What a late start to the day! I am finally done with jury duty. When I called yesterday I had to report this morning, but was not put on a jury. The judge indicated that we could turn in our badges as we left as there were no further trials this week. He said they had been particularly busy because there were a lot of criminal trials, so we had been called in more than usual. In all, there were 8 possible days (4 days x 2 weeks) and I had to show up for 4 of them. Was done with all by lunchtime, thankfully today was only about an hour.
I was quite stressed last night about having to be there today.
I think (hope) that dd may be doing an archaeological dig in Jordan this summer as her college graduation present. This is something she's wanted to do for several years and dh has not been in favor - he's come around pretty much and she has applied and is very excited. The complication with that is that she has to get her passport renewed, and needed her old passport and birth certificate, and she wants to try to have the appt at the post office for renewal tomorrow. So after much discussion and gnashing of teeth, dh is fed-xing it her for tomorrow a.m. delivery. We were discussing me taking it to her or her coming here or meeting half way and I didn't know if I could commit to that with the jury duty. I just cked with dh's assistant, and it is packed up to go fed-ex for delivery by 10:30 tomorrow so things are coming together I hope.
So.....PODA for today...
-p/u meals for dmom
-drop off a ck at other synagogue
-visit dmom
-try to get a body work scheduled for late today or tomorrow
-tonight is stamp club so need to figure out order
-put some cash in dd's account for passport application
-what else?

I'm awake.
Showered to Sandals and hair done.
Treated the toe (tried olive oil and tea tree oil mixed and put directly on, instead of soaking. Not sure I'll do that again.)
I've tidied the bedroom.
Had breakfast and washed up the breakfast.
Put in two Amazon orders.
Need to decide which is next - working on the sermon or working on the website.

Back from doctor -- check-up --
BP a little high, 128/92, I think, and cholesterol was a little high, maybe 204?
He advised exercise and diet, and re-check in 6 months. Ugh.
Even more ugh, he really wants me to have a colonoscopy. Family history and all that.
Big ugh. But he said I didn't have to do it immediately so I told him I was going to wait and get dmom through some of her stuff first.
Dmom sounds pretty good but still really tired. She told me there was no need to hurry back to her, she just wanted to sleep some more.
I need more sleep too, but dgs is here so that may not happen.
Posting on phone, so for now, I'll just have to wave a big hello to everyone!

Good morning, villagers ~
Busy day. I can type while my early lunch is heating in the microwave.
Sewing group board meeting at 12:30, and about a 45 minute drive to get there so I must hit the road soon. I'm trying to finish the neverending paper filing before I have to leave, but I do at least have enough ready to go to the meeting if I don't finish it all.
Report to work at the library at 4:45.
In between those, I should have enough time to go to the post office, have an early supper somewhere, and stop at home long enough to switch to my travel purse.
(There is no place to lock up the purses at work, they just get set back in the office which is not locked either. I prefer to leave my everyday Mary Poppins-size bag at home, and only take a small purse with essentials that I can hang under my coat. However, today I need the big bag for the earlier meeting.)
Ah, the microwave is dinging. Hope all of you are having a good day.

Picked up my repaired rings and had lunch out at the bagel shop. Dh likes it enough that he came on the walk with me. So I've done my exercise for the day.
Am now battling with the ferry reservations for this summer. Glad I looked at it now, it turns out that the ferries book up quickly and already the desired routing back to the mainland is sold out. So we made slight changes and have our booking made (the website took so long, I started this post while waiting for pages to load.)
I still have to book hotels, etc. but am waiting to find out if we are working at the General Council. If not I'll change the ferry dates and we'll spend less time in Newfoundland (currently we are there for 16 days but will be working 8 of them.) I've always wanted to go to Newfoundland but it was the General Council meeting that got us to actually book it. I also updated our White Point reservations this morning so summer holiday planning has been happening here.
A neighbour dropped in looking to borrow a tool. We ran into him in the elevator and chatted on the way up and he felt comfortable enough to ask a favour. I'm busy turning this building, or at least this floor, into a real neighbourhood!
Picked up salad to have with our leftovers for dinner so dinner is planned and we have a play at the theatre tonight.

Hello everyone! My frustrations continue at payroll. At least a coworker managed to fix my grief with Visual Studio. However, the database changes that I made and checked in did not deploy. The database version is the old one without the changes. Real hard to test my changes when they are NOT THERE! There is a problem report I am supposed to be dealing with, but I CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM! I have emailed and called the person who requested the fix and gotten NOTHING. How can I fix what I can't find?
I did contact the mayor's office to determine if I can (or should) have a press release for him speaking at the animal org annual meeting. What would be ideal is if the mayor's office did the press release and I didn't have to worry about it. I have arranged dinner with a friend tomorrow and gotten an address I need from a friend. Tonight, I have DD12 until 8 pm, then I have a boatload of things to do:
Child support paperwork (date changes only and print)
Home email check including: changes to will from bank trustee -> lawyer and getting mailing lists and receipt copies from the animal org office manager
Call friend to return key (probably on Monday)
Sew buttons on charity baby item (due soon)
Finish kitten scrapbook for the animal org meeting (coming soon)
Letter to donor from animal org board
Attach lockbox with spare key to car
Other stuff that needs to be dealt with soon:
Two letters
Check an account
Spreadsheet fixes
Will additions
Kitten pictures to animal org web person
Email animal org fosters about videoing pets, especially cats
If I could just make some progress at payroll.

Wow, 5 posts after 4:00. Everybody must be really busy.
I did my early morning chore of getting DH & helper to jobsite. On the way home I made a bunch of stops, one bank, some groceries and cards and night-light bulb, went to drafting office to pick up plans, took samples back to another place. Then I came back and caught up on my sleep, got the fireplace going again.
FFriend, you asked about porches. We have a porch across the front of our house and DH and I sit out there once in a while. Front porches are uncommon here. But we liked the look. We have a covered porch out the back too. Our BBQ is out there. Most people do things out the back. However, what you see on TV is not really what happens. It is very hot here, 9 months of the year and most people stay inside in the air conditioning. We use our porches more than most people. People with pools might be outside more, but from what I've seen, once those people have had their swim and are dried off, back in the a/c they go!
All those tv shows have people saying they like the spaces inside all opened up so they can entertain. How much entertaining goes on, not much I don't think. People are just too busy, everybody either works or they are retired and retired people do not entertain that much. Don't believe all that you see on H GTV!
Harriet, I was amused and curious at your description of the house. Would you say it was minimalistic? As hard as I try, I cannot make mine look like that. My DSisiLaw lives like that, but she runs around doing things out of the house all the time, barely ever there; and she has downsized everything and got rid of everything...though she isn't fancy and decorated, just neat.
I would like to follow around a person who lives like this. I wonder just how much work it takes to accomplish this.
Today was just nuts. After a nap, everything seemed to happen at once. DH left his phone in customer's car and she was going to meet him at store, but I couldn't tell him so had to drive down there. Multiple stacks of papers dealt with and a county office... and a few phone calls with DD over a family matter...sometimes I just feel like I could fly apart. My hat goes off to those people who can handle multiple tasks all the time and not go blonky in their nerves / brain.

Good Later Afternoon, Villagers!
Got up early, s2s, shampooed, and have been really busy doing the LOL up, lifting/hauling/rearranging things, cleaning, etc... Have done about 2 hours so far, am getting a bit tired now, so will do what I can, prior to bedtime. I'll sleep good tonight!
DH went to his retiree's luncheon, thankfully nobody's died within this past month, and he enjoyed himself.
Got a story back, rejected, and read it to DH and he agrees with me, it's GOOD! Got out my 2015 Novel & Short Story Market book, to find another market for it. It's too good to just "let go," without trying.
Harmony , That's interesting about Florida and porches. We have a small covered front porch and a large patio, where we BBQ, sit on a bench, watch birds, etc...
Have a good evening, Everyone!
Just a quick C. I. for now!

I'm back home after work and having a breakfast bar with a glass of milk for a snack. Wow, we're still only on the first page?

Everyone must be exceptionally busy today.
My meals had to be at weird times today so I experimented with 6 small meals instead of 3 regular ones. That seems to have worked ok.
I need to do a bunch of follow-up paperwork and bookkeeping from the meeting this afternoon, but I'm not going to start it this late. I'm not in the mood to watch tv either. Maybe I'll go to bed early with a good book.
Imagine that, a librarian who wants to read.
