Throwback Thursday

Good morning, villagers ~
On FB, "Throwback Thursday" means that people post photos from many years ago, sometimes of themselves, sometimes of previous generations in their families.
In preparation for moving our boards in the next few weeks (see Kathryn's global announcement), my Throwback Thursday means that I have pulled out my old 3x5 card box and put it back in order for today's date. I'm going to work my original card system (1 task per card) for at least a week.
The little program for downloading & saving my posts to my hard drive looks simple enough, but I think I should have some breakfast & coffee before I try it. Must wait another 15 minutes until I can eat after morning meds.
In the meantime, the next card up is "Laundry -- Do Something -- Anything!!" Hmm, some of my original cards appear to include a tinge of desperation ...

Can't get into my cards today. I'm just doing what my schedule dictates.
- pick up bagels and coffee
- church for kids camp staff snacks; I'll be there ~9 - 12.
- I hope to be home by 12:30.
- groc. store shopping - for dinner for tonight. We still need to settle on a menu. . .
- haircut in neighboring village at 3:15; I'll need to leave at 2:30. I hope to be home by 5 pm
- cook
- Th. dinner crew - just S and R, so a cozy group, which is just fine with my. My introversion is struggling w/ all the social activity and people in the house all the time.
That's about it, folks!
I'm off to brush my teeth and get ready to go.
(I'm in denial about the move right now.

Up and about here and I have a busiest day of my week ahead. Dmom has dr appt at 1:30 and then I will p/u her meals and get her home and refill her meds, etc. Need to talk to dbro - last week after I paid her credit card bill (the day after it was due) she apparently also had him pay it so she's had checks bounce this week.

Her account is set up to transfer from savings if she overdrafts and the fee is only $1 per item, but apparently no one checked the bank balance before the credit card pmt was made by her or dbro. (I had done a transfer from savings for the pmt I made....

)
Then I have a 6 p.m. meeting at the other synagogue about the religious school. Need to do some budget work for the meeting, but need conf first that we have agreed on administrator's salary.
This morning need to do things here at home. Was up at 7:45.
-walk ddogs
-straighten Gr room
-breakfast & meds/vitamins
-reboot laundry (left wet laundry in washer

last night)
-call dmom to remind her of dr appt

I'm up and s2s. Bedroom is tidy, bathtub is clean. (I had VERY dirty feet after my walk yesterday and washed my feet and sandals in the tub last night before bed. Even my shower this morning didn't get all the dirt from the tub. There are bumps across the bottom that seem to trap dirt so keeping the tub clean may be a challenge.)
I'm having my childhood best friend over for dinner. Aside from my sister, she has been an active part of my life longer than any other person on earth.
So, I have grocery shopping and dinner cooking to do. She was recently diagnosed with diabetes so I've been struggling over the meal planning more than usual. I've decided on beer can chicken with a salad, cooked veggies, roasted potatoes, and rolls. She's bringing fresh berries for dessert.
It looks like it will be good weather to eat on the balcony but I'll clear the dining table just in case.

Good Morning!
I did a rare sleep-in this morning. I got up at normal time, but decided to return to bed for 15 minutes of sleep. That 15 minutes extra sleep lasted 2.5 hours!! I feel wonderfully rested and full of energy so it was time well spent.
This morning is LO last swim lesson. I could sign him up for another two week session but I think he has learned all that his body is coordinated enough to do. We will try again when he is older (and more coordinated?). He can now jump off the diving board and swim to the side of the pool. His doesn't do it in correct form but he gets it done so hopefully these lessons has increased his water safety.
This evening we are meeting the mother of GGD (Great Granddaughter 6 months old) in town. We will take GGD with us to family gathering. DH cousin & wife is in town from Michigan so we have invited them to eat with us at local Italian restaurant. I'm not sure how many will attend. I know DGS17 will be there with his step-sister. DGS19 hasn't responded to my invite. DAunt will come (DCousin's Mom). And DMIL. Although it isn't planned for a large group, usually the word gets out and another half dozen family members show up. The more the merrier.
DH had another x-ray last night so they can track the location of his kidney stone. This morning DH has his weekly shots which include a visit to family doctor office. I'm hoping this kidney stone saga ends soon and I KNOW DH is ready for it to be over.

Don't be, Helia, (or any others who may have trepidations) it will all be a 'piece of cake', a 'walk in the park'.

Hopefully you will barely notice the change.
I'm up s2s but have yet to do something with my hair -perhaps a shampoo is in order -after I do the dishes.
Going out in a little while with dd, ddil and dgs9. Have to go to Geneseo as dd wants to go to A ldi's and to the $ tree. She has a bunch of things she has to buy for snacks, etc for her TSA team to take with her to Washington, D.C. tomorrow. She'll be gone 5 days and we'll have dBailey. That means watching out for her to not be right behind me -though she usually lays down and behaves well. Dh will do the most care taking I'm sure.
Off to do the dishes and that shampoo and then I'll be ready. Have spent the last half hour or so copying statement/check I received from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. It's for the amount of an uncashed check evidently sent to dShelley 5 years ago. I'll deposit it and split the amount between dgs20 and dgd19. Made sure I made copies of the statement and check for each of them and made a copy to file myself. Wanted a paper trail.

Done with that round. Dmom didn't remember that appt was today; dbro isn't out of bed yet.

Anyway, I need to be there early enough to help her find what she needs to be ready.
-kitchen clean up (bkfast was two eggs scrambled with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and feta, sprinkled with fresh basil and oregano!)
-make the bed
-s2s
-start a load of laundry
-straighten up laundry room
This will finish a.m. routine at least.

My sister called and since she put the dog down two days ago, she was top of my 'attention' list so we chatted for well over an hour.
I did manage to get three boxes emptied and put away during that time, which cleared up a foyer mess. It is still untidied/unsettled, but it isn't overly messy now.
Need to eat my cereal now and then get the dining table and balcony table cleared off for tonight (the rain made a mess of the balcony table - I had hoped it would just wash it off but it looks like bits of dirt from the balcony above is also on it.

Morning ya'll...
I was up early with the sun. All morning routines done, no footprints to pick up, and doggies fed. The house has been blessed and it shows.
Treating myself with time to watch the USA soccer game. Before the games begin, each teams national anthem is played. Never have I heard the USA fans sing it as loudly as they did today. What joy to watch them sing at the top of their lungs as the camera panned the crowds. I love the sportsmanship that is shown on the field, that is of course for the player that bit the ear of his opponent. He was suspended from play. Players that fall down on the field due to something their opponent does is always helped up by that player.
Made Sweetie some home made blueberry muffins. They look wonderful but are still too hot to eat. After the game I am going back to look at the luggage I found the other day. If it fits the dimensions I need I will by it. On the way home, need to pick up some hamburger buns for dinner tonight.
I'm glad I don't have all that running around that many of ya'll do. I did that in my past life and am glad for the slower pace. Course things will pick up for me once classes are back in session. I have several big trips I am considering... All with gfs... And will use my "money" to pay for them. I'm changing the schools I work in to ones that are just a stone's throw from the house so my commute will be very easy peasy.
Harriet... MT posted on fb this morning that her dh will be getting a pacemaker today.
And of course Mr. Guy is getting a new knee today at 4pm
Ya'll enjoy your day... Half time is over so it's back to the game for me
