Going to take dgs9 to lacrosse camp and then dd and I are having a 'girls day out'. Hadn't decided on today or tomorrow but thought that we only had today or tomorrow and let's take today since we have it free. Would rather like to go see my db/dsil tomorrow. They're arriving from FL today at dniece's about 30 miles away. Thursday dh is scheduled for an endoscopy so I know that's out. DGS has camp for 3 days this week and tryouts tonight for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) lacrosse tonight so he'll be occupied most of the week.

I've done my morning routine, got the dishes done and my hair washed (that's always a project!). DD is picking me up in 15 minutes (tops) so guess I'd better finish doing my prep for leaving. Have a good day everyone.

I did say to dh this morning, "As dumb as it may sound, you may want to think about putting the 'beach closed' sign up". There will always be those who will try to do the obvious NOT. Besides the water quality is tested each week and something tells me it's not going to pass for a couple of weeks at least. There's been way too much run off from farmer's fields, etc.

Dee - have some fun with your special day!

My next 3 afternoon/evenings are going to be consumed by VBS. It is the first time our church has VBS so everything is unknown. The elders were very reluctant to approve having VBS for several reasons. Not the least being lack of confidence in the lady who has/had the passion to plan it. Who knows? It might turn out of be the best thing since sliced bread. I would be thrilled if it did! ANYway, I'll be picking up teenage volunteer at 3pm each day and spending the next 5 hours helping. I'm sure LO will have a blast......children, multiple animals, bouncy houses, pizza delivery. A five year old dream time.

Good morning, all. Sorry to be MIA for so long. No problems - just distracted.

Up and walked with DH and the dog before the sun came up. Now to get some breakfast. I found a great recipe for scones that I think i will try.

Then off to get my toes done this afternoon.

Good morning, villagers ~

Where have I been for the past few days? hmmm

* Thursday was the frustrating errand day when it took so long to get a prescription that I ran out of time to do much else.

* Friday I tried to finish errands. Found some new tops on sale but it was a struggle. I have something for DSis's annual summer party this weekend. I have a possible for DNiece's wedding in a few weeks, but will keep looking for something better.

* Saturday was social day with the family.
* Bridal shower for one of DH's nieces: crowded, hot, disorganized, no ice for the drinks. Luckily I ate a big lunch before driving up because they only had enough food for half the people. (Maybe only half of us replied to the RSVP?) It was nice to see all of DH's sisters and sisters-in-law, although DMIL did not attend. I didn't get any time to chat with the bride-to-be, but had a long conversation with another niece.

* Saturday after the shower I went to see DMom. Stopped to buy milk for her on the way because she mentioned that she was running low. She looks wonderful and says her only complaint is that she is still having trouble sleeping. She has had enough visitors to avoid cabin fever so far.

* Sunday DH wanted to go for a long, leisurely drive in the country, which was lovely.

* Yesterday was the usual try-to-catch-up Monday schedule. Ran a couple local errands. I peeked in here a few times but was pulled away before I could cuop or post anything.

Today I have a big project here at home. May or may not make a bank deposit for the library group.

Ah, it's coffee break time ... must cuop to see what y'all have been doing. BBL.

Good morning - trip to see dsis yesterday went well enough. I was back home at 8:45 after leaving about 10:30 am. I went to bed on the late side and got up around 8:30.

I need to do a desk day today and catch up on some emails and other stuff. I also probably need to go on to the grocery today - we are out of a lot of things. On the calendar, I have a meeting this evening but there have been emails this morning about whether we will meet at all, and dh scheduled landscaper/hardscaper for firepit patio to come this evening also.

I am just finishing up breakfast.

Dee, was your car okay yesterday?

LM, I have been meaning to comment to you about our ds and his "second" circumcision. The first, when he was a premie was not well done, and we decided that we would have it redone if/when he needed any surgery and anesthesia. So on his next set of ear tubes, after the ENT finished, they put him under and little deeper and did a re-circumcision. We were shocked that he bounced back so quickly - he was up and about playing that afternoon and there seemed to be little pain involved. I think he was still a toddler - younger than your LO but I don't think we used anything stronger that Advil afterward. Weird to post about it tho but I wanted to tell you of our experience.

Lucylee, I got to listen to Braves game on the radio on the road yesterday since they had a noon start!

Glad to see Helia safely home and settling back in.

Happy to see Bookie and MT coming through also.

Back from the car rental place.

I was to be upgraded but turned it down and took a Ford Fiesta from another patron who did not want it! I wanted something small for the parking garage. This is enough smaller that my bike should fit in the parking spot too, although with all the construction dust down there, I guess I won't do that.

Dh is on his way to Boston in a few minutes (he'll just be finishing up his haircut now.)

Not sure how I'm going to handle Thursday, the car goes back in the morning and I have to pick up my sister from downtown. I guess I'll be busing it since she won't have a bike at that point. Sigh...

Now to think about getting to work. It is a nice day so I want a bike ride too at some point. I haven't been since Saturday.

Good Morning, Villagers!

It'll be 87* - 90* here today. It's beautiful. But we're on the safer W. side of the mountains. I worry about the dry lightning in the forecast for E. WA State, for tomorrow, and the wildfires. It seems to never end, although ONE fire is 100% contained! They have about 3 - 4 more to contain now, from what I last heard.

My book "Hidden Treasures," by Paddi, FlyLady's real-life sister, Paddi's DD and their friend, Ken, is coming today. It'll arrive between 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., I've been emailed. I've heard very good things about it.

Dee, Your "girls day out" sounds awesome. You're so lucky. Enjoy your day.

I won't be able to get any "girls days out" for at least 1 more YEAR!

LadyM, You're so busy now! Wow! You accomplish so much! I'm glad LO will have a blast, too.

Good morning! I'm back from tutoring. It was just the 3 Asian women (2 Japanese, 1 Korean) whom I've had since January. I don't know what happened to the other students. 2 of the 3 Asian ladies didn't go to the Tuesday class while I was away. I guess that's a compliment. I got up early this morning to way overprepare, apparently. I have enough material for another 1.5 hour session. They were very chatty and did a lot of talking this morning, which is good for them. And interesting for me. I brought a world atlas, and we referred to it from time to time as we were talking about traveling. I tried to keep relating topics to their own countries.

I called the language center again immediately after I got home. The director is in a meeting. We'll see if he calls me back today. . . At least the secretary had me spell my last name. It's an unusual spelling so that should at least jog his memory.

Next: finish the a.m. routine.

Dee ~ Maybe it's time for the camp owner to hire some temporary (younger!) help with an eye to putting one or two of them in training to replace your DH when he is finally ready to stop doing such physical labor.

* I'm finally ready to donate my hair to Locks of Love but need to call around to find a stylist with connections to the group. It has taken me so long to grow my hair the required length, I do not want it thrown in the trash! I am looking for a photo of a short hairstyle that I think will work on my head. It's a challenge. I've had short hair before, and there are certain styles that are totally unflattering. For example, short layers all over is a very comfortable style in the hot summer, but it makes me look like an ugly man. I think what I'm looking for this time is quite short in back, but still long on top. The only reason for going that short is to donate as much length as possible.

Editing to add: Apparently I can mail the hair to Locks of Love myself. I just need to find a good photo, find a stylist who will pay attention to what I want for the cut, and follow the rules for donating.

The library had a subscription to a hair styling magazine for many years, but apparently they stopped taking it this year and have already discarded the back issues.
