Snowed under Sunday

Nope, I don't have snow. But our radio news this morning pointed out that there's snow near Harriet, Twins, and AtlanticFlyer. Not sure about others (I don't know where all the SHEs live.)

It is cold here but no snow.

My inside surfaces are covered with the white stuff, though. Papers.

Did you remember to reset your clocks?!

If you didn't, good news, you have an extra hour today!

Another poor night's sleep for me, better than recently but still poor. Ack! I just realized I'm supposed to be eating right now!

<Later - after getting breakfast made>

I went to bed feeling really sick. Had an extra pillow so I could sleep sitting up and slept like that until 2:30. Took another pain pill (for knees) in the night and my sleep record is better but still not acceptable.

Tummy is upset this morning and I haven't even had my pill yet. Weight is steady despite my horrendous diet.

Having my tea, toast and berries now. Had a banana to start because never got around to eating one yesterday.

I feel for you Kathryn - needing to go through this extended time of antibiotics messing up your innards and your routines. I hope you feel better when the regime comes to an end.

My sleep is out of wack too. Hoping to do better tonight, but doing better would mean I was in bed now.
I missed church this morning, and tai chi yesterday. Today I did do a few jobs around the house - specialised on a couple of windows and screens.
I had an unfortunate ph call today - that told me of my long list of failings! And that I am angry. Fancy that.
Praying for them, and for me too that I don't bite anyone's head off. Then they might see what my anger could be, and what it hasn't been up until now with them.
grocery store, then walked dog.
Had an afternoon nap, mtg this evening, and tossed a couple of leftovers so now there is more room in the fridge

Good night all.

No snow here in the Sunshine State, but the temp. was 47* when I woke up this morning. Desktop weather now says near 55*.

I talked with ds#2 last evening and he will let us know today if they will be down for supper today. We also discussed the car dgd19 is using. We had received a call from our ins. co. re her accident in Sept. They are wanting us to add her to our policy as a driver, which would, of course raise our rates. The problem is she doesn't live here, but with her own parents. She is on their policy - different company. The ideal thing is to get the car out of my name into one of theirs, which was the original intention, but we put it off due to the raise of cost in their insurance for them. In the end they decided that ddil will go sometime this week to transfer it. Then we can notify our company which will lower our policy by half.

So far today we've had breakfast, attended to ddogs, watched church online, cleaned the kitchen. Sundays are usually when I look over the calendar for the week and start a grocery list, etc. I think dh has a blood test due soon. We'll probably watch the Buccaneers/Browns game this afternoon and the Steelers/Ravens game at 8:30 pm. Or maybe one of the PBS stations.....

Pro football's on at our house, as we clean up bird seed from the main office floor, taken in there, overnight, by a little mouse. I've stripped the floor of the office closet on 1 side, DH is stripping the other side, and is sweeping it. We're trying to find a mouse bed, we hope. We have a kitty cat, but she rarely goes into the main office, especially when the winter fire's burning. She practically lives in front of the fire. I didn't expect to find bird seed all over the floor. The little bugger must have been busy in the night. It wasn't there last night!

It's dry, was sunny, here, but rains come Monday through Thursday.

I'll "try" to finish the afghan for DGD today. Am running out of steam on it, want to just get it done, so I can do something fun, like write stories by the deadline. It's so hard to "balance" work with everything else, but I seem to manage. Only cried 1 time this a.m., as I'm totally frustrated. I'm feeling like just because I crochet, people "expect" crocheted gifts, but THIS IS NOT TRUE! It's my "frustration" talking. I'm tired, mainly, I started crocheting afghans early in the summer, so this last #3 one will be making me a very happy lady, once it's done. It's going to be so pretty, too. Also, when I find out the kitchen colors, of 3 friends' kitchens, find I have the yarn on hand, why not make them something useful? So it's be nice to be able to do that, too. I'm just tired today, am feeling sorry for myself, and need to get a rest and move on. I enjoy crocheting very much, but the amount of crochet this year, for December, has been too much. Next year, I'll make things, throughout the year, so it doesn't all hit in the summer/fall months. I have some ideas for the 3 youngest grands, too. It's so fun to plan. It's hard to do the work, but once it's finally done- it's so rewarding!

Oh! DH couldn't find ANY mouse bed! I wonder "where" the mouse went? It's vanished. Oh, well. I think it's good there's no mouse bed!

Have a great "Snowed under Sunday" and I honestly HOPE YOU ARE NOT-NOT-NOT snowed under!

No snow in the Niagara peninsula. I have plenty of the other white stuff times 2. Papers and dust. I also need to sweep.

Wayne and I went fishing this morning. Altogether we caught 8 fish.

We also... (shhh on F Book) are about to welcome someone into our family. We adopted a 3 year old female cat. "Iris" is a tabby cat according to her paperwork. A domestic shorthair with the most beautiful green eyes. We went to W almart this morning and Wayne bought her 4 toys! Sheesh! Guess who is going to be a spoiled little princess???

Congrats on the new kitty, CathyS!

Looks like a very quiet day in the village!

Dh and I left at 9 a.m. (new time) and went to Knoxville for brunch with dd - very good time and we all got along nicely. She is going to take GRE and it sounds like she may actually do some prep for it. She sounds somewhat together about it all. Last night dh and I talked to friends whose daughter did a lot of baby sitting for us - turns out that their dd worked in the undergrad career counseling dept at UTK so we mothers set them up to get together since they are both in Knoxville now. DD rolled her eyes, of course.

Warm enough this afternoon for dh to do the last mow of the year hopefully and I did the poop scooping. Had a little nap in the car also.

FF, hope you find that mouse! Can you get the kitty to help?

I am nodding in agreement and hoping that the test comes back negative for Lyme so the regimen can be discontinued.

So sorry for Lynlee's unfortunate phone call - certainly says more about the caller than about you!

I am going to finish looking at the morning paper then get started with chili for our supper tonight.

CathyS , Your cat sounds SWEET!

I washed 4 mirrors with Windex and coffee filters. Read the paper in the filters doesn't leave fuzzy remainders and cleans better than paper towels or dishtowels, too. Works into a sparkling clean mirror for us. (I need to use them on my 2 china cabinet glass shelves/mirrors, before Thanksgiving!). DH took the garage outdoors to the can, I put in a fresh bag, inside, and fixed my pills for the week.

The afghan is coming together quite nicely. I'm so excited about how cute it's looking now. When I've edged it, I'll "copy" it with 4 Granny squares, I've already got made, for the dolly blanket. ;) I've decided, too, how it would be nice, to get an early jump-start on 2015 crochet and make 3 Granny Afghan Ripples, from scraps, to use my "stash" up. I've got several bins of yarn, that it's embarrassing how much yarn I've got. I'd love to empty out those bins, stack them 1 inside the other, with the lids stacked in a stack in the top empty bin, too. You never know when bins can come in handy.

It's raining here, it's very grey outdoors, but I welcome it, whereas I would not welcome snow today. I found some old running shoes, which are Nike Airs, and I wore them several years ago, before I wore AFO's. Since the AFO's broke prior to Autumn, I no longer need to wear Men's size 12 shoes to accommodate the large/long AFO's. I'm wearing women's size 11 now, which look smaller, are much more comfy, have cushion in my steps, as I go about the house and I'm thankful I didn't donate them. I'm saving us $$, by not needing to go out and buy a new pair. Yes, it pays to save things in your closet, if you have the room to store them, for a rainy day, rather than purge, donate, through into the garbage and needing to go buy something new. It wastes $$, IMHO. I think, by saving clothes, if you bloom bigger or shrink smaller, for awhile, too, how you never know when you'll need to wear them again. If I donated clothes, every time I gained 10 Lbs. or lost 15 Lbs., I'd have spent a ton of $$ and for what? Yes, I hang onto things for a rainy day, but if there are things, 4 - 6 sizes too large, well, then I bless somebody else with them.

I'd better get back to my puttering around and the afghan. It's funny how, NOW, I'm "excited" about looking forward to the New Year, doing early work on crocheting afghans. I love the fact that, as crochet relaxes me, I'm getting something concrete, made to bless others with. I have so many afghans here, in our house, I'd love to just put finished afghans, into the hope chest, to save for a rainy day, or the holidays next year.

Twins' , We cleaned out the closet. There's no mouse in the house right now. We don't know where it went, why it visited or where it was going with all that bird seed either. DKitty, occasionally does help, but she never kills them. She brings them to us, in the great room, lets them "loose", so DH grabs his welding gloves, runs all around the great room-dining room area, trying to catch the loose mouse. I try to remain calm, put my feet up, in hopes it won't come over to me. It's really funny, when this happens. DH puts them outdoors again.

Have a great afternoon, Everybody!
BBL- hopefully.

Quiet day here in the village.

I'm done for church for the day and took 23 minutes to lie down and shut my eyes.

My tummy has been feeling awful all day. We got to church with no time to spare since we had to practice anthems etc. before service so I had no time to run to the general store for a Dr. Pepper. There was a generic tin of 'pepsi' leftover from our last supper so I helped myself to that and it helped get some belches out before service.

By lunch I was feeling awful again. We picked up Dr. Pepper and I settled for a ham and cheese sandwich (no way I could manage chili or even a blt) and I took an advil and a tums to help with the pain (it was 3 hours after the pill by then so I could take a tums which is on the no-no list within 3 hours of a pill.)

I managed to get through my service but was awfully weak. Stayed in the car for the first store but joined dh in Costco since I needed them to look at my repaired glasses (they've been done properly now) and to stand on the Dr. Scholls machine for new/extra orthotics. My old ones have 100's of miles on them now so I decided to pick up fresh ones now that I'm walking even more.

We are home now. Dinner will be leftover potato leak soup and biscuits (also leftover.) Dh might have a sandwich with that.

Then I have to hope I'm feeling better because this place is showing the effects of me being under the weather. It is awful - there are piles everywhere. The bedroom is almost ok (but very dusty) and 70% of the kitchen is fine, but the rest is a mess.

I have a very busy weekend next weekend (I'm helping run workshops and concerts at a festival of spirituality and the arts) so I can't be feeling as sick as I feel now. I picked up some probiotics at Costco since, at 23 cents a pill, they are way cheaper than yogurt and don't have calories. Hopefully, they'll help more, or at least help me recover after this is all over.
