Suddenly Saturday!!!

Good morning! And I do mean morning, it is 12:15 am where I am sitting. I was moving along, balancing my checkbook, when a dialog box comes up saying the date has changed! At first, my thought was "What's the matter with my computer?", but then I realized it just meant I had Quicken open past midnight. I think my printer is on its last legs though. Frequently, it decides it needs to align the print heads. Instead of printing one page for alignment, I have to repeat the process over and over until I lose count. Maddening because I really don't need the extra expense.
I need to get to bed, but there are things I must do first: cat care, me care, extreme catbox clean. Probably other stuff too, but I am not going to deal with it. G'night.

Went to bed early. Slept in past 8. I seem to be getting the hang of vacation (and that's the first night I was in bed before 11:30.)
Dh suspected I'd have a terrible sleep quality but it was 75%. He had a lousy sleep but then didn't hear me go to the bathroom at 5 (how he missed it, I don't know because I'm incredibly noisy as I limp across the room, grabbing on to the walls and furniture for support.)
The sun is out again but clouds are thickening up quickly as I drink my tea. I heard rain when I was up in the night, but just a gentle rain. The forecast for today is cloudy. The cabin is cool but not quite cold enough for a fire. Ds has been tossing his tissues into the fireplace so we will have to have a fire before we leave!
I had planned to get up early and swim. I got up late so am not sure if I'll bother trying the swim or not. If it was sunny, I might walk all that way, betting the pool will be empty because the beach was too inviting. But with the cool and the cloud, I'm betting the pool might be busy.

You scared me, Kathryn, when you said, "8". I quickly tried to see the clock and then realized you're an hour ahead of us right now. Have to be up to the rec hall in 1/2 hour or so. I'm not real happy about it. Have been up early every day to sit dgs9 and was hoping to sleep in just a little bit today (especially since it was another horrible night of (not) sleeping). There's a 'garage' sale there today and dh has been bringing stuff down from the storage unit to try to sell -which means I have to be there since he works today. My feeling is that this will be pretty much a bust and not worth the time and effort to set things out. It's a 'closed' sale -meaning only people already in here (not public) can go. It's a pretty limited 'audience'. Oh well, venting and pouting over.
I'm up and d2slippers. Need to get meds, etc.
There's a big open house (their 20th anniversary) where we got our car. Dh wants me to go there to see if I can find out how to get the navigation system on our car. Also absolutely need to hit W mart and get the car back here before 5 so dh can have it. He plans to go to dgs14's race tonight. All in all I'm really just dreading today -but I just have to get through 1 day.
It's very foggy, damp and cool out this morning. I'm not sure what the forecast is -haven't looked yet.
Ok, Dee, get busy -get the BGS working!

Good Morning All.
It is still dark here so waiting for a bit more light before I walk the dog. In the meantime the great horned owl is hooting in our tree. There is a pair who have nested here for years (well maybe not the same ones - I wonder how long they live)
Dee - I would stay away from the dealership - use the telephone. Is it to find out how the nav works or get one installed. I would think if you don't have one installed - a portable garmin would be a lot less expensive.
One more day to pack up the MH and spiff the house. Of course, my bones have decided to hurt and I had a hard time getting around yesterday. I hope today is better.

Good morning, villagers ~
I've had sort of a downer of a week after Monday, just not feeling too swell I guess. I did get a lot done around the house on Monday, but very unproductive days Tues-Wed-Thurs. I had hoped to use big blocks of time for decluttering, but that did not happen.
It picked up a little yesterday, though, and I woke up today with enough ooomph to jump right into a project.
I have several old files on my old computer that are in a program that I don't have on the newer pc. I had to move the monitor cable over to the old machine and plug everything back in to fire it up to convert some documents to OpenOffice. The files are on a thumb drive now and (obviously) the monitor is back on the newer machine.
I'm going to eat breakfast and cuop before I transfer those files from the widget to my new hard drive. Then I'll have to check each document to see if everything converted correctly.
BTW while I had the old machine together, I played 2 games of Freecell. I sure miss that game! It did not come with this newer pc's Win8.1 and when I went to look for it, it turned into such a hassle to download a free version from the internet that I decided to skip it. I will eventually need to do some more file conversions from the old machine, so it will be fun to have a few quick games on the way.

Still sitting here at the kitchen table. I have had my tea and chocolate.
Spent the time reviewing eating plans and thinking about what I eat. Am journalling each day this month so that offers 'food for thought.' The goal is to journal, not judge, so my food choices are often terrible, but I'm not judging myself, I'm observing the results of the terrible choices (which are not all negative.... just saying....)
My bathing suit and cover up clothes are laid out so I'm going to get into them and limp on up to the lodge. Won't bother staying if the pool is full of kids. Doing 20 minutes of treading/swimming while avoiding splashes and listening to the echoing screams will be beyond my abilities.

Doing 20 minutes of treading/swimming while avoiding splashes and listening to the echoing screams
This made me nod and smile. Wednesday after school I took LO to public pool two towns over. I spent 45 minutes treading/walking in the center of the pool (about 5' of water) while LO played. There was a life guard on duty to watch LO, so I just totally enjoyed the experience. I blocked out the 20+ kids playing/diving in the pool on both ends and just zoned into my own mental space
......except for the time they blasted me with a water gun......that only happened once though. I came home relaxed, refreshed and wanting to visit the pool again.
Yesterday I put on some stylish flip flops to wear with my stylish girl jeans. While loading bags into the vehicle I stepped on something uneven causing my foot to slip sideways off the flip-flop (about 2" high). DOWN I went HARD. My hands were full so I took the brunt of landing on my right knee. My knee is skinned, swollen and tender but I think it will be okay. I woke up twice during the night to put ice on it. DH wants me to go get it xrayed but I want to give it time. If the knee is messed up they won't do anything until the swelling goes down so we will see how it goes. I am not taking any pain meds and using pain to tell me what not to do. When I do something that makes it hurt.... then I stop doing that. Simple.
Lesson learned......go back to what works! Jeans and boots. Boring but effective. I have never been hurt while wearing boots.

I have on a red shirt had just opened up the top of the coop hens were cackling a bit much so I went out to check on them, pulled some weeds looked up to see a hawk swooping down only 2' above me I screemed stood up told the hens to run for cover they did. That got my heart going. I closed up the coop and went to the front yard to plant my new rose bush and replant the other one that was not deep enough. I still have a new iris bulb to put in not sure where yet maybe had just thought of a place. More digging my shoulder is better but I am babying it today. The sunflower seed sack is only #20 I will slide it on a towel instead of lifting it.
