TIP TOE TUESDAY

I'm tiptoe -ing around this morning as I woke very early and DH is still sleeping.
After 1 1/2 days off my foot it is much better. It started with what the Dr. said was an inflamed nerve. Then he hit a vein when he did the shot. Bruising is almost gone as is the swelling.

Happy for the Dee's new car and KIC's house sale.

Hope for a great day for all.

 This post just sat there & I was glad to see MT open in the meantime. I'm cutting & pasting.
Enjoy that new-car smell.
I will enjoy that for as long as it lasts. I know all too well after many new cars that the excitement and the newness wears off very quickly. We've bought 'program' cars the last couple and dh decided he wanted a 'new' car, thinking it's quite likely the last he will buy. But much like Kathryn, I get that awful sick feeling at spending so much money at one crack. Financial advisor states the money should be in our account by Monday, so that's when we'll pick it up. Meantime I have to get proof that he's a retiree from the Big Yellow Box or get a code from the company (I T T) that bought that division out in 2003. That'll take another $300 off the price. Dh was really not happy with the trade in, but it is what it is. And we had 156,000 miles on it. We bought it only a few months old in '07 with 21,000 miles. Now I'm somewhat nervous about managing with the space in a car (we got a Dodge 200, 2015 -had planned on a '14 so were surprised it was '15 at really the same price). We finally realized it's the first for a car for me. We always had wagons, full size vans or mini-vans ever since I got my license at 24. We don't do payments either, Harmony, so taking that big a chunk out of retirement was hard for me.

Kathryn, congratulations on the house sale. Will be praying for DS to easily find a different abode.

I too, was shocked and saddened at Robin Williams' death. For one who gave so much pleasure to others, it's sad he could not give it to himself.

Finally got my BS back into a very good range. Last week was pretty much a bust and my weight also reflected it.

I just had to stop by this morning to offer my good wishes.

Congratulations on the new car, Dee!! Enjoy!! Happy for you two. :)
Also, I'm happy for Kathryn and Ken and hope the sale goes through. Must be a little disappointing to not get as much as you'd hoped, but an offer is a good thing and it likely would be nice to have that issue resolved.
Stay safe, FF.
Yes, i had the same reaction to the news of Robin Williams' death, shock and sadness.

I was up around 7 a.m. to take dd16 to the buses at the school as the high school's music program is heading up to Interlochen Music Camp for the week. I think they take about 8 or 9 coaches. Band has 3. Dd16 is a bit nervous b/c she is going to camp as first oboe since the regular first oboist, who is phenomenal and has now been picked up as a private student by the big University's oboe professor, is playing the English horn. BUT. . . there's no guarantee she will remain in that chair. Things are always competitive and chair auditions are Thursday. :? Dd16 will stay on first oboe part, no matter the outcome, but she could slip to 2nd chair. In the meantime, dd16 will tune the band (first oboe always does that) and play the solos.

I unexpectedly ran into several friends at the drop off who have incoming freshmen in the music program. It will be fun to see everyone at the big concert on Sunday! One of the other high schools in town, not our main competitor, will be at Interlochen the same week, so between the 2 schools, there will be a small contingent of church families at the concert. :)

today, I need to do my a.m. routine, catch up on bedding and towel laundry, go to B and N and buy a TOEFL prep book, read that chapter that I'm still procrastinating on  and email my mentoree. . . . AND prep a bit for my 2 interviews tomorrow.

I'm awake. I awoke at 7:30 ready to roll out of bed. Dh had been up an hour at that point without me realizing.

He has to have a productive day today. Yesterday was a right-off for him. He had a frustrating time with a fellow committee member (so hours of work, no pay) and then he had a nap for quite a while. Finally the house sale sucked the evening hours away from himself.

Not sure I believe the house sale. Something could still go wrong with their sale which would impact mine.

Ds is looking for a house to buy. Not sure why, he won't qualify for a mortgage on his own, TGF will have to be here and working before they'd qualify. But he's looking for houses in villages now, not acreage. The one he found online last night has a good-sized shed and his plan is to move into the shed and rent the house out to cover the mortgage!

Ds is here sleeping now but there's a renovation happening upstairs over the living room/bedroom wing of our apartment so I'm not sure how well he'll sleep.

We were to get rain today and it is threatening but for now it is sunshine. I'm wanting a bike ride but really think that might be just a way to procrastinate packing or working. Still have to finish the install of the accounting software. I have the software installed but haven't migrated my data yet.

BTW: as Dee said, I get sick when I spend large amounts of money. Interestingly, I'm sick over the sale of the house. Dh says that illogical, I'm receiving money. I think it is because I keep wondering if I made the best deal.

Interestingly, I'm sick over the sale of the house.
I get that, completely, Kathryn! I still wish we'd held out for more (we didn't HAVE to sell) and often miss certain aspects of that home. I guess I always will.

I'm slowly getting ready to go out the door. I absolutely have to go to W mart or somewhere similar for ink for my printer. Have things I really need to print and I think it's because the color ink is so low -but it's not saying it's out. So I'm somewhat confused as to why it's not printing. Need to print off a statement I just found in our benefits that states dh is a retiree of K odak. Not sure it'll be proof enough though. I need a bank deposit statement from way back then (2003) to show his annuity from there being deposited. He actually took a lump sum when he retired (thankfully) but a small portion had to be allotted to an annuity. And I do mean small -$157.20 a month -but it's nice knowing that's going in every month. Used to way more than pay our health insurance premium -not any more by a long shot.

Hugs - prayers for all those financial and health things. (((Dee, KinCs, Emptynester - I know there are others.)

my day in a nutshell - bin day. Tossed things from each room. Filled bin with yard waste. dead branched. They protested at being tossed in bin by interlocking. Posted a card.
Prayers for all who struggle ... In memory of Robin Williams.

Miss Dd15 is driving with her instructor! She was about as nervous as humanly possible, about what to wear, whether to drink much water, eat, etc. Then worried at the prospect of who her companion driver might be, since there was at least one boy in her class whose exuberant conduct and language was crazy-making to her. Happily, an equally wide-eyed girl stepped out of a nearby car to say "hello" shyly, and so the two (although they hardly know each other yet) will do well together, I'm sure. Instructor is well known to them as a security guard at their school, working for the driver instruction firm through the summer.

Oh, how can it be, Harriet? Seems like she was just a very young thing, sitting outside B ob E vans and drawing pictures of dh and I (which we still have btw). Learner's permits aren't obtainable in NY State until 16. Of course she's not far off is she. Wow, how time has flown.

We haven't told anyone yet (except our dSHEvillage) that we got a new car. Have been emptying our mini-van under cover of darkness. So, as our dks find out, think I'll have dh take a picture of me with our new velvet red car and text it to dd. She was going to get a price for us in FL, but with the engine light coming on -who knows what that was, didn't want to chance driving it all that way and then driving a new one back, only to return to FL. The light went out last night -dh thinks it might be the oxygen sensor too, Harmony. Everything else checks out. But time to trader 'er in.
