That's exactly what I need to do today -tidy up. There's a few areas that need that. At least I have the bed made, meds & breakfast done. Just finishing my coffee. Was awake about 3 hours during the night and now I'm sleepy . Dh's fire pager went off at 12:52am. A house was on fire in our town so he quickly got dressed and gone. He took the 'classic' car as all his fire gear is in that one. After he got there (it's 9 miles) there were enough fire police & the house was on a dead end street. The chief told him to come back home and go to bed. Only he didn't have his 'key' to get in the campground, so had to come around the back way -not too many people know of this way in and it's not always open. He could have called me, I sure wasn't sleeping. House was destroyed and no one was home -as far as I know they still haven't located the owners.

Only 2 more days before dd leaves for FL. We all hate to see her go, but sure dsonil will be very happy to have her back. He is always willing for her to come up here for family time but is ready for her to be home. He's really doing much better around home the longer gd16 is not there. Think they're both becoming more comfortable that her residence/situation is permanent. There's always that little niggling worry however.

DD has to be back to work on Monday, the kids return to school the following Monday.

Can see dh across the way mowing lawns. They haven't been able to mow for 2 weeks and there's still lots that can't be mowed, but getting better. Hoping the water is beginning to recede just a little. Dh walked the 'dog pond' area (where dd has her MH) and thinks some of it may be useable by Friday. Not sure how they'll get there though; the roadway in front of it is still completely under water.

Up and working early this morning. I'm happy I'm able to do this.

Worked (computer) till almost 10:00 last evening. I don't get paid enough for these long hours (sometimes nothing!)

I have more desk chores to do, then a trip to the bank, a stop for groceries, and I might just take it a little easier the rest of the day.

Tomorrow definitely needs to be a Conga Day.

I have a lot to tidy so will get working as soon as I eat breakfast.

Tea and chocolate (an extra piece this morning) is done.

Ds is home from work and in bed. He left the drapes part open and it turned out he couldn't pull them over so was making do. I pulled them shut for him and turned on the a/c so the 'white noise' will make sleeping easier for him (it is a soft fan noise and the room will get nice and cool, not stuffy.) He is exhausted after a 12 hour training shift for his new job. But he's worked 20 hours so far this week so that's all he needs to make his budget and he has shifts on Saturday and Sunday. At least he's guaranteed 35 hours every two weeks now which almost makes his budget. The downside is they are only 6 hour days so he has to work 7 out of 14 and the hours are always 12 - 6 a.m. Kind of messes with a life outside work since he'll need to stick to being awake at night as much as possible to keep from getting sick (it is often the changes from days to night that weaken people, not the night work alone.)

The new job has him working at the birthing unit, something he's avoided in the 4 years he's been at the hospital. He says pregnant women scare him, they can be mean. Interestingly, when a miscarrying woman comes in to the ER, it is the partner who worries ds since they are angry and want someone to stop the miscarriage, whereas the women seem to be accepting of what is happening. I find the difference in attitude by the mother kind of shows our animal instincts - accepting of nature if a pregnancy is failing but willing to fight tooth and nail when it is time to deliver to make sure the baby is safe. I'm not saying the woman aren't sad at the loss of the pregnancy but they aren't fighting mad like they are when it is time to give birth.

The other thing about working the birthing unit is that there is more paperwork since you admit 1 person but have to create paperwork for another, undocumented, person (at least that is the desired outcome.) So there is more attention to detail as he's responsible for creating the paperwork that starts the record that with remain with that person their whole life. The undesired outcome also worries him - he's dealt with that in the ER and hates it when babies die. It upsets him for days after.

I'm rambling and I need to go eat my breakfast now and then get to tidying. First, after I eat and s2s, I'll deal with some papers so they can be filed away.

Yes, need to tidy here as well, Dee. Hoping that Harmony gets some downtime today also - computer work is tiring going so late.

Plans are to do the run to p/u dmom's meals today and visit her, go to Y this afternoon and we need to go to some kind of memorial service tonight. I need to ck with dh about details - it's for the parent of the wife of dh's coworker and it's held at a CC. I can't quite figure out whether there's food involved (I think it starts at 6:30) or we should eat before or after.

-walk ddogs
-breakfast and meds/vitamins
-fold several loads of laundry, start a new load
-empty dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters

I love this title. I tidied up the hen house fed & released them. It was a lovely 64* out this a.m.

I have listened to the video for today of my energy profile Carol Tuttle has a few books out that I would like to read Dressing Your Type, and It's Just My Nature. But have not found them in e-book form I think w mart has 'em not sure if my store has them or not however.

Speaking of books I am behind in reading devos.

Yesterday I focused on getting out all not current crafts papers etc. Clearing the living room from those helped.

I have a wee bit more to do before mivong on to the next room...

Feedback from the real estate agent says that the people last night are definitely interested but need to sell their home first. So now I have two people in that situation. At least these people could see beyond the torn up yard, so that's a bonus.

My cousin can't meet with us the day we are driving through so it looks like we'll leave a day later and drop in on him on the way home. Which means I have to change all but one reservation! On the other hand, I don't have as rushed a Friday. I may even stick with the original plan, I have until 4 that day to cancel so could make two reservations and then cancel the one I don't need.

Yesterday I didn't get to spend as much time at the park as I'd hoped, could only be there a little over an hour. I kept thinking of "just 1 more thing" that needed to be done before I could leave the house -- probably because I felt guilty taking off with cleaning left undone. That's the thing, there will always be something that needs to be cleaned. I need to keep reminding myself that even P&P advocated for at least 1 free afternoon each week.

The park was beautiful but surprisingly busy for a Wednesday. I had to move a couple times to get away from noise -- first from park workers with heavy equipment getting some work done between weekends, and then from a couple cars full of people who decided that out of the whole huge state park, they just had to be in the same spot I was parked.

I finished the library book. FelineFriend, there is someone else waiting for the book, that's why I didn't want to renew it. It's just as well, the 2nd half of the book did not hold my attention the way the 1st half did. I did a bunch of speed reading and skipping, and finished it last night.

Library group meeting tonight.

Hopefully the meeting will be quick. There is a show about preppers on the NatGeo channel that looks interesting, and it starts at 8. The description mentions a man in Missouri building a self-contained ecosystem for 60 relatives, and another man storing food and water for 20 people. I might be able to learn a couple new ideas for preparing for winter storms.

School supplies: I'm almost out of paper for my printer so I checked at the Tiny Town dollar store and thought the price looked really high. However, I just looked at the WM site and an office supply site, and now the dollar store price doesn't look too bad. Obviously it's been a couple years since I've had to buy a box of paper. I don't go though as much of it as I used to, though, so now I only want to buy a couple reams at a time.

Getting things put away and back into the groove. It takes a while to get all "the balls juggling" again.

Duds - load waiting, load washing, load drying
Dinner - meals planned and prep'd
Dishes - Kitchen cleaned up and DW emptied

B: Smoothie - milk, protein & fruit
L: Chicken, salad, leftover sides
D: BBQ sandwiches, chips & fresh salsa

There are a dozen (plus) OMM situations but they are documented so resting as easy as can be until time & focus can be turned to them.

I'm having an "off" and bad morning! My peak flow meter was extremely low, so I had to use my rescue inhaler. The med in it makes me "shaky" and makes me pee a lot (sorry - TMI?) and that's just the beginning. I dropped yogurt on my black top, FlyLady emails won't come in, no matter than I unsubscribe and RE-subscribe, and my coffee's hitting me "wrong" or is it shakiness from the inhaler?

Dear Sweet GS is in the shower now. He and DH will go to Costco today. It's the first day of the coupons and there were things we buy regularly that with a coupon are so much cheaper. So THAT'S good.

I woke up weighing a LOT more than I did earlier in the week. I'm totally blown away and no wonder why I'm wearing size 18-W jeans again! They're the biggest ones I've got, too. Oh, not all is bad though. I still have the ARC donation here with 2 prs. of denim leggings, which are loose in the waist and SO comfy. I CAN wear them. I have 7 boxes, for ARC, 6 are full, but DH needs to go through his clothes. Now that I'm thinking about my denim leggins, my morning seems to be taking a turn for the better. ♥ I should just say "THIS IS TEMPORARY- THIS WILL PASS!" about my weight. Yes, I've indulged while Dgs has been here. I'm starting fresh today, will TIDY and keep my house and me on track. I LOVE to set my timer for 15 minutes, then go tidy, putter, and put out hot spots, and move-move-move on my feet all those 15-minutes. If I stop in one spot, while tidying, I march in place, as to not lose the momentum. I'll do that today, so while I'm tidying up, I'll be earning feel-good endorphins, which will help turn this odd morning of mine around into a FAB one.

Oh, you ladies are so GREAT for my mood on "odd" mornings when everything's going wrong. You have a way to turn a frown upside-down, just by being YOU and being here.

I'll do laundry today, MT the DW, etc...

Oh, Dee... Your poor DH and coming home from the fire and being told to go home. How frustrating for him. You'll miss your DD!
