TA-DA-DA! THURSDAY

Do you have a "Ta-da-da!" for this Thursday? Mine so far is that I got up very early. Now dh is awake and up. First thing I have to do this morning is dishes. Never got to them yesterday. At least got all the 'dark' clothes washed & put away.
I've at least taken meds this morning and made the bed. Made that at like 5:30.
Have a good morning everyone. Here it's only 48 and I turned on the furnace about 3am -it was 61 in here. Only supposed to be up to 61 today.

I awoke from a sleep cycle at 6:40 and felt refreshed. Still took an hour to get out of bed but that's not bad (sometimes I'm in bed 2 hours or more before managing to get out.)
Bed is made, room tidied, load of laundry on, kitchen drainer emptied. Having my tea and chocolate now.
At some point the septic guy is to come and I give him the deposit (although he's already applied for the permit based on our verbal agreement.)
Today's focus is packing. We don't think we'll get to the apartment at all because we really need to get ahead of the curve here. I also have to finish the service for Sunday so I have a cross on reminding me of that part of my life.
Did I write that my minister friend wrote earlier this week asking for another 3 hour lunch? Dh had me write back that Dh needs me until after the move and then I can go! I've told him to come to me at the end of next week since I'm not able to get to him. He'll create a much needed sabbath for me if he does come but normally we only see each other every 5 - 7 months so I'd be surprised if he comes.

Well, by the time we went to graduation, found the girls afterward (symphony band played), took dd16's friend home, and got home, it was 9:35. We sat down to dinner around 9:50. That must be a new record. The crockpot lasagne turned out fine but will not be a favorite here. I guess we're kind of picky. It tasted too salty to me.
Skippable: Graduation was grand and big and l-o-n-g. Our principal is retiring after 19 years, and he tends to be long-winded anyway but much moreso this year. Dh and I were a little cynical about grade inflation though, and I don't think this high school is too bad. 75/375 kids have a GPA of 3.9 or higher. I think 20 have a 4.0 - but I think dd18 is counted in that bunch, and I think she just lost that in one class this last semester. Maybe others have too? Apparently, 80% of kids have a GPA of 3.2 or higher. . . . Hmmmm...Lots of accolades that made us all feel good about our kids going there. 
It is true that with the huge diversity in the student body, it performs very well, and there are many outstanding caring teachers there. As we do every year, we are sending a few kids to MIT and the Ivies. (That wasn't mentioned, I just know b/c some of dd18's friends are going.) This class has a presidential scholar as have the previous 4 classes, and 17 NM finalists this year - not sure if that is a lot for this size class or not. And this class has the 2013 national chess champion, who helped our chess team make #2 in the nation last year! (I hadn't known that. Too bad ds had graduated by then.) And he is a nice kid, ds knows him a bit, and he has been on drumline with dd16. And more. . . But there are also low-performing kids, and perhaps even gang issues, though I think to issues have really been worked on the last years. This school has been noted for its huge gap between the highest and lowest performing students. My favorite part - they included the special ed kids in the graduation ceremony. One needed help walking up to receive his diploma. Each one got huge applause from the students and everybody! That about sums up the attitude this school tries to promote in its very diverse student body. My 2nd favorite part: the 7 Korean kids with last name Lee had decorated their mortars with Lee 1, Lee 2, etc. 
Dd18 got a special humanitarian award, so that was also a nice surprise!
Nothing on the calendar until our special dinner out at 6 pm. I'm off to get the a.m. routine done. I hope to have a lot of Ta-Das today!

Helia, congrats on dd18's graduation! Is today the big party?
I'm on the run again this morning - I was up with dMacs around 5 a.m. when we had a Tstorm. Was up until around 6 and then slept until 8 a.m.. Shouldn't have slept so late but I was tired, tired, and was in very deep sleep when I heard the thunder and Macs started carrying on.
Today I need to clean up for dcleaning lady - she is coming mid day today instead of tomorrow, I need to be at a graveside funeral at 11 a.m. at the temple cemetery, am getting a pedicure at 2:30 then have a 5:30 meeting. I have some reflections on why I can't get anything done (from yesterday's whirlwind) but need to save those as I need to be out of here in 1.5 hours. DDogs may have to walk after the funeral.....

Got a project done for a gift is my fav. ta daa today!
Toddlern & Dgd will be here today I think not sure about dgson I doubt it as he will not have home work as the class is not doing any teacher has gathered up books
Skippable;
Track and field day Dgson is not doing that, and they have the catapult fun day he is not getting to do. This is overkill on the restrictions I am angry about this. Not sure this lesson is helping. There must be a better way to resolve a power struggle in a more positive way.
(They had to play inside on water park day bc of T-storms.)
So it seems to me dgson is done with this yr. Even though they have another 4 days.

I've made progress on several OMM's this morning. Nothing spectacular but just little things that need to be done

** DW ran
** LOL in progress
** walked on treadmill
** responded to invite for LO to attend friend party. LO said he wanted to give her a "princess kite" so found one online and have it ordered.
** decision made on Thank You gifts for 3 people who coached LO ball team.
** weeded & mulched today's garden bed. Garlic is freshly planted for harvesting next year.
** Notes made on plans for Preacher & bride wedding shower.
** scanned/filed DH CPAP usage report from 3/15/2012 to present. DH will turn in the report today. ENT/Insurance company wanted proof that DH is using CPAP. weird.......

No, Twins, the party is Saturday. 
Dh and I are bickering a bit. We really haven't had time to see each other for over a week - and we won't really have the time to see each other until Hawaii. Maybe Hawaii is well-timed after all.
I'm feeling so tired; I've been averaging 5-6 hours sleep the last 4 nights. I'm not sure why. I think I will crash once I'm through this busy time. The big events: party Saturday, including an out of town guest Friday - Sunday; a different pair of out of town guests will be here Mon - Tues; I leave for Hawaii Thursday.
Anyhow, I have taken the girls to school, showered, checked laundry, searched for sheets for guest bed. I guess he can sleep on magenta flowers??

Proof of USING that machine, Okay? I can tell you what happens sometimes when someone doesn't use that machine, when they need to.
Any news on your boots?
Hope all goes smoothly in the next few days, Kathryn.
I went into the recliner and snoozed for about 2 hours. Now I'm s2s but still have to shampoo my hair (after I do dishes). Think the water is just about hot enough now so I can get those jobs done.
Need to make out a "day-by-day" l&&t of things I want finished before dsisil arrives in about 3 weeks. It's not daunting but thinks I want to see done anyway -but right now wouldn't want a 'white glove' test in places. Guy is supposed to be here to do our windows again this weekend. He wasn't happy with whatever they used last week. That's a long job on this RV There are a LOT of windows, which I happen to love. Nice and light -hate it when it's cold enough that dh feels we need to close the day/night shades. The ones in our bedroom are always closed however.
Think I'll take a bit of a break on the RV today and get my last load of laundry done. Am supposed to take $$ for the hamburg stand/raffle tonight at the car show. Promised I'd come up with a new plan to make the ordering procees/fulfillment easier and think I've done that. Have to go to the store however. Good day to go as it's Thursday & gas is 5-cents cheaper/gal and I'll get the mail while I'm out. Think I may throw in that laundry & do those errands while it washes.

lucylee, glad you were redeemed!
Btw for everyone.. ... Emptynester's advice if ever you receive a message of being blocked or blacklisted as you enter the site, try turning off computer/device (lucylee also turned off router) for several minutes and then turning back on. lucylee's experience was that she could still send a private message, she just couldn't post. Probably after an overnight of everything being off, as well, things would be normal the next morning.
Nancy, is this parents' restrictions or school restrictions? I think it's probably time for school restrictions to be lifted and allow fun, if it is something that has been promised.
Congratulations to helia's dd18, especially on her unexpected award. Certain that it is richly deserved. How cool that all the students with same last name felt such friendship.
Happy to hear from blessed in Cardfile Central that ddyounger has felt completely better since hospitalization. Congratulations on her graduation. I wondered if all the AP testing and pressure toward end of year might have had an effect. Hope she continues to feel well.
Special Ed Prom was held at dd's school and she was one of photographers and helper. She said it was just a great moment, loved it.
Dd34 is cheerful this morning. Emailed : "Last night (baby) decided to prove that he does indeed still have lots of room to maneuver at my expense. His exercises went on for over an hour. I am now convinced that some of the "special effects" in Alien are just accurate representations of post-term babies."

Nothing wonderful to report. Septic contract is signed. Our home phone number is ported over to VOIP now so will follow us to the new house. My kitchen has a garbage 'drawer' cupboard and I pulled that all apart and cleaned. I'm now putting sticky notes on each kitchen cupboard that is empty and no longer needs to be checked. Might expand that to other parts of the house too where items can hide in drawers or cupboards. It is a visual cue to panic/not panic (depending on the state of a room.)
The church bulletin cover had writing on the back so I had to completely reformat and send the new copy to the secretary. In other church secretary news, the one at the church I'm working at in the summer will email me reminders when I get closer to the date so I don't have to worry about missing deadlines. Bless her! (She is so on top of things, that last time I worked there I mailed a thank you note to her, perhaps I'm reaping the benefit of that gesture.)
