's store and ask if they have boxes for moving. (They run a little convenience store and the local liquor store outlet.)
2. Finish the service for Sunday
3. Process the mail and pay any other bills I have lost track of.

But first, ds is off the bike now so I will get moving on that.

Monday! I'm getting my usual late start to the day. OTOH, I've got all day and then some because dh bowls tonight and gets home late.

Yesterday dh and I went to the market, then picked up dog food and walked through Tar-jay, then a trip to Lowes. No flats of pansies there so I will need to go to plant nursery for those. We just relaxed and hung out the rest of the day. I was in a funk over another temple issue - an ugly email to the rabbi from a guy who is a perpetual thorn in my side. He is disrespectful and just plain mean in private, but is all positive quotes and sunshine on Facebook. Grrrr. If only people knew.

Going to read the paper then I'll get moving. Planning to mix and match routines and desk day today...

Good Morning!

It's the typical Monday for me. Trying to slide back into my timeslot routine. I'm hitting it at about 50% so far. Plenty of room for improvement, but I'm giving myself a POTB for making an effort. :)

I made GREAT progress during today's CFO focus. Brought a Credit card account up-to-date (was 9 months behind) and matched to the penny. I still need to go through and mark all the tax related charges, but that will be a task for the next CFO timeslot.

Next up -
** Home loving - Dailies. if time left then
** Home loving - weeklies

Mixing things up here. H. Had to take the car today the truck would not start glad I did the store run last night.
Dgd is at the other granny's as she has apt. And I have Wed. Hoping the car is avilable by then for me if not dd will have to make other arrangements for car pool of dgd. The baby was supposed to be here but has not arrived so the dad must have made other arrangements so I may have the day off.

I got up a bit early with a low I've had breakfast.

Back from rehab. Dh's last session is on Wednesday and then we have a meeting to go over what he's do from that point on. Had new lab work done for CBC and we have an appointment with primary dr at 8:30 tonight. Office called me back to see if we wanted to take a 6pm cancellation. Unfortunately we have church pictures at 6pm sharp.

While I was waiting another guy called to see if dh could winterize their camper at 5 today instead of tomorrow (it's supposed to get down to 26 tonight). Told him that wouldn't work -so we moved it up to 3:30. That was fine with dh. He was a little disgruntled as dcampowner decided he wanted another site 'prepped' this week. Dh's words: "As if I didn't already have enough to do this week!". But this too shall pass. He was (till then) again aiming to leave on Friday. I reminded him that all these things have a way of working out & he humbly agreed.

Still trying to decide which way we're going. Looking at tour books to see if there's anything we'd like to see on the "eastern" route.

I'm still 'hoping' dr's office will call this afternoon to tell me that dh's lab work Wed. was a 'fluke'. Would be nice. He also noticed something new last night on his right abdomen. Seems to be a large lump that feels like liquid under the skin. Told him to be sure the dr checks it out tonight. Of course a 1,000 things have run through my mind that this sudden change in blood count & corpuscle size could mean. Sometimes we know too little about too much.

Harriet, It only takes about 1 hour or a bit over to get to Dson's. It's by freeway, so getting off to eat and getting back on would mess things up. We're leaving in the morning, too, so we'll be there by 10 a.m. If I walk around and stretch while I'm there, I'll be fine. It's after we get home that it sets in, but once at home, I relax more, stretch, move around some more and/or put my feet up. I just take it easier the next day, with stretching, and slow moving. So I'll be okay. It's worth going. Sometimes we stop at a restaurant on the way home.

DH got up at 6:30 a.m., fixed the fire, couldn't sleep, was "noisy", when I'm trying to sleep! Anyway, I managed to get some more rest in, which is great, but I keep yawning. :|

Waving hello to Everybody! I need coffee. Am about to fall asleep over the keyboard.

I mix it up by crocheting and watching TV and the birds and cat.
OR by setting my timer for walking and end up taking things from one room to the other to put things away, to kill 2 birds with one stone.
