WEDNESDAY WANNA'S

I "wanna" stay home and get going on dh's packing today, but that won't be the case. We're leaving in about 45 minutes to visit friends about 50 miles from here. They're north of Clermont but we'll take the 'back' roads up (avoiding I-4 and Route 27 -both pretty horrendous).
Have to stop at the pharmacy on the way to see if we can get some different eye drops for dh. His right eye has been swollen, red, watery and itchy and he's been saying for probably a couple of weeks that it's allergies. The red flag for me should have been that it was only ONE eye. We bought some allergy eye drops yesterday but dd put them in for him last evening. She then remarked, "Dad! You have a sty on your eyelid -no wonder your eye is driving you nuts.". So today we'll stop and see if they have "sty specific" eye drops. Did have him putting warm compresses on it last night. Hope to clear it up some before he heads out next Tuesday. How I hate to think of him making that trip. Was going to make reservations ahead so he was sure to stop in a goodly manner. Now he's decided to call me when he gets 'near' to finishing up for the day. Just don't want him overdoing it. Says he won't -but he's a man.......
I slept well last night.

Got up once and went right back to sleep until about 6:20 when I heard dh go out of our room. I got up for a bathroom break but got up for good about 7. I've s2s, made the bed, taken meds, had breakfast, washed my hair (have to do that over the sink). Tomorrow I "think" we're staying home and will get things ready to load, Friday I have to work at church in the morning (secretary's gone to MI to be with her Mom), and at 4:30 we're meeting dh's 2dbs and their wives at a very popular barbeque place near here. This place is family owned and only open Labor Day to Memorial Day. Amazing the business we do -figured we'd get there early on a Friday (they're only open Thurs, Fri & Sat too).
Have a wonderful day and accomplish some of those 'wanna's'.

Hoping Mr Dee's eye improves quickly. A sty is no fun. Prayers for the weather over there too.
I saw a doctor today. Really - why the other doctor wanted me to come in I have no guess. For now at lest, I'll stay with this one. My wannas haven't done so well lately. Maybe I can have some action on a Wanna Thursday tomorrow.

Good morning Dee! Good evening Lynlee - and Kathryn too, by chance?
The sun is shining. This looks like another beautiful day!
Wednesday Wannas. . . I wanna go through the day with a good attitude.
Yesterday was a full and good day. I don't think I ever got here? I went to a neighboring village to get my hair cut. This took a good 2:15 from my morning. In the afternoon, I went to work, went for a jog, and then went to the groc. store. I got home around 6:30. By the time I put the groceries away and got dinner ready (dh helped when he got home), it was 7:45 - so we ate very late last night. I did fold and put away a load of kitchen laundry last night too.
This morning is the only morning I have totally free this week - and I need to use it to prep my Qs for the moms group panel tomorrow. I'll be otd around 12:20 for a work meeting at 1, then my class at 1:40. After work, I am meeting my mentee at 4:00 so she can interview me for a project she's doing for one of her classes. S and R will be over for dinner tonight, but dh is going to cook since I told him I didn't know when I'd be home. Originally, our guest list for this evening included a new grad student/postdoc/research scientist (not sure which) in dh's lab from Korea and his wife, but they can't make it. This makes life simpler for me. I don't need to stress about how the house looks and can focus my energies this morning on the panel questions.
I have:
- said good bye to dd16
- handed dd16 a check for the oboe technician whom she is visiting after school today on the advice of her oboe teacher
- fed the cat
- let dogs out; let dogs in
- unloaded top rack of dw and dishdrainer
- had bfast: tea and banana
- checked emails
- sent a too long email to moms group teaching team re: the panel Qs. We think we're going to answer 11 questions? Last time we had a panel, we couldn't even finish answering 6 questions; we allow time for discussion and more questions from the women in the room as we address each question.
I'm off to finish my a.m. routine and then get to work on my Qs.

I wanna pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.....A miracle is happening today!
DD & I are taking a road trip together!!!! We are traveling to DSon/DDIL home with LO, & DGD3.
On one hand, I'm not looking forward to the trip. Two little ones in a vehicle for 8 hours. "Are we there yet?" x 10000 times.
However, on the other hand - Being together with DD for hours has been unable to happen for years. I consider it A MIRACLE happening!
Baby stepping our way through the process of rebuilding our relationship.

I gotta get rolling today - need to be leaving in about two hours to get ds back to GT, and will try to time it to get to 6 p.m. meeting as I come back into town. I slept very poorly last night - the pain in my upper left teeth has come back and was plaguing me when I went to bed, so I felt like I woke up every now and then with it throbbing. And dMacs was quite unsettled through the night - had me up a couple of times, then around 4:30 or 5 I just got up and slept on the couch a bit while he cooled his heels outside. Dh woke me up to go back to bed maybe around 6 or so, then I slept sporadically until 8.
Just send an email re: meeting tonight. There is still unpaid tuition for religious school and it makes me nervous. I think it's a disgrace.
Down to six couples I don't know about on my RSVP list, have 25 attending so far. Dh was unhappy about people who contributed $$ being left off the email invitation but I'm not getting into the middle of it. Everyone thinks this gal hung the moon and my experience with her is that she does a great job only on things that she cares about. A lot of other stuff gets left by the wayside with others to pick up after her.
So for now.....
-brush teeth, clean up, get dressed for day
-med/vitamins
-walk dogs, if they want to walk
-wipe and clear kitchen counters
-make the bed

Hi! So much traveling and entertaining - everyone stay safe, have great chats!
Yesterday was a stress-filled day for me. The meetings were tedious. HRH and I had lunch out together between the two. At lunch, ordering simple sandwiches at a local place, mistakes in both our orders were frustrating. By the second meeting, it was getting a bit wearing. I could tell HRH was not liking the personality of the lady who spoke most. Not her fault - she's just different. The first meeting had been more congenial.
While we were at lunch, firetrucks and police cars rushed in to the parking lot a few cars away from ours. There was a lot of frantic running around. Turns out a baby was in a car and the parents mistakenly let the car door get away from them, closing and locking baby inside with keys inside. On our first truly hot day of the year. Ultimately everything was fine. I was on the phone with ds and he already knew all about it, and even though I was watching, it was he who actually told me, oh, they've got it open now - that's how fast the communications lit up for every dept near and far. That type of call is such a big deal. Baby was furious, though. Some serious lungs on that little one! Mad at the world.
Ds and my green-eyed boy came over and spent a while with us yesterday afternoon. We gathered the eggs - well, had a couple eggs that almost got gathered, lol. They didn't exactly make it into the house. We had an accident. That's okay. He loves washing his hands. We showed off the newly cleaned barn to ds.
Then dd had a kite-decorating charity event for Nat'l Art folks. Ugh - so much driving all day.
Dd has a field trip today. I'm afraid my patience wore thin this a.m. and she's probably miffed with me. She doesn't leave herself time in the mornings to make sure she's ready for the day. She was supposed to wear closed-toed shoes and long sleeves because they are going to a metal-working area. I found her a high-necked long-sleeved shirt (of mine!) but she was supposed to be in charge of her own shoes. In the car I realized she'd chosen Keds. Sigh. She said they were, technically, closed toes and at least she didn't wear flip-flops!!! But I'm sure their point was wear something more protective than that, and she certainly owns several better choices.

Good morning! I wanna be in bed asleep. My second choice is I wanna make progress at payroll. This week I have got tasks done fast and would like to continue, starting with research on a query - what it does and how, followed by the associated diagram.
Last night was pretty much what I expected: homework and Chinese food with DD13. I got her latest report card yesterday, and she kicked butt. The lowest was a B+ and everything else was some form of A. Normally report cards generate a trip to the ice cream place, but we had to take a rain check - no lemon sorbet until summer and nothing else will do! I did return my friend's car and did not stay out too late. I love visiting with her, but hate her chickens. When I got home, I had to scrub my shoes, wash my shoelaces TWICE, and wash my pants. YUCK!!! She wanted to show me the work she is doing in her yard, which is lovely. However, she has to make structural repairs for 10k scheduled next month and has multiple roof leaks. I think home improvement money would be better spent elsewhere, especially since she has reverted to her cavalier attitude toward debt and frequently cashes out her retirement accounts. At one time, she had a budgeting plan, but it was her policy to exclude vacation expenses from it, and those, for her, are multiple thousands. This is the one who wants to be the trustee for my daughter's inheritance. Not happening.
When I got back from her house, I posted the Wednesday night out menu to the church website, got some scheduling info, got info on what I need to have done for Bible study tonight, and did a very minute amount of LR cleanup.
Stuff that I was supposed to do yesterday that will carry over to tonight: check on/order tickets, LR cleanup (the rest of the tables and mop), determine vacation schedule for the year.
Original Wednesday schedule:
Morning: calendar synch, order meds, Bible study (on train)
Between work and home: attend Bible study, pick up meds
At home: mail some stuff, check animal org notes for tasks and plan them, email lawyer, clean master bathroom, kitchen (tables, counters, sweep/mop), dragon quiz for DD13
I noticed yesterday that Sadie had posted that FF (presumably FelineFriend has moved on. I missed that. What gives?

Hello to our new member,
RunKitty!
Harmony, your new plantings in the front yard sound nice. I wondered how your amaryllis was doing this year. Ours have come up this past past week and a lot are blooming. I trimmed the ixora bush by the back door yesterday; it was taller than the roof and blocking the light at the corner of the house. I discovered a bird nest in the middle of it, so only trimmed to about 6 feet tall. There's still a lot to do in both front and back yards.
I Wanna do some desk work today. Got a letter from the bank saying in their monitoring of out of pattern activity there might be some potential for unauthorized use of our debit card so they issued a new card. It came yesterday, so I have to activate it and change #s on an automatic account so service won't be interrupted. (It was due to be expired and a new one issued in a few months anyway, so I guess this was a good time to change it). I also Wanna finish a letter that was started a few days ago.
I also have to start planning meals etc. for the week dfam#3 is here. One more thing I need to finish this week is to go through all my clothes. We got a call from one of the charities asking for donations. We put a box out for one two weeks ago; I don't have anything ready, but know there should be some things to pull out that don't fit or I haven't worn in a long while.
That all should keep me out of trouble today!

Tomorrow dfam#1 is supposed to come for supper. Haven't seen them for a couple of weeks!
Everyone have a nice afternoon.....Only two more days till the first day of
Spring!

Hello Dear Ladies,
We've got rain today. It lowers the pollen so I'm feeling better today.
Cleaned the boys bathroom, laundry room and entryway. Wanted to sweep and mop the kitchen but ran out of steam.
Going to work on Dson-N taxes this afternoon. Then off to work.
Wanted to share some happenings from there. Had a father with two young children looking around in the ladies underwear, finally he came up and asked me for help, he was shopping for his wife who was deployed to Afganistan. I immediately thanked him for his wife's service and his family's sacrifice and helped him the correct sizes for his wife. Different times we live in.
Will share another tale tomorrow, the taxes are calling me.
Where is Emptynester? Is every thing all right with them?
