A thousand disappointments in the past cannot equal the power of one positive action right now. Go ahead & go for it.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try again

Good start, Okay. I'm piddling along getting ready go to Sarasota for our campground get-together at the Amish restaurant there. (I guess it's Amish) We've met there in January for a number of years. I need to get some get-well/thinking of you cards around to take with me to be signed. Will do that as soon as I'm done here. Dh has to shower yet. WE're meeting another couple in Mulberry to ride down. DD and I have Trivia tonight (If I'm not too tired).

Just got a text from DS-R. They were getting ready to leave for the hospital. His shoulder surgery is at 11 today. Wish we were up there.

Lilac -OMGoodness! :o Where is the icon for both hands on your head?

Have to get ready. Go for it, everyone. Have a GOOD day!

Nancy - I haven't seen it. The Iron Lady is the name of it?

((((Lilac))) OH my. You have such a good outlook on life. Hang in there!

The freshly baked muffins are a hit with DH. I like them too because they are low fat and filled with some good ingredients (bran, oatmeal, cinnamon, apple, pecans). I have a couple ideas I'm going to try next time I make them to improve the "healthy" aspects of them. Going to try substituting almond flour for some of the regular flour and substituting date sugar for some of the white sugar. Tweaking recipes to make them healthier is a fun challenge to me. Weird.....I know.

Talking about weird...... Having DD back in our daily life feels weird. I've been txting with her this morning. Making arrangements for DH to pick her & DGD2 up for a trip to clothes closet. DD just txt'd the address she is staying for now so DH can pick her up. Weird weird weird.....the last address took the PI three weeks to locate.

Spent an hour doing CFO cards. Baby stepping my way back to getting caught up with those cards.

Next up -
** Hour spent on home loving - daily/weekly/monthly cards
** hour spent on deep cleaning/decluttering focus area (Kitchen)

Nancy, Brooks Palmer, author of Clutter Busting Your Life had the same take on the movie as you. Impressed that the movie allows the viewer to see the struggles of Thatcher trying to let her dh's belongings go, after his death.

((Lilac and dd)) yipes, what hard decisions to make - I hope everything works out well.

Elizabeth, since I did have POA for my ddad during the last few years of his life, I know exactly what it does and doesn't do, and am shocked that they don't, unless they really haven't listened to me about his death. :? (ya kinda lose faith in their office with this much confusion, lol ) I'm thinking I could photocopy the same one the DOT required (don't feel they need to have an original) and send that along. HRH says give up on listening to what they think they want and provide what I think.

I didn't see the Iron Lady but it's interesting that the movie chronicles her struggles w letting things go.

I am at temple now. I over slept this morning and only had time to get up, get dressed and head out to meet with rabbi. The temple secretary texted me and him this morning that she was taking the morning off, still trying to get over a cold, and the rabbi wanted me to stay until she got here. He actually asked our maintenance guy if he would stay but I don't want to pay him so I am sticking around. Apparently she is nearly here.

Ah! She is here. Now to decide what to do next. I think I will go home to walk ddogs and regroup....

Last night after telling me they weren't moving, dd2 called and said she didn't know where to have the movers move the shelves from the store. When she told the kids they weren't moving, of course, they all were upset. This after not being thrilled half the time about the move. Her dh was being wishy washy all of a sudden, too. I definitely needed an emoticon with my hands pulling my hair after that. She was suppose to meet the movers at the shop at 9 and needed my help to unload the shelves. The shelves contained lots of painted samples and unpainted bisque. I met her at the shop and we unloaded shelves. By then she had talked to her dh and he was onboard with selling the new house. They will stay where they are and fix the things that needed done before they can sell it. That way if something else comes up, they can put the one they are living in, for sale immediately.

Next Wednesday the movers will move the new furniture that she bought and had delivered to the new house, to their house. Crazy stuff.

In the meantime, she has 15 days to get out of her shop. I told her that I need to get my house cleaned today and the bug guy is coming tomorrow. After that I will be available to help her with the shop. She plans to have sale to sell all the tables, displays etc. That will have to be next weekend.

So I better get to cleaning.................

Lilac: I'm considering creating a chart to track where your dd stands on moving (pun intended.) If I could create a hair-pulling icon for you, I would!

My own daughter has almost finished unpacking. Decorating touches away decisions and she needs sets of drawers for the bedroom but in the meantime, the contents of each drawer has their own box along the wall so no more piles of clothes all over the floor. I had a friend who lived years with heavy-duty fruit shipping boxes (the waxed kind) stacked on their sides as crates for her clothing. She wouldn't make do but would only buy exactly what she wanted for furniture so their home at one point had only a kitchen table and 2 easy chairs in the living spaces. If you visited, you got the chairs and they'd sit on the floor. Such a contrast to my home!

I'm up and have just finished my tea. Yesterday I bought a tea-timer from the ship. These are very special ones and when they first appeared we tried to buy one but could not. Then a lot of passengers stole them (!) and so eventually, they decided they had to sell them. It is a traditional egg-timer shape but filled with 2 liquids and the heavier one rises instead of falls, so when the top is solid blue, the tea has steeped. I'm so excited - that purchase made my day.

BTW: I spent more on clothing this month than all of 2013 (and possibly 2012 as well.) Over half of that was spent in Hawaii. I think the sea days build up an urge to shop since I can't really shop while at sea (the ship's shop has lovely, but mostly over-priced items, compared to Walmart, although things like perfume, nail polish remover and bandaids are cheaper.)

There is a wonderful lecturer on board so he's the reason I'll be dressed by 10:15. Must s2s immediately after finishing breakfast.

The sea was so calm yesterday afternoon, I took a photo. It looked like we were in a harbour. It is rougher today so I'm feeling my tummy a bit. Still 'calm' by high seas standards, though.

I think my ankles and feet are slightly less swollen. I've switched to San Pelligrino and bottled water and am trying to avoid salty foods. I'm also elevating my legs as often as practical. Slept with my feet up on a pillow last night. My feet/ankles still hurt a lot so I know I have a ways to go to get back to normal. Am slightly worried about the shoes I bought when my feet were swollen but they do have buckles across the front so I should be able to tighten them if necessary once the swelling goes down.
