I'm up late so decided rather than join in late tomorrow, I'll just start the conga party now and you can all wake up to a place to play. Plus, this way, I know I'm the only one up and no-one else is starting a thread at the same time!
I'll be crossing the date line in a few more days (after leaving Pago Pago) so then will join Lynlee, uncertain of which thread to post in.
Had a delightful dinner tonight (Thursday.) We were seated with the Ambassador and his wife. Both, naturally, are excellent conversationalists. So lots of laughter and interesting anecdotes.

Thanks for starting us off, Kathryn! The cruise sounds wonderful!
I'm looking forward to a more "normal" day here. My only meeting is tutoring late this afternoon -- and I need to leave early, like cutting the time in half in order to get dd15 to her extended synchro practice. I forgot to tell him that. . ..I think I may have coffee with dh - and I will make a run to the groc. store and figure out something small to buy for R's bday, which we're celebrating tomorrow.
Late start today for the girls - 7th hour final exam is first thing this a.m. 7th hour classes are on the decline due to budget cuts here, and none of my girls have one this semester; therefore, it is a late start for them! However, dd15 was going to get up early to go in and work on an art project. She is up early - but is working on history assignment instead. Dd18 is up too working on an art project (different class). Anyhow, the plan was for me to drive dd15 to school early this a.m., but she changed her mind last night -- and didn't tell me. So, I'm up. I can't go back to sleep once I'm up.

I'm here late too. Just did a late night mopping of the kitchen floor, using the old fashioned down on the floor method.
volunteered today, loooooong discussion.
came home for a snooze via grocery store. most needed was the snooze.
then some gardening, and walk into evening.
dinner and dishes.

I am up with a low had breakfast. Waiting on meds. A bit. Slept well it is warmer in the bed. Fighting a bit of a cold my tom and full moon has this an interesting week. I need to do the kit. And dining room floors today.
Granny duty 2 kids here at various times today. I have a pen pal letter to finish before stamps go up in price.
I have done well with after holiday stuff this Jan. Happy about that and mild temps great for the hens. H. Got more egg customers at work.

helia, I meant to send congratulations to your older dd on her news of a merit scholarship to a university she desires. Very hopeful your younger dd was able to get enough sleep this week.
Here, dd15 has been a stickler for a 9:00 bedtime even though the exams were big bad scaries. She said she could do very little at the last minute that would help anyway, and maybe more sleep would be a general help. She did find one more website she hadn't found before for practice geometry problems. Engineering was "killer" she says, a double exam of class and program, separately. I got a lot of fish oil capsules into her lately, LOL, as the most likely supplement that might make her mother feel better about her mental readiness! 
and this morning she took my advice of coffee with breakfast. Other mornings she has stayed exclusively with an Atkins daybreak "shake" to avoid too many empty carbs, but had run out of those this a.m.
She was almost late this a.m. because her Daddy's decluttering has now extended to old hard drives and he found a video of her as a baby as he tried to teach her "ears, mouth, eyes" and "wave bye-bye". We were spellbound looking at the old video of our house/family (dd-now-33 in curlers saying, "don't show ME on this video!") and time nearly got away. Also ds singing an anthem duet in church.
HRH and I were off to Tractor Supply for chicken feed after the school run. Picked up some of the Gimbels Cherry candies there - no, I have no excuse. Flannel ball caps are on sale for $4 so I insisted HRH pick up one of those. Looked at doghouses, very strong construction, roomy, but could see light through the boards of the wooden floors. To the local big-breakfast restaurant and watched the crazy California chase scene live, chatted with waitresses about beards (a usual topic when new people begin to chat with HRH - "You must have been a kid-magnet at Christmas.")

Helia - I add my congratulations to DD scholarship! It's fun to hear about the children of this village doing so well.
BRAVO to Harriet DD for making wise choices with sleep & food!
I'm following hourly schedule today. Hoping to make progress to get closer to being BITB. It's hard to be behind in every area, but energizing as I see progress being made.
Cards due today = 43

I'm actually pleased that I'm not taking mom to see attorney today about the POA. I was totally frustrated yesterday and I know she was also. I need to check in a few and see what happened with the glucose meter after dbro got the new strips.
Dcleaning lady won't be here until noon or so I haven't started clean up yet. Nothing else on calendar today except to be at temple tonight. Busy, busy day tomorrow w b'nai mitzvah, then PT for ddog and a fundraising event tomorrow night.
-straighten family room
-clear kitchen counters and breakfast bar counter
-start a lol
-clear kitchen table/desk
-throw on clothes and brush teeth

This morning I changed out the desktop background and now can't find the photo I originally used to change it back. For some reason I have it as a PDF not a photo.

Thanks Harriet and Twins!! Yes, this is UMich. Considering her issues, it would be nice to have her closer to home, and it has a very strong program in the area in which she is interested. It is a small scholarship; ds got the same one. It is a nice token for students. Since she hasn't applied to any other schools - and I think the deadlines are past or passing, I think this is where she will end up. . . . .Now, she needs to decide whether or not to dual enroll (art school + LSA), which would take her 5 years, and whether or not to apply to the honors college. Skiing friends' oldest dd is in the honors college, and they seem lukewarm about it - and he is a prof. at the Univ, in dh's dept. Dfriend A who works in student counseling at the Univ. is also somewhat lukewarm about it. It sounds good, but it seems it doesn't mean that much in the end. . . . .We'll let dd18 decide.
Good for your dd15 sticking to an early bedtime during finals, Harriet!! I'm quite sure dd15 is not getting enough sleep. But she is surprisingly cheerful and functional, not complaining one bit. She did get all her work done! No word yet on the science test, which seemed to be more difficult than some others. . . I'm glad they have a 3 day weekend; this past week has been a bear here for most family members, and it will be good for everyone to get a little break.
Had coffee with dh. Went through a few papers. Looked a little online at hotels/condos in Miami. I think we need a tour book. We have no idea what we want to see in Miami or the best location for our hotel. . ..On/near the beach seems logical, but I'm not sure dh is convinced.
Now, I'm going to hone in on the a.m. routine.
I'm tutoring at 2 instead of 3, so same amount of time -- just earlier. I guess it is good that he doesn't want to cut back the time.

This was an exciting morning as one of the lens in DH's glasses fell out. Luckily, the screw was still there. We didn't have the set of tiny screw drivers with us, so DH made the rounds of friends to see if anyone had one. Finally one did and I got it fixed. If we find one today we are going to buy 3 or 4 of them and have one in every car, house, MH, etc.
Beautiful orange sherbert sunrise this morning. Rally is over so we are on our own now. Probably will go flea market shopping. We want to get some long legged chairs as our short ones are so hard to get out of. I also want to stop by the kitchen tent and check out some non-melting spatulas. I bought cheap last time and they are all melted.
