Tuesday Ta-Dahs!

It is so easy to open the village when Feline gives us a name the night before! That way, if I don't have inspiration I can just grab her name (much like me using the scripture reading to write prayers when I don't have a clue myself.)

Anyway.....

What ta-dahs are hoping for today? What ta-dahs did you have today? Did the before list and after list actually line up or did you go down Distraction Drive at some point during the day?!

Progress is happening in the apartment. I'm putting some stuff away, hiding other piles, and neatly piling yet more things in corners. Our friends are here to see us so it doesn't really matter. Plus the view distracts everyone (I love how the super missed the bike in the living room when he talked about how nice it looked!)

The bike is on the balcony now and a pile of things to go to ds's in its place. Kitchen is done, laundry room is done (but I might fold the laundry when the dryer stops.) Bedroom is done. Spare bedroom has stuff piled and hidden (the closet barely closes!) Living room is a good as it will get (sigh...) as is the office (which is pretty good.) That leaves the dining room (papers all over the table) and the guest bath (the broom closet needs to be organized so that it will take all the cleaning items I brought from the house.)

Then a quick dust and vacuum.

I have just over 2 hours to accomplish all that (plus s2s and pay some bills.) God has 5 hours to clear the heavy mist/rain out of here and turn on the colours.

Before the airport, we have a stop at the lawyer to hand over the keys, a deposit slip and sign the final sale documents, and hopefully a stop at the bank to empty our old safety deposit box (although that might get tossed from my schedule due to time constraints.)

We are turning over two keys. Forgot to get ds's yesterday and one has gone missing in the past 5 months. The hidden key remains outside at the house because the new owners need into the house first thing on Thursday and last time they didn't get the keys to their house until 5 p.m. So they asked us (privately, we don't tell lawyers this stuff) and will let themselves in when it is convenient for them. That means I can get in too (will do so tomorrow, I think, and leave some flowers and a welcome home note for them.)

Time to *poof* and accumulate some ta-dahs!

Good Morning!

I'm switching our breakfast menu from summer to winter type meals. That means I put away the blender (used to make cold smoothies) and start using the oven again! I made a HUGE batch of muffin mixture this morning. The batter is suppose to last 6 weeks in the refrigerator but I suspect it will be used up long before that. I did tweak the recipe quite a bit and will be adding more fruit to the batter as I bake each time. This morning I added pears to the muffins. The fruit adds extra sweetness and makes them JUST PLAIN YUMMY! (IMHO). I use muffin top pan to bake them and then put 2 on my plate for breakfast. However, they are so filling that after eating only one of the muffin tops, I was full. DH was hesitant and took one bite of muffin before declaring 'These are GOOD!!".

Totally skippable - TMI warning -
I don't remember having to teach my children how to do so many things. Maybe I did and just don't remember it. I'm going back to the basics with LO on several simple items. How to wipe his bottom being the most recent. How can he be messing up on this??? He came home from school with **crap** up his back side. He usually uses the bathroom before he takes a bath at night so maybe that is the reason it hasn't showed up as a problem. I tried showing and telling him how, but he still wasn't following instructions. I googled for ideas and then used one that I found. I felt a little foolish, but tried it anyway - put/smear peanut butter on a plate, then use it to illustrate how to fold toilet paper and wipe, repeat until no peanut butter is on the folded paper. That held his interest and added a "fun" factor to the lesson. He was totally into learning and stayed with it until completing the task. Then we just had to add which direction and area to wipe on his body. HOPEFULLY this is the last time we will ever have to have a "wiping lesson"!

I am looking for ideas how to teach LO to keep a positive attitude and cut the whining and complaining remarks. He is picking up some bad habits from a couple of his classmates. I am struggling to find good comments coming from him so I can praise him. I don't want to be getting onto him all the time trying to teach him to be more positive. That seems a lose-lose.

I frequently remind myself 'THIS is my problem????" This is not a problem.....this is easily solvable. I just need to find a way to get-er-done.

I could use some tadas today also. I got up late because I was up during the night with dMacs when we had T-storms around 4:15...was close to 6 before I went back to sleep and then 8:30 (eeeek!) when I got up.

I've done some a.m. routine, it's misty outside but will take ddogs for walk next. Today needs to be desk day..

LM, very creative with the peanut butter.

Waiting at the car dealership....

When I leave here, I hope to have a ta-da with that darn purse. I'm returning it and will look for another. I'm about to give up... Wish I could find one Just Exactly Like my old one -- only in better condition.

Gone Girl. Hmmmm... Well, it is exactly like the book, which is normally a good thing, but in this case, no. I loved the book, but hated the ending, and I had heard somewhere that the movie changed the ending. Well -- it doesn't. So -- yeah. I was disappointed for a SECOND time with this story! DH did not know the story, and he was surprised where he was supposed to be surprised, but he said it went downhill from there.
Plus, I did not need to see this movie with all the other stuff rolling around in my head lately.
If you have NOT read the book, it IS a pretty intriguing thriller, a few gory/bloody scenes. Just don't expect a neat, tidy ending.

LadyM, I remember one dgs getting in trouble because in Kindergarden he did not know how to do said skill and was asking teacher to do it for him... I guess DD was still attending him... maybe it was preschool.... but I sure love the peanut butter solution!

Clouds are drifting in and grey skies. We might get a little rain. My flower seeds are coming up in the planter out front.

I've been puttering around. Cleaned out glove box and console in car while I was looking for battery receipt. Battery is about a year old. Sometimes I think it sounds a bit sluggish starting... so if it isn't the battery (shoudn't be after only a year) then what is it? I tried it this morning and it revved right up. Meeting at church tonight and I will be coming out at dark so a bit concerned. Hopefully not a starter...

Desk chores done. Dailies done. Waiting for someone to come pick up a check. He never came yesterday like he said he was going to.

Think I'll go put some rollers in my hair and do a manicure. Looking a little rough around the edges!

Lucylee, would you say the book is worth reading?

Happy Tuesday everyone.

I made an early-morning home improvement store run with HRH, in an attempt to find several supplies incidental to the bathroom redo. We have organized the under-cabinet spaces with new pull-out drawers and a second tote. I already keep cleaning supplies in a large rubbermaid-type tote under the sink, so if anything spills it is contained. The second tote will be for liquid med/toiletries I think, such as sunscreen, after-sun balm, insect repellent, poison ivy wash, the grandboys' shampoo/soap combo, etc.

We also got a small area rug for his office, light bulbs, etc. We did not find the stain we needed.

Oh, by the way, the medicine cabinet he simply HAD to have is completed by the cabinet-maker and the hinges put on on the left (a real stickler in purchasing one of these, strangely enough) and is on its way.

Congratulations, Elizabeth's Own Car Company on 150,000 miles.

Now, about this business of Kathryn taking a class in sinning. :| Of course we all believe in continuing education, and we understand that students sometimes need remedial coursework in a subject. However, I believe this may be going a bit far. It's like riding a bicycle, Kathryn. Once you know how, you can always figure out how to do it again.

Mornin' Y'all. It has been a strange morning because of a strange night. Woke about 2 and couldn't go back to sleep, so out to the chair. Read until about 4 and then slept until 6. So I'm moving kinda slow. S2BF and a LOL in plus breakfast and meds is all I have done so far. I'll get moving soon, I hope.

Need to do some paperwork that I need for Dr. tomorrow. Not happy with the portal from our hospital. It shows that I was there, which Dr. ordered the test and the test but no results. For DH it doesn't even show he was there, I had to call for test results. IT dept just gave me excuses and a lot of complaints abut the system. You know - blame it on the computer rather than on the idiot who can't program.

Time to flip the twins. TTFN

Harmony -- the book is quite a page-turner, that's for sure. But the ending was very dissatisfying to me. I don't know if I'd recommend it or not. I might read her other books though, so I guess I would recommend it-- just be prepared that it may not end well. It was really a mystery that would make you think.

LOVE Harriet's take on the sin class...

Thinking about dLO... DS is right -- potty training is going to make things worse, NOT better, at least for a while.

I also sleepy.
