Tuesday Ta-Dahs!

What the heck - last week's thread was such a success, let's try it again.

Last week I had to have one ta-dah for each hour. To reiterate, each ta-dah can take only a few minutes, it doesn't have to be a whole hour! What we are shooting for is 10 - 14 items accomplished by bedtime (depending on when you join in and what time you go to bed!)

Had another rough night. I think it is my pain level (knees, foot.)

I've suggested the first time/date for my walking group so by the end of the day our first walk will be set up. We have bad knees in common so walking poles, slow pace and short walks are our trademark. The fitbit forum software creates a leader-board for 'clubs' and we are all part of the Ottawa club, nestled between 75 and 150 on the leader-board! The runners or those who walk for their work (i.e. nurses) are the people up at the top.

Have decided to go to a movie this afternoon but to skip swimming this morning (much to dh's surprise.) I'm just too tired to get going and I want to have ta-dahs here instead of taking 100+ minutes away from home. Sure I still have to shower and s2s but that takes only 30 minutes and I can multi-task when I do it at home.

First challenge: finish refilling the vitamin dispenser and wind the clocks. (both of these are Sunday chores.) Then I'll strip the bed and s2s (which will count for the next hour.)

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, Kathryn.
I had fun last week on Ta-Dah Tuesday, so I will be joining in again.

DH was home yesterday which threw off my plans. I should start testing strategies now to use after he retires or I'm going to get in real trouble! ;)

Goals for today:
* Laundry, thankfully not quite as much as last week
* Finish state tax forms which must be postmarked by the 31st (giving up on the idea that I will ever do them earlier than the deadline)
* Clean out my car
* Research insurance question

My car is still full of things that DMIL gave me Sunday. All I have brought in so far is a bag full of cotton yarn in pretty colors which I will use to crochet dish cloths. Rather than bring everything else into the house, I'm going to take a trash bag out to the car and try to be ruthless about only keeping what I will use immediately. The rest will go straight into the trash bin in the garage.

Harriet and HRH have a granddaughter, how exciting! :D

Does anyone happen to have a good recipe for flavored instant oatmeal? I don't have many packets left and don't really want to buy more. I find the purchased mixes too sweet. I know there are recipes all over the internet but thought one of you might have tried one you like.

No Ta-Dahs to report yet, but dishes are soaking in the sink and baking soda/vinegar combo is working in a drain.

Taking a break while I take my pill. BTW, there are signs this morning that my digestive system is returning to normal. Although with little calcium, no daily mulit-vitamins, no added iron and limited dietary iron, no chocolate and no added zinc, you'd expect a difference in my system.

8 - 9 - refilled vitamin dispenser, wound clocks, washed the few hand dishes that were waiting.
9 - 10 - confirmed meeting up with dd later, set up new kettle, washed old, swept the apartment, wiped up spots off the kitchen floor.

I still have to s2s plus strip and remake the bed.

Bookie, I find the packaged stuff too sweet also. I buy the large container of minute oats and add craisins and walnuts myself. This morning dfriends advised that a little salt is needed as well, but it works well for me. When I worked outside the home, I packaged up in sandwich bags to go to work with me.

K in C or other mod. I have a mod. Q. I no longer use Yahoo messinger and cannot figure out how to remove that button from my profile.

Today trash cans are out to the curb here and next door.

H wants the camping list so I need to get that out and sort out the gear. H wants a cot so we will be looking for that as well.

I have a pen pal letter to get ready to mail.

Time to turn off the hens light and let em out.

Nancy: I think all you have to do is go to User Control Panel (a button at the top of this page) and select profile and delete the Yahoo info from that part.

8 - 9 - refilled vitamin dispenser, wound clocks, washed the few hand dishes that were waiting.
9 - 10 - confirmed meeting up with dd later, set up new kettle, washed old, swept the apartment, wiped up spots off the kitchen floor.
10 - 11 - confirmed first walking date for tomorrow, s2s, took pill
11 - 12 - stripped and remade bed, hugged ds, garbage out, hugged ds, mixed plain yogurt & berries together in the hopes that I'll like it. Added sugar. Hugged ds.

(Ds showed up unexpectedly and I'm going out! Sigh...., haven't seen him since before Thanksgiving.)

Chocking down the yogurt now. It isn't too horrible (i.e. I don't have to use water to wash it down.) On the other hand, I must remember to defrost the berries next time!

Next up is lunch and the movie so I'll be behind on my ta-dahs for a while.

I feel like I am starting over on a Monday - has almost felt like a very intense vacation with these friends here - lots and lots of talking and I am worn out from it. Probably not as bad as I would be w most people - I love them, but glad to see them go also.

I need to get the rest of my week in order - I've barely sat down to look ahead at the rest of the week. Need to visit dsis this week, probably tomorrow, and do the usual on Thursday and see dmom. Today I have "body work" at 3 p.m. and need to do desk day also.

Before I do anything else, I need to walk the ddogs...

(And before walking out of the house w a dog, dd called and I lost another 10 minutes. I guess I'll get plenty of alone time if I go see dsis tomorrow

Whoops, this did not post before I walked the ddogs...I'm now back.

I'm back from church (had Willing Workers -we work on ripping & sewing sheets for bandages which are later sent to Africa). So guess that's one of my ta-dah's for this morning.

8-9: S2s, meds, Breakfast, bed made
9-11:30: At church working, filled the car with gas (It's $2.82 here now), drove home & have my apron on.
Now for a bite of lunch and then I'll see what ta-dah's I can perform between then and 4 o'clock.

Talked to dh for a bit this morning. He wanted to know what clothes I had for him to wear down. :? I had told him everything was on 2 hangers in his closet including his jeans, flannel shirt, t-shirt, undershorts and his compression socks. He had part of them but not the whole outfit. His plan is to winterize our RV this evening and spending the next 3 evenings at ds-A's. They'll be turning off the water at the campground tomorrow evening and blowing the lines on Thursday. He plans to leave there early Friday morning. Hoping he gets out of Dodge before the bad weather hits -supposedly Saturday there's a frozen mix coming. What's your weather report, Kathryn?

Off I go>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
