Thriving on Thursday

Since it is after 1:00 a.m. here, and I have been such a latecomer the past few days, I thought I'd be an early bird and get Thursday started as I am ending Wednesday. ;)
Here at 1:00 a.m., I am finally s2s (houseshoes) and dh is in the shower. He says he can't sleep w/out a shower sometime during the day. I think I might could, but I have to admit, these achy muscles feel a lot better after a hot shower, and my hair feels sooo much better after washing and conditioning.
And btw -- those 610 Biltmore sheets are really nice. Hope they last a long while, b/c we will NOT be buying another pair for a while.

Please do go back and read my late night post from Wednesday (last night). Dmil's house is just... it is just indescribable.
If dh had been a little more... moderate (?) in allowing some stuff to be displayed in cabinets (for the antique lady) then it might have been a little easier for dbil (and the antique lady) to see what they want and maybe make us a good offer on some things. As it is... well, y'all know the (somewhat crass) saying. I think maybe dh is trying to "baffle dbil w/...."

But even dbil says we need to get together soon, and maybe that can be done in the next couple weeks. That is my hope. I know I may be taking a little too much interest in the house thing, since it is ds/ddil who will be moving in, not me... BUT... I really want to help them get it all cleaned really well before they start in. It's just so dusty and cluttered and really needing attention right now.

Today, anyway, except for dh & ds meeting w/dbil for final * I HOPE * agreement on land lines, etc... my day is clear of house, dbil, etc.
My PODA for Thursday has me thriving, sort of, in a couple of ways:
* Bake cookies (w/dgs?) to take to dfriend who rescued me from the stupidity of a garbage can filled w/cooking grease leakage
* Deliver cookies
* Get dfriend's mortgage papers to dmom (yeah, that still hasn't happened)
With dgs around most of the day, that may be all we accomplish. I also need to work on my rock project a little more.

Good morning, SHEville!

Sermon writing day for me since I didn't do it last night. Plus lunch and singing in the afternoon for seniors, tour the new retirement home to see what their chapel is like, grab dinner and than dfs's going away party. I still can't believe he's going away. He and his wife will be apart for 6 months until he knows where he'll be stationed.

Thankfully she has good support from her parents and his parents (at least it looks that way on facebook but you can never tell.) All are in the area now, including his mom who was never around when I had him. The evil stepmother (she abused him, that's how I got him) is also involved in their lives, so tonight will be difficult for me as neither of the women who should have been his mothers were good at it. (Part of the reason I did not go to the wedding, I hate being around them.)

Long day ahead. I have my new pants to wear to test them out. I sat down in the black ones yesterday and they seemed fine. The blue (not navy as advertised) are a bit tighter all around so I'm not sure I'm keeping those, but they are the ones I got half price so I hate to return them since they were a bargain. I can wear them around home and return up to 30 days from now so may have to take advantage of that.

Raining off and on here. See it's only to get up to about 67 (I know that's a heat wave for many of you, but chilly here).

Harmony, dd is also researching other dental facilities here. She doesn't really want to fly up north and be taking time off work if she doesn't have to. But you're right, that amount of money seems very inflated to me. Dh had 4 teeth pulled last spring and new upper and lowers made, has been back many, many times for resizing and will still go back this spring. His total was $2,000 for all of that. Funny part was I had to write a note and copy dd's info and put it into a letter and sent it priority yesterday. This office is great, in our small town but has no fax or email. For the most part I'm sure all his patients are local. He is the most gentle man and we'll hate to see him retire some day.

Time for meds and breakfast, make the bed and get my shoes/socks on. :?

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, Lucylee.

I am still stuck without my car. The Man told DH he replaced front and back brake lines, and then was concerned that the gas line looked as if it would have problems so he kept it another day to work on that. DH stopped after work last night to see if it was done yet. The Man wasn't there but an employee told DH he should be done with the car sometime this morning.

I miss my wheels! :(

This week has justified my work to avoid letting the freezer and cupboards get too bare in case of emergencies. I could have driven DH's car to get groceries one evening, but I hate driving his car. I had to use it the past 2 nights to go to the post office, and it is SO LOUD that I was afraid that I would be stopped for breaking the new noise ordinance. He never cleans it out so it's filthy, too. I will accept being blamed for the mess in my own car, but not his.

Yesterday since I was stuck at home:
* sorted through a stack of DH's old shirts to evaluate donate/save fabric/throw away
* watched a favorite movie
* took the buttons off the flannel & dress shirts that have good fabrics
* finished month-end reports for library group
* napped with the calico cat
* sorted through a big box and threw away half of the contents
* Emails, endless Emails

Today I have to be at work at 4:45. The rest of the day hinges on if/when I can have my car.
* filing for library group
* finish month-end reports for sewing group
* filing for sewing group
* at least 1 session decluttering, hopefully more
* update pantry/freezer inventory for shopping list
IF I get my wheels back early enough:
* post office
* bank deposit for library group
* run to The Big City for groceries

If I don't get my wheels back today, I will have to walk to work because I need to be there before DH will get home from his job.

I don't have to show up for jury duty today so I need to make the most of it. I'm thinking that trials probably won't be starting on a Friday, so I'll be good for tomorrow also but there's always the possibility that I'll have to show up and the day will be gone.

PODAs for today-tomorrow
-make challah for temple dinner tomorrow night
-make soup for temple dinner tomorrow night
-visit dmom today
-get a bath for Moses today? (had to cancel yesterday because I couldn't get him there in the morning)
-dcleaning lady tomorrow
-have house ready for cleaning lady and for houseguest arriving tomorrow afternoon
-body work tomorrow at 1:30 - my lower back is sore on right side, probably from carrying backpack last weekend w CPAP in it.
-routines

I need to get going right now.
-kitchen, breakfast area counters
-breakfast
-meds/vitamins
-start lol
-brush/floss, wash up and get dressed for the day

Hello. Not up so early this morning because the storm had me awake a good part of the night. Weird this time of year to have such a heavy rain storm, but it was a noisy storm practically all night long. Looking at the radar it appeared to cover our whole state and I was wondering about Dee and Sunny.

The rain caused DH to have to put off a bunch of work. He did go out for a while but all the dirt he would be moving was probably mud by now. Customer is not happy, like it's our fault what the weather does!

Got whole desk cleaned out; next load of filing ready to put in the drawers after the past year is purged. I will work on all that this afternoon. Will also go to post office and mail taxes (I fixed the wrong form). So it is the first week in February, and that is how long it takes me to get all the past year's work wrapped up and the new year started.

wishing you all a good evening!
I had a bit of a rough day today but nothing I can't adjust to ... tomorrow... lol... I just feel like letting it take me today ;) and have a good give up for today - I am sure that will help me for tomorrow. Last night I was tired and didn't do a lick of house work - not even laundry. Tomorrow is a new day and a new way of looking at things. I have to adjust my goals a bit for the next year but it will be a growing time to help the future be better. Now to change my attitude.
