Monday - start of a new week! What maintenance do you and your home need to be your best? From getting up the "footprints" of the weekend, to planning some time for yourself, Monday is hereby declared maintenance day.

Thank you again to Kathryn, Ken and all of our mods who got us moved this weekend! What a shiny new village we have, all together!

I am considering going back to bed - it's pouring rain outside and I can't even see going out to get the newspaper! Dmacs is on the floor next to where I'm sitting, I put my sweatshirt down for him to lie on. Thunder had him edgy a little earlier.

I meant to get up at seven; was still sleepy when dh got me up about 15 minutes before my alarm. DMacs was down and dh was worried he couldn't get up. By the time Dh got me, he was up, tho.

Some OMM:
-order recommended hock splits for dMacs
-call dsis' Medicaid casework re sale of the house
-genealogy?
-ck with home health care re: how many visits mom can still have covered
-worksheet I did last week - need to get it to dRabbi and dwife
-what else?

Ahhh, the rain has let up some, I'll grab the newspaper.

I still marvel at how relatively easy it was to make this move. Sure it was anything but easy on Ken & Kathryn's end. Thank you, thank you.

I have some maintenance to take care of on my computer. Some is posts from our little village that I should have copied a long time ago. Though I'm pretty sure they're already here, I know I should copy/paste/perhaps print some for posterity sake.

Slept relatively well last night. Didn't do much of anything yesterday -was still all petered out from being sick overnight and not really up to snuff all day. Hoping today will be much better.

I'm s2s and have had meds. Now for just a bit of breakfast.

Shortly after we went to bed last night I thought I heard our bedroom sliding open. Got up about 11:30 for the bathroom & realized it was open a few inches & knew dBailey must have figured out how to push it open. I glanced around the living room for her, but it was dark. When I went back in -there she was lying at the end of our bed -AND she's still there. Have to ask dh when he comes in if he had her out at all, but I don't think so.

Definitely have to do dishes. They sure didn't get done yesterday.

The newly renovated village is bustling with people and postings.

Last night I was hugely surprised to find all the houses and families were here livelier than ever. the removalist team .
Ever reliable. Nothing was lost or broken. Its just some have the villagers have chosen new to me house names.
I've taken to the balloon equipt background for when I need a lift.

I'm home from the city today. AT workshop is done. there is lots to do. Subtle but effective changes that should be helpful.
Where is my head - moving freely on the top of my spine. I need to keep it that way. Trying to put my feet flat on the floor as I walk as I realise I've been avoiding the ball of my sore foot. My instruction was to forget about my foot and just walk so here is me not doing what I am told again. If the walk is without its limp I can do that. Otherwise - untwisting it I'm hoping will help with the high instep pain. and suddenly I'm aware of the ball of my foot again when I do the even weight thing.

Today - I took an hour each with my dgks. Art table w dgd11. Scattergories with both - until dgd dropped out, and dd dropped in for a while. Then We went to their local shopping center.
I bought a mop bucket to replace the one the bottom fell out of last week when helper was here. fortunately in the bathroom, and the drainage hole did drain. I hadn't used it for a long while. I'd used either steam mop or hand washed.
Also present for dd - a book she spied and wanted - gardening for our clime.
Also for me from a sports store - a new yoga set that contains two blocks. Probably cheaper than the net considering there was no postage, and a mat thrown in. The blocks are a slightly different shape though.Won't work the same in some areas, but good when I'm doing lunges or downward dogs I hope. The edges are shaved, so I do hope they aren't tippy.

I msg from the water co. re sewage cap in my yard. ugg. Hope there is no unsurmountable problem. I cleared away the mulch etc that has fallen on it.

msg from dm. I listened to her when I really needed a nap. Napped at 5pm when she was done.
soup w an egg for my tea. I thought of eating the veg raw, but figured my body need the fluids, and the nutrients will get absorbed better.

Its cold in here. 15C. 58?f. I wish my laptop was away from the window. I need work on that I think. I feel the cold coming thru my dressing gown etc. Fierce wind yesterday was hard for me to stand, walk in.The wind was less today. It might be frosty in the morning.

I need find my tooth brush and make for bed.

Rough, rough, night.

Because of the plantar faciitis (sp?), I've been limping hard and my left leg is stiff at the knee as a result. For instance, bending the leg to put on socks or shoes is incredibly painful. So I've been trying to do stretches to see if that will help but sticking to my normal knee physio (rather than try and stretch out this new issue.)

Last night, the leg ached and ached. I simply could not get comfortable. This was new (normally in bed, my legs didn't hurt after a few minutes of relaxing.) Nor could I get up and walk it off (because the PF makes getting out of bed a HUGE ordeal.) Finally, I did get up and pee, took an ibuprofen, put heat on the leg, and went back to sleep. Slept from 5:30 to 7:30 and dh got me up at 8 because the furniture repair guy was coming for 9. Got s2s just in time.

Yesterday, while lined up at the Costco pharmacy I saw the machine for Dr. Scholl's orthotics so decided to give it a shot. The last time, it didn't work at all, it couldn't read my feet because they were too cold. I didn't have a particular problem back then, just wondered what it would say about me. This time, after being on my feet for a lot of the day and with major issues, it worked. I decided to try spending the $66 on two pairs and if they worked sort-of ok, then I could buy custom $$$ ones. It told me to buy the 410's which I believe are the highest number they sell. What that means, couldn't tell you!

Put them into my slippers this morning and it was immediate difference. So now they are in my running shoes. Not perfect and my left leg (the one that has carried most of my weight for the past month) is complaining still but it is a start on the road to recovery. Yesterday I only did 5K steps and less than that the day before so I'm really trying to rest my feet now that the bulk of the settling-in is done.

As for my left leg soreness, it might be caused by the fall on Saturday since, when the chair collapsed. I would have used that leg to get me back up to standing and probably it took the weight of the fall as well.

So I'm up and possibly more mobile than recently. Won't try and walk more today but know I'll be on my feet a lot with the party tonight so this is a great start.

As for Monday Maintenance, I have barely been maintaining around here and since I started from dirty, I really am not doing well. Now that the furniture guy has returned, I really have no excuse - the move is officially over - most boxes are emptied, the packing supplies are gone, things are pretty well in their final home (in a jumble, but in their final homes) and life is beginning to return to its new normal. I need to make sure that regular, basic, housekeeping is part of that new normal. Dh has been very patient but, for example, the bathrooms haven't been cleaned properly since we moved in. Yesterday I finally brought a toilet brush from the house so I can do that job.

Trying, trying to get up off my tushie. ;) I had oatmeal for breakfast, a throwback. I'll have eggs for lunch or a snack. I need major maintenance today in the kitchen.

-meds/vitamins
-start a lol
-empty dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters, wipe down
-straighten up GR

Kathryn, I think I also had a go-around with plantar fascitis after we moved. I think a lot of it was from wearing flip flops and flat shoes and on my feet so much. I wear flip flops only for short periods now and wear Tevas or walking shoes when possible. I had the Dr Scholls orthotics in my old walking shoes but I'm better in these w/o the additional support, at least for now.

Ddogs are wanting their walk. Rain seems to have nearly stopped but very gloomy out. Trying to wait a bit...

Good morning, villagers ~
I did not sleep at all well last night. Really bad storms. We were lucky, no tornado sirens this time in Tiny Town, and I haven't seen any reports of flash flooding here. Lots of flood reports all over FB from nearby towns. Here we had really hard rain with thunder, lightning, and high winds.

At one point in the middle of the night, I looked out to see why several emergency vehicles were flashing lights outside our house. It wasn't vehicles, it was lightning. So many flashes, rapid enough to look like a strobe light in our yard, and bright enough to wake me even through our insulated window coverings and closed miniblinds.

Of course, every time I woke up, the cat woke up and fussed. Add to that a lot of pain in my knee and hip, and I finally gave up at 4, and got up to do some chores. It's almost 9 now, I have
* completed several daily cards,
* updated the library group's checkbook register and balanced it to the bank's online account
* answered Emails and FB questions, and
* researched a musical question for a niece's wedding.

I'm going to go try to take a nap before I start laundry. BBL.

Hey! Long time, no see! Thanks for the invite back -- I love what you've done with the place!

It must be serendipity -- I just found my cards the other day; clearly, I am meant to get back on this horse -- or, more appropriately, get back on this house.

Not sure if I should post an update (which, I'm sure, would double as an introduction for those who've arrived in my absence) here or in "Across the Table." Goodness knows it's been long enough since I've been here -- longer still since I've been here regularly.

I hope folks have been doing well. I guess I'm going to have to do some catch-up reading!

Sorry to hear that Macs is under the weather, Twins. Is Moses still around? They must be getting up in years -- I've been gone forever.

(((Feel better, Dee.))) (((You, too, Lynlee.))) (((And you, Kathryn!))) Yikes! I guess I should send up a prayer for the health of all here, human or otherwise!

Hey back, Harriet!

Wait, Kathryn! You did a physical move as well as the site move -- while in pain? Bless you!

Goodness, Bookie! I hope you have a quality nap -- and better weather today!

I will have to find my color later, I think. For now, I should s2s & have a late breakfast; thus far, I've spent time here & worked on updating my cards, and that's about it.

MYSTERY!!!!! A big ol' cyber hug to you! I'm SO happy to see you here again! I've missed you and your posts. So many times I've thought of you and wondered how you and the girls and your dh are all doing. I bet your girls have grown up lots!! :)

I'm considering this my first week of summer vacation. :) I'm not traveling. My mornings are not taken up by orientation meetings or church kids' camp. I do not have 12 evenings in a row with meetings, get togethers, activities. (Well, to be honest, I did have one evening off in those previous 12.)

So far today, I have:
x jogged - I kept moving for 30 minutes. I'm still woefully out of shape, but I've been seeing numbers on the scale I haven't seen for a couple years - and I'm motivated to not see them for many more. . .
x s2s-ed
x bfast
x a couple emails - I'm checking on an order for which my card was charged a week ago. There has been no confirmation the order is coming.

I'm getting ready to take Maia to the vet, She had some raw spots on her neck that I thought might be mange. However, they seem to be healing - but still. I want to get her checked out. Also, I think she needs some shots.

I think I might make this an errand day.

Later today:
- LAUNDRY
- groc. store
- Target
- finish a.m. routine
- 1 DPC
