Blessed: thanks for the tea. I brought along my chocolate, I hope you don't mind!

I'm really enjoying my tea this morning. Because I can have milk in it, I have switched back to black tea from green tea for the first time in 3 weeks. I really do prefer it. Treated myself to two pieces of chocolate (2/3 of an ounce) because this is the first I've been able to have it with my tea in almost as long (I snuck a piece on Friday morning to help my system get moving.)

It is 8 a.m. but I don't have to worry about choking down my breakfast, I can sit here and relax, then s2s, and then come back for my cereal. That feels like luxury.

My tummy still isn't settled. I'm not sure how long that will take to happen. I'll be sure to take a probiotic today. I forgot it on Sunday and yesterday although I did have yogurt last night. One more yogurt in the fridge and then that will be eaten up. It was fine for emergency treatment but I far prefer the pill which worked much, much, better and doesn't add 100 calories to my day (so I can have extra chocolate!!!)

Today is a mish-mash. In Canada it is Remembrance Day, and the country will pause at 11 for a moment of silence to remember those killed in the line of duty. Dd and dsil will be down at the National War Memorial. My instructor from last night will be at our National Military Cemetery, doing the service there. Dh and I will stay home, even though it is sunny and will be warmish, something that is unusual for this date. Normally it is grey and snow/rain as if the weather is trying to make us feel more bleak.

Ds is coming over and at 11:30 we'll head downtown and meet up with dd and dsil for lunch. Dh and I have hair appointments at 1:45.

I have Presbytery tonight but might skip the meal since I will have eaten all my calories, plus some by that point, so something very light will be in order. I have to drive to the meeting tonight so will head off around 5:30 or 6. Either that or go very early, get parking and then walk over to a Subway if I can find one nearby.

So it is a varied day for me. I'll do my best to take care of it (and me) all through it.

Just poking my head in -know I've been MIA the past few days. And now, today, I really don't have time to cuop. Have a meeting in an hour. (I've been having big computer issues, but think some of them are now okay????) DD has today off for the first time ever.

I've thought about Kathryn (and LadyM too) over the last couple of days. DSonil was offered a job in Tampa -a much longer drive from here. Sounds like he's going to take it. BUT that means that we're most likely looking at a move. It's working for the same company he works for now in Plant City. They're willing to discuss a raise 'to keep you'. He's working 30 hours right now and this will be full time and the hours a little different. DD was looking at houses in the Valrico area last night -they need something so they both can commute to work. At any rate my mind is racing and thinking, "I have to clean out AGAIN??????" I should know better by now.

Had church council meeting last night -it was a fun meeting, albeit, S kype. I had changed our pastor's name in our membership book before I left but someone said to me, "perhaps she isn't changing it". Ooops. So I asked her last night and actually it was the first topic on her monthly report. She was showing off her new NY State driver's license -especially since none of us have one of the new ones. And of course that meant she had changed her last name.

Today, here in the U.S., is Veterans Day, Kathryn -same thing pretty much. It's also dgs's birthday -turns 10 today. Think he was just born about 6 months ago. DS-R and DDIL#1 both have the day off as county employees.

Have to run -did want to say how happy I am that you can return to normal eating, Kathryn. May it all get better from here.............
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Thank you for the lovely breakfast, blessed. :) Any day is lovely when you are here with your positive energy. Did you get the pictures off the wall? How nice to have new paint in the home!

Glad you can eat normally again, Kathryn. Are you sharing the chocolate?

Oh, another move, Dee. Congrats to dsil! I hope it is a good career move for him. I rarely have time to properly cuops - but I sometimes post anyway.

Lilac, that is too funny that your dh is also on prednisone and an antibiotic!! I am so glad that he is feeling better too. I understand that prednisone is a steroid that will help reduce inflammation and itching.

Well, my morning "date" just emailed to cancel. The family has made an emergency room visit -- not sure why. they are newly arrived from the UK so they may not have GPs set up yet. He is working with dh on a project, and she went to the moms group last week.

I am concerned for them -- but this also gives me a free morning this week, which feels absolutely luxurious. I'm toying with the idea of going for a jog a little later, after my tea has moved through my digestive system a bit. (I jog on a fairly empty stomach.) The morning looks gorgeous - clear blue skies and sunshine. It is forecast to get up to 60 today! Then, starting tomorrow, the temps are going to dip down a good 20 degrees. It seems we are either unusually warm - or unusually cold. How about just some average normal temps? Can I just order that? LOL!

I have had some tea and am running the dw since that didn't get done last night. I've fed the g. pigs, helped feed the dogs, and have done all Pepper's morning medications. I've also sent out a couple moms group emails.

Morning goals:
- a.m. routine
- change MBR sheets
- make a li$t for this week.
- prep for R/W class
- prep for S/L class
- maybe pull together the quiz for S/L class.
- maybe go for a jog. Or maybe at least a walk. . . .

One board reminder this morning... ...
“There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people...religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.” - Peanuts character Linus Van Pelt, 1961

Our PODAs (Parade of Daily Adventures) include the religious parts of our lives, we definitely discuss them in PWYC, and in fact, all over the boards. These are part of our time management topics and daily schedules, even if they aren't directly tied to home maintenance.

But we have always agreed to avoid religious discussions in our public areas, since we want everyone to feel comfortable. For instance, on another subject we avoid, we definitely chat about our schedule when voting, or about dodging all the phone calls around election times. However, we don't get into political discussions.

In the Reading thread, everyone's always interested in titles of books we've read. And if we do want to offer religious links, or make further research suggestions, what if we posted those within monthly Retreat threads or seasonally in a Lenten thread? Private messaging is always a good idea for continuing a conversation with someone.

I obviously haven't laughed a lot in a while because I'm sore now.

Since there a number of SHEs in the village who have had, or will have, real estate experiences in the past year, these terrible photos of listings may be of interest.

If you are in the mood for a distraction and a belly laugh, check out the first two pages of these terrible real estate photos. You can check out all 23 pages if you want, but I managed to stop myself after 4 and the first two were enough, with the last one on the second page being appropriate for SHEs struggling with Mount Washmore.

Oh my goodness, those were hilarious, Kathryn! You have to wonder what people were thinking with some of them. . .Thanks for the chocolate!!

Nice reminder, Harriet. I try to avoid talking about the Great Pumpkin too. :)

Back to trying not to be distracted. On to the a.m. routine.

Good morning! Another gorgeous day here and I am lovin' bw2's breakfast buffet and Kathryn's chocolate! Dh gets home this evening, I think around 10 p.m. and I'll pick him up at the airport - otherwise have an unfettered day with a long list that I started last night.

I either don't get to a list at all, or put everything in the world on it.

I had a really productive good day yesterday. I took a break after the garage work, then wiped out the garage refrigerator, swept the back patio, purged the refrigerator, got the trash out, went to the vet to p/u meds for the ddog, cooked myself a piece of salmon for supper and did the usual evening things: walk dogs, meds, planning and reading....so much so that I didn't go to bed until midnight and then couldn't sleep until past one p.m.

At this point I have five items to deal w via email (so far) five phone calls, two house tasks (so far) and two errands. Also it's desk day and I have a pile of paper accumulated...

Right now:
-kitchen counter/breakfast bar clean up.
-start a lol
-make the bed
-brush teeth, wash up, etc. and get dressed
-walk the ddogs
