** shopping....yes AGAIN! I changed the location of my "need to buy this list" and it has not been a success. I am not capturing the items needed as they occur so they are not getting onto the list. Lesson learned.....return to what works!

This time tomorrow dh will be on the road to Nashville to his conference. In the meantime, I have a lot to do to get him ready to go.

It was windy yesterday, so I did not get his vehicle cleaned out or the mow/raking of leaves done. Yesterday they said the wind was to be calm today. Evidently the wind didn't hear that because now they are saying it will be windy. Regardless, it has to be done.

I did get groceries bought and dd2s new house finished yesterday. I was rather dismayed, when I seen that the contractor had left a mess in the basement. Just nails and piles of dust everywhere. Of course, it had sifted up to at least 2 levels. We have several shop vacs and I need to ask dh which one I can use, because that house will be a complete mess before they are done, if someone doesn't stay on top of it. Dh has me spoiled because when he does work around here, at the end of the day everything is vacuumed and put away. When I complained about the mess to him, he said they probably won't clean it up until they have to. Grr......

I am getting brain damaged as I work at dd2s. Twice I have smacked my head on the hanging light fixture that would hang over a table. They are going to change it because they are going to make that a sitting area instead of a dining area. The kitchen/dining area is so large that there are 2 places for table and chairs. Then as I was loading my vacuum into the SUV, I smacked my head on the raised door, that hadn't risen enough.

Anyway those 3 smacks to the head are my story and I am sticking to it, because they allowed me to get conned by 2 girls. Last night the doorbell rang and 2 girls between 10 - 12 were selling McDonald's cards. They showed me this card that said what you could get for this $10.00 card. This was a fundraiser for the Philippines relief effort. So they had me there. I came back in the house and got the money. Then I went back out and they had me sign my name, address, phone number and how many cards I wanted. Duh, I should have caught on then, because the paper I filled this out on was homemade and not professional at all. After I handed it back to them, they started walking off. I said what about my card? The one answered that they would deliver it after they turned in the money. I knew then I had been conned. It is not that I can't afford it, it is the idea that 2 girls that age even thought of this con, that really gets me.

Dm called me on her cell phone awhile ago. Her landline has so much static that you can't hear a thing. Of course, no one can go in the home to check the connection inside. She uses a Trac Fone so she will need to get another cell phone with a plan, if she can't get the landline fixed. She talks on the phone so much, that she can't afford to pay by the minute.

Well I better eat, do meds, shower and get busy...................

doc - test results explained - so glad I am not still going to other doc. He made concerns out of nothing. Though stopping taking endless paracetamol may have helped.
walked 3k
still need to try physio exercises before bed. I am looking for/to imagine a missing muscle that goes down the in side of my neck/spine. I'm not convinced I have it yet.
did manage to touch normal height clothes line with my left hand today.
doc gave me new exercises for elbows which have been giving me grief. elbows and knees have a thing happening when in use lately.

Hi everybody!

Today I need to do laundry.
I also need to do a bit of dusting and s w iffer the floors. Mike said he would vacuum the rugs. We only have 2 Chinese rugs and they are both under tables.
I would also like to get all the surfaces cleared. Mike has taken over the dining room table and the coffee table for more than a year. I can clear everything else as I dust and consolidate.

I love, love, love coming home to a clean home after we have been away.

Hens have been fed did that before the fog rolled in.

Good morning y'all...and a special Welcome to the Village to your Manateemum. So very glad you've decided to join us.

I've been busy and subbing the last few days. Last night was a performance from our drama club. Of course I stayed, so that meant I didn't get home till 8:30.

I'm up, morning routines done, doggies fed, footprints removed and kitchen is clean. It gonna be a windy day here at the desert with wind gusts up to 50 mph....then we're suppose to get rain either tonight or tomorrow. That really puts a damper on my plans as this weekend is the BIG car show Sweetie and I always go to. There are usually 3-4000 cars on display and a group of our friends will be there with their cars. Classic cars, grass fields and rain don't mix very well....

Lilac...as far as building clean ups go...I'm of the same mind set as your husband. When I used to build houses...Oh yes I did...my then husband always saved the last hour for clean up. We would sweep and vacuum...if we had electricity...and made sure everything was in its proper place for the next day. He was VERY diligent about the process. At first I didn't understand why it was needed to be done, but it didn't take long to see just what a big difference cleaning up made as we went along. Sweetie does the same thing. My brother who is also a builder and a contractor is the same way.

Today is my monthly luncheon with my retired friends. I always have a great time. Last Sat. nights gathering at my house was a great success. All the food was happily consumed and we all shared many great laughs. Just spending the evening around the table with good friends has convinced everyone that we needed to do this more often...that was the goal I had in mind...we spent 10 years working day after day together and then when we retired...two of us are still working...we all sort of drifted apart. Last Sat. night was a gentle reminder of those times.

Norma and Mr. Guy will be here in two weeks, but who's counting Let the good times begin. Sweetie and I have made reservations at a resturant for Thanksgiving dinner so that is taken care of....

Y'all were talking about fairy tales the other day...mine is Peter Pan. For the first 4 weeks of my teaching career I didn't have any materials in the classroom...I was teaching in an inner-city school. All I had was my Grimm's fairy tale book which I always took with me when I subbed. I learned through that that all kids like to be read to. So...I made up my lesson plans around the tale The Tinder Box...It had very descriptive words, blood and guts, love and lots of history. My "kids" 15-16 year olds, just loved it.

When I taught history I used fairy tales as well. Many of them were written to comment about the politics of the times. In fact Alice in Wonderland is really a sarcastic tale about the British Queen. Long ago I had an Alice in Wonderland book that had the social comments in the margins explaining what each event was referring to. Don't know where it went to...I think thats why many fairy tales seem so dark to us today. If you really want to explore some very interesting, but sometime gruesome information about your favorite fairytale just google the meaning of..... and name the fairytale. However I suggest if you really love the Disney versions of say the Little Mermaid or Sleeping Beauty...DON"T Peek.

Fairy Tales - I love them all. I can't think of one that is a special favorite. I still have my book of fairy tales my parents bought me over 70 years ago. Also, I have my first husband's fairy tale book. When our ggd was born 4 years ago her present on her first Christmas was a book of fairy tales which I hope she will have forever. Ggs will be 9 mos. old this Christmas and - guess what? - one of his gifts is a book of fairy tales. I have to laugh when I think of dgd's remark when she read the first one - "some of them are rather violent, aren't they?"

I am headed for a bone density test in a few minutes. I sure didn't want these "extra" things to do before we pack up and leave, but the new doctor insisted. He also changed my thryroid meds and I have to go get a blood draw for him in January so he can check the levels again. We lost our old doctor of 12 years when he decided to leave his practice and only administrate our community hospital. That is more to his liking. So, new doctor wants to start fresh with us.

Well, starting another week of football in the morning. Mr. Guy is a real fan and that is all that is on now. Oh Well! I have things to do!
