WEDNESDAY WANNA'S

Post by DeeClutter »

What do you really 'wanna' do today? For me, I think it's not so much 'wanna' as 'have to'.

Have an appointment at 10:40 (or 10:50 -depending on which I believe: the time the receptionist gave me OR the time on my patient portal :? ). So will be there for the earlier time. Wanted to get it well ahead of my journey south as I usually am 'under the weather' about 3 days after I get it. Will remember to take t ylenol before I go today.

Managed to mess up our living space at least twice yesterday -cleaned it up once and now it needs doing again. But, I am getting things done and packed for dh and myself. This is a whole new experience, trying to pack separately and leave him enough to use in the 2 - 2 1/2 weeks after I leave. Not an easy project. If I were just going to be gone and him staying here, that would be different. But I know I have to gear it all toward his departure and the closing of the RV. I really don't like this.

Now I'm working on going through all those magazine articles and sorting them as to subject. I'll file them all away when I get to FL -probably. Need to have dh let me into the storage area to take out whatever else he needs to bring with him. Not too much. I'm hoping, as I look around, that there's a lot less than other years.

Dh winterized one RV last night who normally have the RV ready to close -not this time. He had to move furniture, etc before he could put in the slides. They also usually have anti-freeze waiting -not this time. But they paid him well so he's not complaining. He does buy anti-freeze for the fall and has an ample supply.

Better get s2s and get my day on>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Good Morning, All.

Thanks for opening the village this morning, Dee. I look forward to the time when your DH will not be working and will be able to travel with you. I also hope that you will be able to do more traveling that just from NY to FL and back. There is a beautiful country out there to see.

We had our big financial meeting last night and it only lasted 1 hour 20 minutes. This was in response to a professional audit of last year's books. (We had been doing the books for the Fire Recovery and needed to be transparent) Of course, they found some weaknesses in our system. So our meeting last night was to write financial policy for the future. I was acting secretary but I was able to get most of the minutes typed up after we got home last night. This morning I tweaked them and sent the draft off to the Pastor for proofing.

I might be doing more of this as the current Clerk is retiring and they are looking to me for the job. We'll see. It isn't like I've never done this before - I'm just not sure if I want to do it again.

After we walk the dog, we are heading for town for groceries. Then more time working on my list. It is working out well and the house (minus the den) are looking good.

Think I will read a bit until DH gets up. TTFN

Afraid if I read, I'd fall right back to sleep!

S2s, meds done, bed made, now doing breakfast. Have to leave in less than hour.

It's very dreary and misty this morning. Think it's still o' dark thirty still. Good thing I didn't depend on Mr. Sun to get me up and rolling today.

Up and about here and need to get moving as usual! Thanks to our Mods for getting new October threads started this morning!

I identified with Lucylee and FF last night when the posted about their DHs interrupting. My dh does the same, usually asking me a question about what I'm telling him before I get to the end of what I'm trying to tell him; usually it's in a different direction and once I change directions I can't remember the pt of what I was trying to tell him.

Today is errand day here - groceries, cleaners, I don't know what else. I need to continue with desk day too.

-walk ddogs
-brush/floss teeth, wash face
-start a lol
-make the bed
-groc list

Good morning, villagers ~
New monthly threads are popping up around the forum today.

Here are my 5x5 goals for today, in addition to 3Ds:
* finish month-end reports for library group
* new fiscal year spreadsheets for library group
* month-end reports for sewing group
* extra push to gather trash and recycling to put on the curb tonight
* start my new October goal I'm calling 1+1

1+1 =
* 1 walk (minimum 10 minutes, preferably outdoors) at least 5 days each week
* 1 cubic foot area of empty space recovered each day

The walking goal is inspired by 2 things. Weather conditions -- The leaves are turning and falling, and it is not unusual for us to be under snow the week of Halloween, so I want to get outdoors while the weather is cool but not yucky. Sewing retreat mid-month -- one of my favorite parts of the fall retreat is taking a walk around the campground every day; if I can do it those 4 days in a row, why not every day the rest of the month?

The 1 cubic foot goal is a game to jazz up decluttering efforts. I have a plastic crate that size to use as a guide, whether I literally fill the crate or use it to measure something else. Meeting that goal today will be easy because the box for recycling is twice that size -- so it's almost cheating, but I'm going to count it for a good start to the month! ;)

(Editing to change square foot to cubic foot, because we live in a 3-dimensional house.)

Good morning! And it is actually morning! I woke up at 845 (early for me) worried that the interviewer had emailed me a time rather than called. I called him yesterday, but his phone went direct to voice mail and I have no way of knowing whether he got it. I checked my email and had nothing from him. So, I emailed him back with a suggested time (1030), with the option of calling ANYTIME. I just want to get it dealt with. It's funny, I am really more nervous about this than I was for the original interview. Not nervous about the actual conversation, nervous about MISSING it.

Last night, I finished cutting the fabric for the Anna dress. I almost didn't have enough. I needed 70", so I got 2 yards. That's right, 2" to spare. And let me tell you, I DON'T recommend cutting it that close. If the original cuts are not quite straight, you can be short. Also, you don't have enough scrap fabric to practice on and get your tension right! I did not start sewing for the simple reason that I did not have any matching thread. I don't even have any white thread!!! How can that be??? So today will include a trip to the fabric store, but not until AFTER the phone interview!!! I must also get my act in gear and send my dad pictures from his trip. And the usual job search stuff.

I emailed the interviewer before coming here and was going to check back before leaving the computer. I just noticed he has replied and will call me at 1030. Whew!!! Now, I no longer have to worry about missing him. Now I am going back to bed for ~30 minutes. But you can bet my phone will be right next to me!!!

Ok, now I am nervous about the conversation.

When I do get a job, one of my first purchases will be pajamas that don't have large holes in the arms. BRR.

That 'interruption' process happens all the time for me with Dsisil! Happens more and more often over the past few years. Know how frustrating that can be. I've almost stopped sharing altogether, because I feel she's not listening anyway and shortly into my sentence(s) she's off on a different tale altogether. Feel like she's not listening at all. :?

Been to the Dr's and got my flu shot for 2014. Stopped at the post office and left our change of address card for the winter. Handed it right to the postal clerk -she made a note to herself then and there. Nice going to a small post office. :)

Now, I (don't) wanna work on health insurance. People across from us got their letter from MVP on Monday, stating that MVP Gold would no longer be available. Expecting we'll get the same letter soon. There will be another plan available but at a much greater cost. They already raised it a lot last year. I know there are those who pay a lot more a month than we do, however when dh retired from the Big Yellow Box, he was told we had the best health care going -until we reached 65 they should have said. Last year I was afraid to change carriers because of all of dh's health issues after his valve replacement. Now I'll have to find out if all our doctors take B C/ B S -sure they do, but need to check. First up will be go to I T T (dh's division of the Big Yellow Box was sold to them about 6 years ago -thankfully so for the most part since this huge company had to declare bankruptcy last year and most retirees have lost all their benefits -health, life insurance, retirements) At the time dh was working there, this company had over 70,000 workers in our area. Now it's less than 3,000. Hard to believe since they were the pioneers in digital photography!

I wanna work from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. with 2 breaks and 1 lunch hour, in my office or on stories by hand or outlines, in the great room. That's what I WANNA do! I just got an early start on my Desk Day & Anti-Procrastination Day by researching about birds on-line, for a story, and signed up for a birds newsletter in the process! They talk about caged birds AND wild birds. We're avid bird-watchers. :) :) So I started work early, and will be able to break early or end early today. I have 2 stories to log and sub. Then it's onto writing by hand, outlines, etc....

I don't have enough LOL to do today, so that's nice. DH empties the DW for us, which is nice. He gets the mail, will mail a contract for me, and tends the fire, so we're toasty warm, and that's nice, too!

Dee, I know what "interruptions" are like, TOO!  I just bite my tongue and try to be patient.

Good luck, Elizabeth! :D

Waving to Booksaver, Nancy, Twins' Mom, MT, Harriet, Harmony, RR, LM, Harriet, Kathryn, and Everyone who comes after me. Sorry, but this is a quick C. I. I need to get to work. I might BBL, after I get some work done. Have a great October 1! Happy October to you All! :D

Gotta post here quick without cuop's. I'd just sat down for a rest and a read. Then I got the phone call that our door frames were in and I must go pick them up and take to jobsite.

I worked on that blasted bed thing all evening and all morning and it's done to the best of my ability. I worked on the stains, the ones that were there when she gave it to me  and the couple from my pricked fingers and thank goodness mine came out and hers lightened.

I have it laying out on a bed now and it looks acceptable. SO GLAD THAT'S DONE.

bbl after I run my errand.
