Worthwhile:
adj.
sufficiently important, rewarding, or valuable to take the time, or effort

It's tough to prioritize, but we all have to do it! First things first!

I look at my calendar and have NOTHING written down. Can it be I have a 'free day'? Do have to do laundry and I have quite large loads to do. Was going to do it after we returned from the Dr's yesterday, after dcompany had left. Didn't happen -I was absolutely exhausted. But then I couldn't sleep last night. Fell asleep quickly during AGT (and we turned it off and didn't finish watching the 2nd half at all). But then I awoke around midnight. Know I was still up & down around 4 -but after that? NOTHING until 8;15! Never even heard dh getting ready to leave and I was in the recliner so should have heard him rustling around. Not.

Sun is shining brightly -hoping it'll warm up some before I head to the laundry.

Dh ended up with a LOT to deal with yesterday. Hopefully today will be a better day for him.

I'll probably nap this afternoon as I have to pick dd up at the airport at 11pm. So it's going to be near midnight before I even get back here. Have to put some beverage in her fridge today for her so she at least has something to drink tonight.

Just finished my meds. Now for breakfast and a cup of java to perhaps spur me on a little bit. Will try to cuop while I sip that.

Cuop from yesterday. Liked your little tidbit, Harmony:
I have a file box/bin with file folders labeled in groups - appliances, office equipment, furniture, small kitchen equipment, garden, etc. I keep all guarantees, manuals in there plus receipts with copies of the receipts. The receipts fade over time and become useless! It helps when the resident mr. fix-it goes to repair something around here.
I always had files at home for appliances, etc but not so much since we've lived in the RV. It's somewhat haphazard. But I remembered seeing a file box in the back of my closet this week that probably has little or nothing in it. I could easily convert that to just such a file bin. Like the idea of copying the receipts. Was looking for the receipt for our new apartment size fridge earlier this summer. (Dh was convinced it wasn't working right -think we just need to make sure it's defrosted from time to time). I never did find the receipt which really baffled me as I usually keep those kinds of things. And often I've just stuck description cards or instructions to some of dh's plantings in a drawer. Could put them in the file as well and always know where to go. What a concept!

Lilac, sure hope you get to feeling better soon. Same goes for Ken and for MT. Hope you're able to move around more, MT.

I had a good night's sleep last night. Dakota woke me barking at the coyotes - I told her she lived in the desert and to over it.

We are waiting for the big rain that is sopposed to start this afternoon. I have to go up the hill for Dr. checkup so I hope it holds off till I get home.

Time for S2S.

Hope you have safe (dry) travels, MT.

Finally s2s and have done a round robin. Was easy to set things aright since I cleaned fairly well prior to company. Nice, cause now I can get started (really started) on packing/preparing to leave. I leave 4 weeks from tomorrow as long as there are no snags or flies in the ointment.

Have to do dishes and laundry. So think I'll finish up in here. Check over dh's lists (as well as my own). Fix dh's lunch (and mine probably). After all that I'll go up on the hill to do the laundry. Absolutely/positively have to do it today.

Need to take over beverages for dd and get them in the fridge. Also have a couple of dishes waiting here to go to her MH.

Wish I could figure out a different place to 'hide' our dirty laundry other than in the shower. I sure do like having it empty. Dsisil took her shower in there yesterday. Didn't want to send her to the shower room -too doggone cold for us! Dh does take his there, but once in a while he foregoes one if he's relatively clean and just plain tuckered.

Apron on! Dishcloth at the ready! She's off>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm up and at it.

We have two matching chests of drawers (high-boy style) in the kitchen. They hold a ton of stuff, in fact one drawer is almost empty. Anyway, on top were two beautiful boxes that held stationery originally. Their contents need to find homes. One is my father's navigation instruments and still don't have a home. The second contained the contents of the fridge at home (magnets, etc.) and a off some small shelves in the kitchen.

I've sent the kids a picture of the items I'm parting with just to make sure none were important to them (fridge magnets in particular are something our family is sentimental over.)

In the meantime, one of the two boxes is emptied.

I've also made up a chart of the week divided into early morning, late morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, evening sections and filled in when we are occupied. Monday afternoon is choir practice, Monday night is school for me, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning dh has conference calls, Wednesday night he's hoping will be choir night (he goes tonight to audition) and I've bought tickets to plays on Thursday nights.

Last night I bought tickets to 4 plays of this year's season at the National Arts Centre (the closest thing we have to a National Theater) and so have deemed Thursdays our entertainment night. We won't go out every week but if we are planning to see a movie, I'd like Thursday night to be the night we go if at all possible. And already, four months of the year Thursday night is now spoken for. Thankfully, with the package, we can cancel up to 24 hours prior and shift to another evening or another event at the Arts Centre (which has 200 events a year.) So we aren't locked in with this subscription.

Part of the reason we moved into the city was to do more and but before we say yes to too much, we need to plan ahead so we aren't overwhelmed, just pleasantly active.

Ds called and I'll meet him at the rental agency for 1:30 to apply for the apartment there. I think it is the best choice for him so am relieved. Location is good, there's storage for our stuff and For now, I'm footing the bill for all of this and will add it to his debt. Sigh.... (He's been living rent-free and working since he came home but doesn't have any money saved up because he traveled during that time so spent money plus didn't have money coming in.)

Speaking of being pleasantly active, I need to bike over to the bank now and get the cheque for the rent.

Once that "s" word hits, Kathryn, how do you plan to get around. Car, bus? Both? Glad ds has made a decision. Sounds like a win/win for you.

Pretty well caught up in here. Trying to decide just when to leave to go do laundry. Want to time it so I can be here to get dh's lunch before I head back to fold dry laundry. Only takes a little 1/2 hour to wash but an hour to dry. So I'll stay up there until they're ready for the dryer twin. Of course this all depends on whether the washers are unoccupied. I'm off, once more>>>>>>>>>>

Morning ya'll...

I am like MT waiting for the rain. However looking at my radar screen I don't believe we will see anything like the area got last Monday... Plus good news for MT the rain seems to be drifting in a NE direction which means her area may not receive as much as mine. Yesterday I had light rain and drizzle. Today it is overcast with rain clouds drifting overhead. Just in a wait and see mode.

Much of last week's flooding was caused by water pumps not working. By the time those who oversee the run off waters realized the mechanical failures it was too late and flooding had already begun. It was a too little too late sort of thing. Also the Phoenix area is one of many huge water canals which were first developed 10,000 years ago by the Hohokum Indians who designed the system to bring water to the desert. Water runoff is a huge problem in the area because the ground is hard like cement and doesn't absorb the rain.

To address this problem the cities have water retention areas.... Usually city parks and such... Which fill with water and "hold" it until the canals can handle all the runoff. The problem with the last storm was the area received more rain in one day than had ever been recorded... Hence this hundred year storm reeked havoc on systems that were calculated and designed to hold less water... So the outcome was much worse than had been planned for.

I don't have much planned for today; just regular routines and such. Going to do some meal planning and enjoy that rainy day feeling... That doesn't happen much around here

Good morning, villagers ~
* I've done some paperwork and Emails this morning.
* Researched and printed instructions for a very complicated Lego kit. Someone donated a bag full of pieces but no pictures or instructions. :? Luckily a couple of the parts are distinctive enough that I could figure out at least 1 of the kits involved. There may be another truck in there, too, but I won't know until someone puts together the huge heavy loader.
* Dried a load of laundry, folded, and put away.
* Dishes are soaking in the sink.
* I took the trash and recycling out to the garage so they will be ready to go to the curb tonight.
* I'm just about ready go to the library to set up tables & chairs for Lego Club.

Waiting to s2s until after lunch, then I'll put on clean clothes before I go play with the kids.
