First Monday of February and we're watching Groundhogs for the first signs of spring!

Let's make it count, whether there's more winter on the way or an early spring. What can you do today to get ahead for the week?

I'm wanting signs of change.
Trying the FL thing again. Not that FL likes the use of the trying word.
cleared some stuff from near front door and swept there.

Must get busy and get things done today!

-reschedule PT for me for later in the day
-dMacs PT at 11 a.m.
-call vet to make appt to get dMacs stitches out today
-do some garage clearing - box up some towels and old sheets to go to animal shelter
-what else?

Tomorrow I have to report for jury duty at 9:30. Ugh. Don't know how much that will tie up the rest of the week, and next?

Lynlee, FL thing?

Great title and theme for today, Twins. I have the opportunity to get ahead for the week because everything here is closed down, including the big U. This is only the 2nd time in 37 years it has closed. The other time was about a year ago due to cold temps. This time, it is due to snow depth and blowing winds. DD16's school is closed. My school is closed. My tutee canceled last night. The synagogue is closed, so Hebrew class has been moved to Thursday evening. . .. I can stay home all day if I want to!! :) I might actually go out to the library/a coffee shop to work at some point this afternoon. A change of scenery often helps me. If the gym is open, I might stop by there too. . .

Good for you doing what you need to do to make a change, Lynlee. FlyLady?

So far today, I have:
- tried to figure out how much snow we got. I think the total is 12+ inches.
- made a cup of tea
- let dogs out. Let dogs in.
- shoveled walkway and part of front porch
- walked to end of driveway to give dfriend R a copy of their house key since dfriend S apparently locked him out accidentally. Though the big U is closed, its hospital is not and so dfriend R has to go to work. I'm thankful for that!

Things I'd like to do to get ahead for my week:
- New Year Cards - significant progress (I made progress at the solo/ensemble festival on Saturday)
- Moms group teaching - significant progress
- Heb. translation, finish if I can (for Thursday)
- dig out from the snow

Next for me:
- QT
- s2s and self-care
- laundry update

Good morning and Happy Ground hogs day to you all! Thank you Twins! I am so happy you arrived home safely.

This morning the dogs at first baulked at going outside - I couldn't get the back door open because of the snow. i pushed the dogs out... ;) very funny... once they realized I wasn't going to let them stay in ... they starting jumping through the snow.

O'hare got 19" and I think ours was about 18" - loving it! dd wanted me to go with her for a couple more days downtown especially with the weather. Schools closed in Chicago which is unusual. DD and I got to the train on time and downtown is not busy like usual.

I think what I love about this type of weather is how people help each other... with the snow not shoveled at corners - I saw a couple people offering the hand to others that struggled getting over the mounds of snow.

D Helia enjoy your day off of a schedule! I hope your dd enjoys the time as well... I know she will! awesome on your progress on New Years cards!

D Twins a very appropriate start to our day! I am hoping that You don't have to be tied up with Jury duty.

D lynn. lots of blessings to you as you work on FL.

Before I left I got a load of laundry on and put the dishwasher on after feeding the dogs.

Goal tonight: visit d uncle - to stay on top of things swipe the bathroom with wipes - wash one section in dogs room - put laundry away from this morning - make soup for tomorrow's dinner... simple chicken noodle - pull a couple donations and put in dh's car. I asked dh to straighten the family room today, if he could.

Trying to remember the groundhog rules - local "news" says six more weeks of winter here but I think that means he should have seen his shadow? It's overcast here, was sleeting/raining a bit earlier and the wind is blowing like crazy. I'll take spring myself.

I called to reschedule my PT at 1 p.m. so first out of the house task is to have Macs at PT at 11 a.m., a little more than an hour.

-s2s
-kitchen counters
-unpack back pack
-unpack bag and put it away
-look at EOBs and unprocessed papers re notice we rec'd that we haven't paid medical provider

Helia, glad for the snow day for you!

Bw2, you're upbeat and positive as usual. Can't believe you're out in the snow today!

My dh said the same thing... lol. This morning I had to put garbage bags and duck tape over my pants and shoes to get to my car as the walk re-snowed itself. It was up to my knees by the house. I thought for sure dd youngers physical therapy would be closed but the staff was there. Dd younger was hoping :D

I remember when UW (madison) was closed for dd older ... the students had a huge snowball fight at Bascom Hall. This is not her video but shows how the kids had a blast. It is still one of her favorite memories at college.

 Our "Ground Hog" day up home was cancelled yesterday because of the weather. See his shadow? I think not. Even our library up home has shut down, Helia, so that wouldn't be an option for anyone up there. Funny, I got to wondering just what ds-R and ddil#1 do with dgs10 when school is closed. I know ds is working (he works for the town) and am sure ddil is at work at the county court.

I just got up. Was up during the night. Woke up from a nightmare suddenly and went into the bathroom. Just then my phone tweeted that there was a text. At 2:30? It was pictures of dgs2 from DS-A. I'm sure he was out and about with loaders or something with all the snow. Haven't heard how much they have so far. Know it's still snowing though.

Stay safe blessedw2 and ddyounger. I was hoping you wouldn't have to go into the city today too.

dh is out of the bathroom so it's (past) time for me to start the day.

I love the picture of your dogs jumping in the snow, blessed! :)

Well, thank you Dee!! I checked the library website after your comment -- and sure enough, the libraries here are closed. You just saved me a trip. LOL! The gym near us is open, as far as I can tell; just classes before 1 pm have been cancelled. I know the buses are running. I saw one go by on the busy street at the end of our street when I was waiting for R.

Snow is up to our dogs' (lab retrievers) bellies, if that gives an idea of snowfall. We probably had an inch or two on the ground beforehand. They didn't have to jump to move through it, but they weren't willing to go very far. Maia did follow me down to the end of the driveway, wanting me to throw a stick for her. I had shoveled the driveway yesterday, so it wasn't an accurate measure of snowfall. . . .Not much progress here -- I need to get to work!!
