Good morning, villagers ~
I had a good weekend.
Sewing group activities for most of the day Saturday -- will post in AC&N.

Yesterday was warm enough that DH and I picked up sandwiches from SW and drove over to the lake to check out the ice and see if anything was happening in the campgrounds. We decided it was much too windy to eat at a picnic table, so DH parked the car where we had a good view of the lake.

First we saw 2 eagles standing on the lake. We weren't sure what they were at first, until they turned so I could see the white heads. They were far enough out that we couldn't really see well, but we thought they might be waiting at an open spot, doing some ice fishing. A 3rd eagle would fly in every now and then and stand with them briefly, then fly away again.

DH and I finished our sandwiches and started reading the newspaper. Suddenly I looked up and there were 5 (!) eagles standing out on the lake, and I counted another 5 flying overhead. We were hoping they would all gather together, but only 1 of the flying ones landed, the others went away. Eventually all of the eagles flew off 1 at a time.

We saw 4 of them when we drove around to another part of the lake, where there was more open water and they were moving more.

We got to wondering about the first 2 eagles, who would stand still for long periods of time. Maybe they weren't fishing after all, maybe it was nap time and the middle of the lake was a safe place for them to sleep. Do birds sleep during the day?

Today will be busy. Critical tasks:
* bookkeeping and bank deposit for sewing group
* eye appointment for the tests that always give me a major headache
* pick up a few things from Sam's
* 1 or 2 loads of laundry
* figure out something for supper that will be ok sitting on the counter during the time between when I leave for work and DH gets home from his job
* work at the library tonight
* look for fabrics to take to sewing camp later this week

Oh, I forgot to eat breakfast. BBL.

Two weeks long - what's the old saying about march... it comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb... I didn't think it meant a cold as well

I have to work outside as the snow finally melted and the dogs yard is full of toys, bowls and my socks... why my socks lol (and where did they find them) - the laundry room is on the way out to the yard.. mmmm I might have something there

Good morning Booksaver!! Very cool to see so many eagles; we occasionally see them here.

I was up and about on the early side - ddogs got me up at 6:30 (thank goodness Macs has an appetite again) and I needed to be up at 7 a.m. so I just stayed up. Dh has someone coming on service call for our TV - supposed to be here any minute and he is here pacing the floor. He fears, rightly so, that something will be not set up correctly and that I won't know it. (I rarely use the TV!)

I've done s2s and read the paper, started some of a.m. routine. Energy is good so far. Ds has an appt with psychiatrist re: meds at 11 today and after that dd and I are getting pedicures. Need to figure out highest priorities for the rest of the day.

Later....TV guy has been here and dh is heading to work, thank goodness. I have been interrupted so often I'm not sure which way is up right now.

-make the bed
-start a lol
-do Evernote review
-li&t for the rest of the day

I took it easy this weekend. We had some much needed rain here.
Had to cull one hen that was not doing well I am getting more skill at that so it is quick.

I did get to the daily cards that helped today. slowly on the mend.

I spent a very restless night. Woke up about 1 and that's all she wrote until after dh left with dsonil for Tampa about 5:30. Then I slept (badly) for about 3 hours.

Ever since I got up I have been busy reactivating my new credit card. THEN had to go through all the business of changing the expiration date over on several things. Realized that I had forgotten several things that are linked to that account. Some I was just never able to access. Like our E-Z pass for NY -not sure how I updated our info on our new car in the fall, but I have a bit to work on that since our pass won't be accessed until at least June. My Di sney account & The other one was our account for Gaither net. I always think I've added the user names/passwords, etc. But sometimes I obviously have not. But I've spent long enough on that stuff for now.

Now I need to update some filing and then to work on our income taxes. I'm so nervous about having to pay this year that I've been procrastinating a long time.

I am soooooooooooo impressed with this KC specialist that will be doing dh's surgery. When dh talked to him Sat. night they were talking about dh seeing a cardiologist. He told dh he would have his assistant check into it. At 9:45 our local hospital called with an appt to see a visiting cardiologist this Thursday. We don't have a permanent cardiologist here, but there are several that rotate visiting here on a weekly basis.

I am sure hoping that by being able to see a cardiologist so soon, that dh's surgery will be in April. Dd1 plans to go with us and it would be more convenient for her. Between planning dgd18s graduation party and dd1 tying up loose ends for the end of the school year and for her leaving the school district, it will be a busy time for her.

Dh just told me that it didn't sound too promising, that he would be able to have the surgery before the end of April at the earliest. At least it is benign and that is the most important thing.

It is suppose to be in the high 80's today. Dh wants to wash my car, because it is suppose to be in the 50's for the next several days.

I have several errands to run. The last 2 weeks have been so different than our normal routine, with the carpet laying and trip to see the KC dr. I have lot of work to do to get my ducks in a row, so that I will be prepared for the surgery and his recovery after we come home.

Guess I better get a shower and get with it.

Late Monday night here.

A good sea day except my knees are killing me. Walked less than 3K today and another 2k on the exercise bike (not enough time to try the pool again although it helped yesterday.) Did icing and physio and may do another round before bed.

Played trivia (my team will never question an answer from me again - Great Danes are not the largest dogs!)

Had tea. Finished my first book for the book club (The Aye-Aye and I by Gerald Durrell on Madagascar and a little bit on Mauritius.)

Listened to two lectures on the tv when I wanted to, rather than rush to the theatre.

We had dinner at the Italian restaurant (excellent) and then watched a great show, Mentalist Guy Bavli. He was great!

Today is another 25 hour day. I love going westbound!

The seas are picking up and combined with my knees, walking is much harder. Apparently the winds were bad on the walking deck (which is sheltered) so I'm glad I just used the gym's exercise bike today. It gave me a chance to watch a lecture on the tv so was efficient use of my time.

Oh how I love your posts, Kathryn. Sounds like you're using your time very wisely. Would like to take another cruise in the next year but there's nothing available while dd is on Spring break -unless there's a 'last minute' one. We'll see.

I've given up trying to update any further items -for right now anyway. Have no idea how to access my Dis ney account.

Just got the mail and our insurance renewal for our golf cart was there. I'm glad of that as I can now put the insurance cards in dh's paperwork for him to take north. But for right now think I'll take a little break and read and probably doze a little bit.

Trying not to over do today as I am still on the mend I do feel better.
Got two half buckets of weeds for the hens out of the front yard.

Beef pot pies for dinner tomorrow. Today's dinner is still undecided.
Trash is dumped.

I did my pedicure again seems I need to do this more than once a week.
There is a post with a recipe on Fb with L isterine vinegar and water I want to try, did not have the L isterine so I just added the vinegar sort of underwhelmed with the results I had been just using water before.
