MONDAY MOJO

Is your mojo in motion? Must energize mine soon. Do have the bed made, meds done and just finished breakfast. I slept well until 4a.m. and then that's all she wrote. Dh wasn't in bed -said he came out about 3 because I was snoring? ME snore?? Never.

I need to go write a praise in J&C. Better there than here I think.

Have no idea what happened with dh's coffee this morning. We have a quite new dual maker -one for up to 12 cups and a single k cup brewer. I noticed that the mug dh uses for his 1 cupper was full of grounds this morning -sure hope he didn't drink that cup of java! :o I've just made a cup for myself and am hoping it's not the same. Nope -it's fine. I'm wondering if I put that same cup in twice as I was having a little difficulty remembering if I had put water in twice and took out the coffee and ran the water through -it was just one. So of course then I put the coffee back in and another mug of water.

It's Apron Day in my household.

An Apron Attitude (paraphrasing the famous Maggie, published in Hillbilly Housewife)

Reassure yourself and others of your intention and status in the home.
Remind yourself of duty, inspire yourself to greater levels of cleanliness.

And reaffirm your AUTHORITY in the home.

Is it time in your home, as it is in mine, to get down to serious normalcy? Will you have an Apron Attitude today? Or perhaps even tie an apron on for part of the day.

Enjoy your authority today. 8-)

I am in my absolute favorite because I am SO SERIOUS - my blue full apron with the yellow flowers and yellow piping. The one that makes me look slim, which is a trick for an apron! (Vertical piping)

First load of laundry is in dryer and second in washer. Dishes put away, new dishes washed and counter ready for cleaning. Then the kitchen floor needs attention.

Harriet, you do have mojo today! An apron does make a big difference (IMHO). Mine will be going on as part of my morning attire.

Dh plans to bring the truck here later today and if it's decent out we might get some things packed in the truck bed. That will certainly free up space in here and I can make it more presentable.

I'm trying to work toward going to the laundry room to do 1 LOL this morning. I'm only hesitating because it's so chilly out and the laundry room is certainly not heated -but it's a 'have to' today. Last night Elizabeth was running out of toilet paper and today I'll run out of undies. I'm really already out except I packed 2 pair in my overnight bag -only to have to take out one today. I'm planning to do my last laundry next Tuesday or Wednesday but maybe some will get done sooner.

Can't figure out why I'm so cold when the thermostat reads 72! :? Not a first by any means.

Harriet hope your days get better as you prepare for dd34 and dfamily to arrive. Enough said!

Before I can adopt apron day I must s2s. While an apron without clothes might meet with dh's approval, it doesn't quite project the authority that Harriet was talking about!

I slept in late. Had a rough 90 minutes in the middle of the night, not exactly sure why because there was nothing in particular my mind was mulling (good or bad), nor did I feel awake. I just felt sleepless.

Wrote my friend this morning with another interpretation of yesterday's scripture which I had the good sense not to say aloud during the service. He asked a question of the congregation about what we thought about the parable and I answered, even though no-one else would speak up because they prefer to leave the work to the preacher whereas I prefer to debate the preacher!

Thinking of colouring my hair today as well. So really need to get moving before the day slips away from me completely.

nor did I feel awake. I just felt sleepless.
I can equal that statement many nights, Kathryn.

Can't tell if I'm feeling rather 'punky' because I'm tired or if it's finally my flu shot last week finally rearing its ugly head. Know I just keep feeling like laying my head down. Did doze a little bit between 9:30 & 10. Feeling a little achy. If this is the worst it gets, I'm good! :?

Thinking about going east to a town about 14 miles from here. Want to look at W mart to see if they have the same slacks as the one where I was yesterday. Pants look perfect -just not in my size -every one BUT. So windy and cold out again today. Good thing I'm heading south soon as I find myself wanting to just snuggle in here and NOT go out.

Hoping dh will want to put some of these things in the truck this afternoon -IF it warms up a little.

Good morning, I've lolly gagged long enough that the rain and thunder started up. Maybe I'll get a break to walk the ddogs in a few.

I obviously didn't work on a to-do list for today or for the week.

To get rolling.....
-breakfast and meds
-clear kitchen counters
-empty dishwasher
-start a lol
-clear breakfast bar

I think I've finally figured out a place to stash the bamboo trays that we used for Rosh Hashanah overflow eating on the lap, so that will empty up the breakfast bar.

Still not dressed but I've got the henna in my hair. Still 40 minutes to go and with the towels wrapped around my head there isn't much I can do because my glasses don't stay on and I'm pretty blind without them.

Dee dh asked me why I didn't take the vitamins he'd put out for me last night. I added my Advil to the pile, walked across the room to get my water and got distracted so forgot. No wonder I couldn't sleep - I felt achy but didn't take another pill because 4 hours had not passed since bedtime. Of course, I hadn't actually taken a pill at bedtime. Nice to know that I'm not taking them for no reason!

Dd called and is feeling too ill to do anything today. Good thing since I don't have any time for her but it relieves my guilt. This week will be a long one for her as she awaits the next stage of the IVF process. Hopefully that is on Saturday since I'm away during the following week so can't drive her to/from the clinic (she'll be on relaxers so can't drive or take the bus and her dh can't drive so it is me or a taxi since her brother is sleeping after an overnight.)

Ds now has internet at his place but he'll be over here at some point today to do laundry. I am going through the rag box deciding what I want to keep. I finally realized that 1) I need lots of beach towels if I'm swimming a lot and 2) I need several large junk towels for things like hair colouring, drying the car or cleaning up large spills. At the same time, ds has no rags so he will share in my abundance of rags, dish towels and old bath towels.

Mojo was definitely missing when I rolled out of bed this morning, but after forcing myself to follow hourly cards I'm starting to find my groove. The first 5 hours of cards have been attempted, with a good showing. I'm not on the top of my game today, but I am playing with heart. :)

Extras completed so far -
** put 12 lbs of pork ribs on to slow cook. The Instant Pot couldn't hold them all so I also have some slowly cooking on the stove top.
** Make 10 servings of jello and put the individual containers into the refrigerator.
** stripped the bed and have sheets washing
** made appointment for LO to receive his flu nasal spray this afternoon. I'll be getting him out of school early to go to doc appt for ear tubes/hearing check-up. We will just add another stop at his pediatric doctor office (only about a mile out of the way).
** called my doc office 3 times......received busy signal each time. I'll continue trying to find out about my flu shot availablity.
** Registered and logged into new banking website. Same bank as before but they launched a new online software today. Called and visited with them about difference in available balances. They have some tweaking to do to the software.
** Txt with DDIL. She sent me pictures of DSon at NFL game yesterday. He was drafted (not volunteered) to be the IT support on the sidelines for the game and ended up being on TV. I wasn't able to watch the game so DDIL sent me pictures that she took.

I'm not sure of mojo, but I'm trying.

I find it amusing that the other day I couldn't find anything to do around here. Yeah, right. Sun. it took me about 5 hours to get the house tip-top, so I'm thinking the stuff I needed to do the other day was stuff I just didn't want to do! Anyway, we're in great shape here now.

Good thing, because I had a hard time sleeping last evening. Felt like my tummy was trying to get sick. And I was trying to get a headache. I think I am feeling less than wonderful because of lack of sleep.

I did do my dailies and updated some spreadsheets. I have errands to run outside the house (3) but am awaiting a delivery and don't dare be gone for that. So everything's in limbo right now. Come on freight truck, let's get this done!

Am I the only one here who refuses to get flu shots?
