This morning I woke to my FB posts being filled with excitement about last night CMA awards. GEORGE!!! GEORGE!!!! (if your not a country music fan this will make no sense)

That got me to wondering - if you were limited to only picking ONE favorite singer (alive), who would it be? And if able - please share your favorite song/album they sang.

Laughing at myself.....I can't answer my own question!

I love listening to Josh Groban with my favorite song of his being You lift me up.
But I can't say he is my favorite singer because I get tired of listening to him.

I like fast music with a good beat - music to get my toe a tapping and my body moving.
Right this moment I am listening to a playlist of music that was put together from the 40 day to joy filled life. I haven't found a singer/song that I don't like on that list.

ARGH!!! BUT that doesn't answer my own question above. The fact is .........I can't pick one favorite singer!

** LO to school - today is his snack day so I will need to deliver the food/drinks to his classroom since it is too bulky and heavy for him to carry
** MPB minimum AM chores (30 minutes)
** DMom and me to our counselor appt (hoping to fit in a quick shopping trip with her afterwards if it works out)
** MPB minimum chores (2-3 hours)
** LO home from school and working on his backlog of work.

Yesterday LO brought home a stack of papers that he missed doing in school (was home sick). ARGH! It will take hours to work through these! We made good progress with the time we had available last night. We did 5 books (he read 2 to me, I read 3 to him) plus he finished 6 pages of homework & backlog of worksheets. We will continue to work through the backlog of worksheets tonight.

Oy I am feeling slow to start this morning and I need to meet with the rabbi in less than 45 minutes. So tired....I am going to get dressed, have my oatmeal and head down there. Ddogs will have to wait.

I'm not sure I have a favorite singer. In the car I listen to an oldies station. On the road yesterday I switched to a "music of 80s, 90s and now....." station that carries further, and in ATL I tend to listen to the all news station with traffic updates through the day. And I got caught up in putting music on my ipod, etc. but now rarely listen to it.

Wondering if I should try to switch out some of Friday's stuff for today - perhaps see my dmom today instead of tomorrow and workout tomorrow. My back is very stiff this morning and muscles are more sore today than they were yesterday from Tuesday's workout.

Off to see rabbi, will be a little late.

I had longer to think about the favourite singer and decided it has to be someone with staying power and someone whose music has evolved as my tastes (and theirs) have changed. I came up with Cher. I'd never pay to see her in concert, or even go out of my way to see her on tv, but her music has taken me through my childhood, teens and young adulthood so doesn't just take me back to one time of my life.

I'm up, s2s, made a dpc (I just realized my supplemental insurance was due this month and I didn't have a bill, yikes it went up $1K because dh is now 55), made my tea and am willing myself out the door to the church office. Cereal next.

After the others were out of the way it was my turn to go. We slowly shifted over to the door and I put my legs out and around the bottom as it was shown in the [safety] video. With my legs out I put my head back and with a quick push from the tandem diver I was out of the plane.

It didn’t take too much time for the diver to right us as we fell and gave me the signal that I could put my arms out. The free fall seemed to last for a long time and I guessed it was about 60 seconds. As I fell I tried to scream with excitement but I couldn’t hear much coming out of my mouth. I tried to look around as much as possible to see as much as I could which was recommend by the packer I was talking too earlier.

The view was amazing and the feeling was sensational. After what felt like a really long time the tandem diver gave me a signal saying that he would be pulling the chute. There was a lot less whip lash then I thought that there would be. After the shoot was pulled I was able to chat with the tandem diver and we had a really interesting conversation as we floated down.

Will post just a little bit -have to make a couple of runs this morning. (Grocery & stopping at dbil's yard sale). All the while trying to stay away from smoke!! Oh, yeah! "Honey, we're home!"

It was so great to see Harriet. Sure Harmony & Kathryn will agree, she is one gracious lady! We got to that area about 6pm Sunday night after a gorgeous day of travel. In the middle of the night I got thinking about us going to NASCAR Hall of Fame & started wondering why we were planning to leave from there to come south. Realized we'd need to stop at a hotel anyway by the time we were on our way at 3 or so. So we booked our room for a second night & drove over to see Harriet & HRH. Had missed her dd15 of course, but told them we'd come back later in the day just to see her. So glad we did. She is one bubbly 15 year old -love seeing her every time!!

As it turned out I began to feel pretty badly during our tour at NASCAR, dh wasn't feeling all that well either so we finally went back to the hotel, took a nap and went back to Harriet's. High point of our trip. Sammie gave us a few chuckles as we sat chatting. DD15 had just returned from a dentist visit so it took her a while, but she did get over the novacaine!!

When dh went out to the car Tuesday morning -flat tire! Called road service but they would only put on the donut. Called vdHarriet & HRH had a recommendation for a tire place. Went there in morning traffic -can we say standstill? Somewhere in the mix the center of our hub cap came up missing. So we drove back to the hotel -notta. So still don't have that -the piece that goes over the lug nuts. Tire was fixed, put back on, donut pumped up more & replaced in the van. Had picked up a screw sometime Monday night. It was 10:09 when we left the hotel for the last time.

Dh had had another of his 'attacks' during the night Sunday night. We realized that his last one of these was last year, the 2nd night after we left camp -on our way to FL. Wondering what the common denominator is. DH thinks it's his barrett's esophagus, but I'm wondering if it's partly that and partly angina. He does push himself toward the end, no doubt about it! I drove all day Wed. & we got here about 9pm. Stopped in Ocala for a quick bite & a much needed bathroom break. Otherwise it was a very good travel day. Hit rain again in FL, but visibility wasn't bad at all.

Dh is waiting for me so think I'll mosey on out to the car. Later>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

editing to say Interesting to see Kathryn mention Cher, too - have you heard the new single "I Hope You Find It"? Dd15 needed a bio of Cher ("who is that?") from us after seeing her perform it on tv the other day (youtube is titled "Cher live performance "I Hope You Find It" " ). We were all very impressed, although dd didn't realize HOW impressed her parents were with the physical appearance, because she had no idea the singer she saw was more than 40. She questioned me about the voice, and I told her Cher had always been a natural alto, but dd still said it was interesting she kept the range so tight. (Might be because she's now 67 years old.)

Interesting to me that both Adele and Lorde also have writing credits on their most famous songs, too. I really like to learn about the songwriting - I think that's where the truly talented singers blossom.

I am waiting on a call from my dear aunt's long-time caregiver to learn how I can help today. The Morning Daily Card and school run are done well. Sensible breakfast, exercise.

Well, the phone rang and I won't be going over for a few hours, so I guess I'll change plans and look around here for the next important thing.

translation: dd15 is a chatterbox who talked Dee and Mr. DeeClutter's ears off right through the novocaine the dentist would have thought might have made a difference! Wonder where she gets that? I can't imagine.

Good morning, villagers ~

Okay, I agree with you in not having a favorite singer because it depends on my mood. For example, every weekday morning I listen to a Top40 station to keep up with the current tunes and because I enjoy the hosts. I get tired of hearing the same pop tunes, though, so the rest of the day if I have the radio on it might be motown, oldies pop (anything from 1940s-1990s), oldies hard rock, blues, jazz, big band ... and of course soon we'll have Christmas music.

Loved reading about Harriet & Dee getting together.

Today's adventures:
* Make more fudge
* Finish layout on the recipe cards (I got sidetracked yesterday looking at clip art, imagine that! )
* Lunch at the diner, to pick up their donation of paper individual serving cups for my queso dip
* Aldi for groceries
* Boring meeting tonight at the library, then hopefully at least 1 person on the event committee will stay awhile with me to start setting up tables.

Tomorrow we'll have to spend all day setting up displays, since they won't let us do any of it today.
