It's a Sunny Sunday here, altho weather is supposed to change to rain/storm tomorrow. Dh is mowing this morning and I have outdoor things to do today.

I'm lovin' the sunshine.

Ahhhhhh! Can I just say how nice it is to have nothing on the schedule today? I slept until around 8:30 which was very lovely; yesterday a.m. Moses got me up at 7:40 with his barking. Waking up naturally is so much nicer!

Yesterday dh and I went to a big arts festival locally. I could have sworn that we walked miles and miles, but it really wasn't that big - we just spent a lot of time looking and going back and looking. We bought a couple of large pieces of art for our house - and I got a pair of earrings and a Seder "hostess" gift for tomorrow night. The seder gift is a beautiful polished walnut wine stopper - stainless for base that goes inside and beautiful wood with a lighter band and unfinished at the top. These friends are big wine drinkers so I think they will appreciate and it's perfect for a seder. (They exempted me from bringing anything because of my servitude as temple president.)

I probably need to walk the ddogs next...

Morning routine done, doggies fed, footprints picked up last night. Now I'm off to water my flowers.
Laundry done yesterday, pantry looks stunning, chicken thawing for dinner tonight.

I am going to attack "my" bathroom and office today and given enough energy will work on Sweetie. Garbage can is almost full and I may need Sweetie to "dance" on it. Hope he's strong enough to get it to the curb cause it's packed.

Tomorrow Sweetie and I are going to the horse races. I love to stand by the railing and listen to the thunder of the horses as they race by. Bring my camera in hopes of capturing the moment. Kentucky Derby is three weeks away. Except for ordering the food and mailing my invitations, I'm ready. People are already asking me for their invites. Many have saved the date. Seems they all love the excitement of a good race.

Off to water my flowers. Sure Willis will be willing to assist. Enjoy your day and include some fun... Cy'all later

Back from walk with ddogs - speaking of walking dogs I took a fall when I turned my ankle off the side of the sidewalk. Hurt pride and a skinned knee I think are the extent of injuries. Neighbor guy was leaving in truck and stopped to ask if okay, and neighbor whose house I was in front of came out to check also. Cowinkie, I generally have a leash in each hand, working them back and forth so I don't know how a walking pole could work for me? I don't fear other dogs here, other than what dMacs will do to himself pulling on the leash. He's pulled so hard he's been unable to walk home before, but I can use his harness now to physically turn him around if need be. He only weighs in the low 60s now, after being over 90 when he was much younger. This is a much better weight for his joints.

-clear kitchen counters and breakfast bar
-sort laundry, figure out whether I need to start a lol
-empty the dishwasher
-make the bed
-straighten MBR and bath

Self-maid service is done for the week. Dinner is prepped ahead; we're having chicken, also. We got two and will stuff and roast them. Dh made a whipped butterscotch pie for dessert. I'm just relaxing till dfam#2 arrives.

Dee, yes, I have heard of the sugar mill ruins, but never been there. That's a really nice area.

Yesterday, I reorganized my sewing area. I was inspired by Harmony remark about checking her fabric stash! Now I'm ready to do some sewing. There are no appointments this week, so I will use my free time there.

I was feeling relaxed until dh wanted to discuss the built-in that we hope to build in our Great room. He's been wanting me to call a guy who was recommended by a friend and I don't think we're together enough on what it is we want to get him over here. So I suggested today that we try to lay it out with painters tape on the floor, wall, etc. to get an idea of what we want and it feels like we're bickering. He's having trouble expressing his issues. Oy. I've pinned what seems like hundreds of built ins on Pinterest. The big issue is the TV and dh doesn't want it over the fireplace.

Anyway, now that he's out of the house I can get productive, hopefully!

Sunny here too and think it's somewhat that way up home. Think temps are to go to upper 70's up there today, 71 tomorrow, but fear not......snow flurries by Tuesday.

Had a wonderful day at db's/dsil's yesterday. Spurred us to do some cleaning out here. It's very difficult here because 1) dd has NO time and 2) dsonil is a PACK RAT, BIG TIME! "WHAT are you doing?!?!?! -don't touch my stuff (which is everywhere btw). DD has completely given up on their bedroom.

Dh called earlier to say he'd sat with an old/old friend at church today. One who hasn't been there in a very long time. She has good reason as she's caring for an ill dh for several years now. He also had gone to Al di's for me to see if they had a gazebo there that we were interested in. On sale this week and they were all gone here. Lo and behold he got one and now I don't have to transport it to NY. Think it'll give us a little shelter from the bees and mosquitoes.

Flowers watered, had second cup of coffee and catching my second wind....

My poor office chair is falling apart. Thinking back I realize it is more than 15 years old and has seen a lot desk time. It was my teacher chair for years and though I've managed to screw everything back together I guess it may be time for it to retire too.

Oh Twins...oww, owww, owww... I've taken a nose dive like that in front of people when I was walking Willis. That was the time I was power walking, tripped on an uprooted sidewalk and broke two ribs...however I didn't know that at the time. Several people came to my rescue asking me if any thing was hurt to which I replied...only my pride

Though I can walk both Sadie and Willis together either side-by-side or in each hand like you, I don't. Too many loose dogs and unexpected coyotes can show up and with over a hundred pounds of dogs I wouldn't be able to control the situation.

Also laughing at your discussion with your dh. We had one of those yesterday. I have picture my son gave me for Xmas that I wanted hung. I also had three decorative mirrors I wanted to include. We placed them on the floor to see what sort of arrangement we could come up. Sweetie didn't like any of them. Here's why...the picture is square, but the image is in a circle. He said the circles were too repetitive and didn't look right and he had another idea for the mirrors.

I couldn't understand his thought process, not that it was wrong. So I got out some paper and sketched what I thought he was trying to describe. I was way off. We went back and forth with paper and pen till he was able to communicate his thoughts in a way I could see it. After looking at everything we agreed his idea was right.

Sunny I love your self-maid service term, so I'm gonna steal it ...

Busy church day despite being one of the few Sundays I don't have to preach.

First service, second service until the children's story (we went to sing there), visited my senior friend, lunch (and a nice visit with my backyard neighbours who were at the same place), community choir practice for Good Friday's service.

Dh needs me to practice tomorrow and Tuesday's set list with him now. I need a nap before we go out for dinner tonight. (We bought this dinner last November and CM, CF and the boys bought in as well so we'll have a fun dinner at the home of my counterpart at the second church.)

It is a sunny Sunday here, too... beautiful day... and I am very proud of myself for making it to church, just dgs & me, and teaching dbil's Sunday School class. As expected, I had only one student.
After church, dgs & I went to the hospital to visit w/dh & dmil -- dmil was glad to see us, but slept most all the time we were there. I think dh will be home soon, after trying to encourage her to eat lunch. DH feels he gets better results than others re: getting dmil to eat, but honestly, no one can work miracles. She takes about 3 bites of whatever is before her and then says, "That's all I want, you can throw that out."
* sigh *
Got 3 new phone numbers for possible caretakers...

I need a nap. I hope I haven't waited to long. Maybe dgs will continue to sleep for a while longer.
