What are you doing today to ensure the wellness of yourself and/or your family?

Healthy food bought?
Meals prepared?
Cleaning out dust and other allergens?
Providing a restful environment?
Making room for movement in your day?
Finding opportunities for laughter and music to brighten one's outlook?
Meditation/prayer/reflection time to enrich your soul?

As homemakers, so much of what we do affects our own health and the health of those around us.

Dh is congested. Since he doesn't have allergies, it is probably a cold. He hasn't been anywhere near dsil so I'm not sure where he picked it up but he's treating it with massive doses of vitamins for the moment. Thankfully, we aren't flying anywhere.

Our diet has left a lot to be desired lately. Dh loves to eat out (perhaps because he used to travel 50% of the time and ate out all the time while traveling?) and so he is always asking to go out. Tonight we have an Anglican church supper to go to back in the village. Last night he had Chinese (and a corn dog at lunch), the night before a burger, the night before that pizza. (I managed to have a frozen lasagna last night so had portion control, something not fried and I have lasagna with a big serving of salad so got my veggies in yesterday.) I wish I could point to his dinner choices and say that's why he got sick, but there isn't really any proof of that.

I will put something on in the crock pot tomorrow morning so that he won't have an excuse to go out tomorrow too!

I'm sore and limping from my bike ride yesterday but that should work itself out during the day. I have to bike for milk, grapes, potatoes and shaving cream today, so I know I'll get off on my bike. I'd also like to shop for a backpack so I'll head off to the used shops in the neighbourhood too if I can make the time.

First challenge: s2s and breakfast.

Was thinking about you this morning, Kathryn. About how you wouldn't turn on the heat until a certain date. I've been trying hard NOT to turn on the heat in the morning. Today it's chilly in here. A house would not be so cool, I know. Very hazy out and I guess it's supposed to rain again. :| We really don't need it, but when I think of the natural disasters in other parts -it's all good. At least the damage can be repaired. Though some think it should have all been done and all the water pumped out (to where?) days ago. Repairs are coming along very nicely. Several people have volunteered help and they're working on the beach diligently right now as there is a 'beach party' this weekend. At some point this week the Dept of Health is supposed to be here to test water quality so swimming will depend on that.
The back stretch and down by the dog pond is still very flooded. I hate taking my car through some of it as it just doesn't seem to be going down. Have a feeling it could be 'weeks' and not 'days'.

Had to put up meds for 2 weeks (for me) today so that's done. For some reason dh's and mine have gotten several days apart. One of these weeks I'll just do them both so we're on the same schedule again.

Tried to pay our car insurance with my bank card Monday and couldn't remember which zip code is now related to it. Only have 4 to deal with now. Ended up that the card was declined so decided to wait a few days and try again. That was until my card was 'invalid' at the restaurant yesterday. Wrote them last night & got my (almost expected) answer today. It was blocked because of the zip code issue and they sent a new card to our address on file. DD's address in FL. :| Will be calling them very soon to see if they can send one to me at our mailing address here.

My throat is decidedly scratchy. Sigh....

Still not s2s but have had breakfast, decided where the homey saying 'sticker' is going to go on the wall in kitchen (it is peel and stick and removable so not as much pressure as the last one I bought that had to be transferred to the wall) and have emailed an invite to the open house. Just thought of another one to send out.

But s2s is priority.

 On the phone with bank rep trying to straighten out my debit card. Can I say again, I have used an hour so far on this. On hold right now.

Editing: Think the issue is resolved and I have a new card on its way to ds-R's. Have to have a physical address for that type of thing. Well at least I won't have to be waiting on a new card next year. ;)

Sorry to be MIA for the last week. I didn't get back to read Lady M 's fix on ths print until this morning. It has helped a lot. Some of the problem haz been my old eyes not being able to read the tiny print. Now I can!!!!!

We have been havingsome health problems - nothing serious - just pesky. Or alot of travel. DH 's ear infection is all healed, my determotoligist surgery is benign and almost healed, ankle is still giving me fits and got another shot yesterday. As i said pesky but not serious, most entailed 2 hour drives so took a hunk out of the day.

I haven't CUOP so I don't know what is happening in the village. That is what I am going to do next. TTFN

I haven't CUOP zo I'm not sue what is happen. That is next on my list.

Oh, Dee, what a pain! I hope you have it sorted out now.

Errand day here, I need to get my list and get moving. A new grocery store opens today close to us and I am so pleased, but I'm debating going there today to buy groceries. Might be better to go to the store that's farther away, and just do a walk through of the new store w/o needing groceries? I also need a trip to Tar-jay and a couple of other errands, and I will go by the temple to sign cks, and to meet with rabbi (as he requested) at 4:30. I don't know what he wants to meet about.

Yikes, just talked to the guy who has been mowing the yard at dsis' house and he thinks there is someone living there. I am wondering now if I should get an officer from the county sheriff to go with me to ck it? And go today or tomorrow, when I'll be at dmom's already?

-breakfast/brunch and meds
-list of errands
-empty the dishwasher
-kitchen counters
-reboot laundry

Good morning, villagers ~
3Ds are in process.

I am halfway through a 459-page library book which needs to be returned tomorrow. It's really interesting so I want to finish it. I've been thinking of taking it to a park this afternoon to sit and read. It is very gloomy and supposed to rain, but I could sit in the car.

Looking at deadlines, I have a bunch of filing that should be done before a meeting tomorrow evening ( :P ) but not a priority, I could get through the meeting with the papers loose in my bag. I have met all other priority deadlines for the week.

I'm waiting on an email or phone call about helping someone with a project. I've been waiting since yesterday morning. I'll give her until after lunch, and if she hasn't contacted me by then, I'll go to the park.

And to ease my conscience, I will take the tote bag with papers and 3-hole punch along to do at least 15 minutes of filing. OK, maybe 10 minutes ... ;)

Twins'Mom ~ That is scary and sounds like a credible report from the yard guy. Yes, ask the police to meet you there. Even if the squatter is not on site when you arrive, the police can start a file and keep closer watch on the house to catch him. You want proof for the insurance company that you are doing all possible to protect the property.
