Good morning, villagers ~
Apologies for disappearing again, we had more bad storms. I had to shut down early yesterday afternoon, checked in very briefly late in the day, but then another line of storms came through and hung around all evening. The afternoon ones were the worst, with the tornado siren going off, extremely high winds and heavy rain. DH said on his drive home, he saw branches down and even a couple of collapsed outbuildings on farms, plus lots of high water.

DH and I have been very lucky with no damage and still having power, as lots of friends in neighboring towns are battling water in basements. Even the truck stop here in Tiny Town had to close because of no electricity, which shocked us when we tried to go there for supper. They are on a separate power grid in the new part of town, and they have always had power when we've lost ours. It was very surprising to go there and see the doors locked, when our lights at home were working fine.

There is a chance of additional showers today, but it is not supposed to be bad. I need to get out and run the errands that I couldn't do yesterday. Nothing will be open yet so I have some time.

Ah, the coffee's done. :) BRB to cuop from yesterday to see what y'all got up to while I was cowering in front of the tv watching storm reports.

Unfortunately, I waited too late yesterday to start laundry. Now we are concerned about the flash flooding in other parts of town overwhelming the storm sewers and thus affecting the water treatment plant. DH recommended not using any more water than truly necessary today, just to give the system a chance to settle down.

Good Morning!

Bookie - WOW! That is a powerful storm! Glad you are okay.
HRH wants me to ask you what your recipe for lemonade is - not kidding really. Wondering if you used bottled lemon juice or fresh lemons, etc. He says he has heard about the idea of acidic fruit juices maybe helping disintegrate stones. Some people think they do, others think it's a coincidence.
I'm still playing with the amounts. This is approximately what I'm using to make a 2 quarts of Lemonade.
1 cup Real Lemon juice (from bottle)
1 scoop (2 T? Splenda powder)
20 drops of SweetLeaf (liquid Stevia)
RO water

DNeice had terrible pain with kidney stone while she was pregnant. Her docs told DNeice to drink lemonade and she made it through her pregnancy without needing any kidney stone treatment. When DNeice reminded me of this I researched "lemonade and kidney stones" and was surprised to see it so well supported by the medical community to prevent reoccurrence of kidney stones. We immediately started DH on lemonade (without sugar due to his diabetics) . His pain went away within a couple days. There is documented proof (CT scan and X-ray) that DH has kidney stone. It will be interesting to see if lemonade has an effect on the existing kidney stone.

Yesterday afternoon I rode the lawn mower. I mowed the inside yard (about 3 acres) before needing to stop to prepare dinner. The grass is growing sooo fast since we received rain! We are struggling to keep up with the mowing here & MPB. Still need to mow our outside yard (not the pasture) and then load up mower onto trailer and go mow at MPB. Weed-eating is getting behind too and a struggle to keep up with. After years of drought THIS IS A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE!

Slow getting going today. Need to go to post office & on to buy card for dh's birthday. His phone was beeping during the night & I figured he'd had a fire call. Not -it was ds-A texting him at 2:46am to wish him a happy birthday!

Need to go check mail every day (I don't normally) to see if dsonil has any mail. :?

Have to let dBailey out in a minute. She's getting pretty lazy. Maybe she'll perk up when dd gets back. Thought it was tonight but guess it's tomorrow night.

I thought Canada was older than that, Cathy. Who knew? Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian friends!

It's 81 already at 6:20. We've been for our walk and put the sun screen on the mh. DH cannot lift his arms so I had the honor of climbing the ladder to do that.
We are now in the house with the ac.
After breakfast and a shower, we will go to town for groceries.

But you're back at your home now, MT? Were you at the rally when Mr. MT ended up getting the pacemaker? Colored me just a tad confused this morning. :D
