What are you working on today?

With luck, I'll add two HUGE desks to my list of things out of the house this week. I had missed an email on Monday but they emailed again yesterday and I hope I was able to salvage the sale.

It is garbage week so I need to get a move-on and get more stuff ready to send to landfill Friday morning . As much as I'm trying to divert, we do have a lot of landfill stored in boxes and drawers in this house.

I need to get the services for Sunday finished and start on the sermons. Can't reuse the one from the morning in the afternoon because the morning is all about finding a new minister. The Holy Spirit set the Hebrew passage this week as the search for the new King among Jesse's son. A description of one of the first 'search committees'! I did preach on the gospel passage 3 years ago so will just adjust that sermon for the retirement home.

My big challenge today will be recovering wifi on my work laptop (I'm on the treadmill one right now.) When I tried to hook up the Chromecast it interfered with my wifi. I'd ask to connect to it and wifi would go away, then when I closed the window, wifi would return. Dh managed to activate the Chromecast using his phone and it was working with my laptop but when I walked away from the TV, wifi stopped and I haven't got it working since then. The Chromecast thingy broadcasts so I'm wondering if it conflicting with my wifi although it wasn't working well a few weeks ago (part of the reason I've bought a new laptop.)

Very quiet morning, both in the village and here at home!

I have some out of the house things to do today but will wait for the warmer afternoon. I am continuing with paper taming for the morning.

OMM also:
-clean out car
-review what is in Goodwill boxes in my car and drop off (Dh just put some boxes in my car last weekend, I'm -not sure they all go to the Goodwill?)
-Michaels to have an item framed
-Petsmart for Moses food
-empty the dresser in M bath and reglue drawer sliders, purge drawers while I'm at it
-call for appt to pick out new sunglasses (actually, I just need to find out when owner's wife will be there since she is so good at choosing glasses that suit me)

No progress on getting the desk out the door. I'm waiting to hear from the person with the van who will be driving the buyer here.

I started work on my bedroom. There's a bag of garbage already, a small box to give away and I've started to pack a larger box of things I don't need now. Not sure what I'll do with the four radios I have found so far! I'll give away at least two.

I've done a set of tiny drawers, my bedside drawers and the drawer under the bed that is blocked by the bedside drawers. The last drawer is empty except for one item now.

I've also done the set of shelves in my closet (reorganizing as I work and wondering why I didn't think of this new arrangement 6 months ago) and the stuff on the floor of my closet. Lots of shoes are tossed. Lately my Tootsie shoes haven't lasted more than a few wearings.

I have a doll's trunk that is early 1900s and in it were some important memory papers, special notes the kids wrote me over the years, my mom's funeral bulletin, and the note my dad wrote dd before she left for university (and 5 days before he died.) The last item has knocked me for a loop. I can't stop crying, and my tummy hurts. I still have the top shelf of my closet to go through (almost all of that is travel items) and I have one more drawer in my dresser to do. Then all that is left is clothing which I deal with when I do the seasonal wardrobe swap.

I'm taking a break and having lunch now.

I've made some decent progress on the paper clutter....I can't believe it's already 1:30 here, tho. I do have some papers sorted on the table that I need to put into folders for follow up. I'm going to try to set up online access to dmom's checking account and then move on to the other stuff OMM.

I picked 5 sample boards of carpet at the carpet store. What I like best will probably be too dark for the basement. I'm not sure if dh will like any of the samples.

The last 2 nights I have went to bed too late, then laid there way too long before I fell asleep. Then up early the next 2 mornings. It is catching up with me. I could use a nap but have a hair appt.

After putting LO on the school bus this morning, I went back to bed and pouted. DMom has me frustrated to the point of tears. I can't do anything about her decisions & choices, but I just needed time to come to terms with them....again. Hence my pouting for a bit. After a couple hours of lazing around, I was tired of the pouting and dwelling on things that I can't change. Time to turn my attention to things that I can do.

While eating lunch, DSon called with a business proposition. He was driving back home from a business trip and wanted to chat. I'll looking into his idea and see what how risky it looks. DSon's idea of a good risk and our idea could be 180 degrees apart. Even if it doesn't work out, it will be fun to check out the possibilities with DSon/DDIL
