Today I have a lot going - not all work but it feels like I'm heading straight uphill right now.

-get dmom to dr appt at 1 p.m.
-additional worksheet to prep for temple bd meeting (I forgot)
-temple bd meeting at 6:15
-after temple bd meeting, dog sitter is to come by to meet dogs and get instructions, etc.

What I'd really like to do today is to work on genealogy. The cousins we visited in VA in January sent dh a CD with photos from their scrapbook; I finally loaded it yesterday on Dropbox and sent a link to dh. He posted a photo of his gr-grandparents on Facebook last night, sparking a huge discussion on Facebook with lots of cousins, some of whom didn't know or remember each other. So that's what I'd like to work on, but alas.

I'm trying to plan ahead to next week, too. We will be home from trip on Monday afternoon, and it looks like Tuesday is the best day to see dsis. I could skip a neighborhood afternoon "Coffee and cookies" on Wed and go then. I don't know whether I'd rather get home Monday and travel on Tuesday, or have a break on Tuesday and miss the Wed event. (I missed the last one when they went to a movie.) I'd like to cultivate my friendships here now that I'm not working outside the home and volunteering at temple so much.)

I deliberately did not respond to a temple email yesterday but explained to office mgr that I was trying to back off my involvement.

Right now:
-s2s
-breakfast/meds/vitamins
-clear kitchen counters
-upload an updated family genealogy (gedcom) online and send a Facebook message about it
-send a text to dog sitter with our street address

I've already checked in with my brother and he is aware of dr appt today for dmom.

Thanks for getting us started, Twins. I had done a post & it sat here when I called dsisil. I'll save that "W" for another Wednesday.

I woke about 4 and was awake an hour or so but then slept till nearly 8. Dh called about 8:20 and was at the VA welcome center. He's hoping to make New Windsor, MD to drop off the bandages by sometime this afternoon. His plan then is to go as far Selinsgrove, PA.

Just realized I missed a call from dsisil a while ago -must have been while I went to the kitchen for my coffee. Since dh left we've started using the one-cup side of the coffee maker and using "k" cups. See how that works out. At least I might not be tossing out a cup or 2 of coffee every day. Even when I make less, often there's too much left over -perhaps because someone decided they didn't want coffee that day. Think dsonil is liking the individual cappuccino ones. Will have to stock up on them for him for the summer.

We almost missed out on an additional $6000+ a year!

Sure making me curious what you did, Harmony. Good for you btw!! That's a very sizeable amount to have missed out on.

Never really heard about a 'broker' for health care, RR & Harmony, but we have very little choice in the matter and only 2 weeks to make a decision. Ours is still through dh's employer (he's now retired). But I have a feeling I might want to look at that if we ever change our permanent address to FL. Then we'd have to give up our policy through his employer. This year for whatever reason it went down considerably per month to $143 a month. So, I'm not complaining about that (that's our medical & drug coverage). We have no dental any more.

Kathryn, do hope you're feeling better today. Nothing like being onboard and being sick -I can speak from experience.

Okay, procrastinated long enough. Time to get out the tax papers and get moving. I did open them all and put them all together in a folder last night. My goal is to get them sent off by this afternoon.

Oh, Helia, so sorry to hear about Tori! I can sympathize with you so much right now - your dh ensnared in Church work (where I've been doing temple work too long, and doing too much!) Good luck with your teaching - it's a good time to be gearing up work with your kids heading to and in college and being more independent - I didn't accept a position on the temple bd until kids were in HS and I could see light at the end of the tunnel.

Still haven't s2s-ed, altho did upload gedcom and sent message to family. I hope I don't get too much criticism on my family database - I did tell them there are probably lots of errors and I haven't done a good job with documentation, but would appreciate corrections and additional info.

Think I've often heard that lament over the years, Twins. (Ask the retirees they ALWAYS have time.) NOT

Taking a break from taxes. Down to pretty much the last one, then have to go find where I might have listed our cars' mileages. Need the mileage for dh's volunteer hours. We certainly have enough miles to justify it all.

My eyes need a break if nothing else. Will be so glad to have the cataract surgery behind me, trusting that my vision will be better.

Have to remember to close & lock windows all over the house when I leave. The windows are hard for me to close. Can't reach with my left arm and they slide down hard. Just realized the window in the craft room is open now too. DD and dsonil have done a really nice job in changing that room over. Used to be gd's room. DD's trying to look at this as the 'empty nest' happening almost 2 years early.

No work for me today... I'm off to a baseball game today with Sweetie, Norma, Mr Guy and mr. G and his wife Dee. We had a great time last year and am sure there will be fun to be had today.

My taxes are done... Yippie

Helia...it will be unusually hot here in AZ for the next week and thou Sodoma is usually a bit cooler than Mesa it will still be in the mid-80s where you're going. The evenings are cool though with the temps in the 50's once the sun goes down and it begins to cool off.

Good morning! I stayed up too late last night, but at least it wasn't because I was goofing off. I played one and only one game of computer Scrabble, and that while I was waiting on an archive to complete. Here is what I got done: took apart sink so I would know what parts to buy, yarn to sewing bag (but need to buy one as well), webwork completed. I am still trying to get my volunteer schedule together. Looks like Saturday will be spent working on an estate sale fundraiser and Sunday will be at the cat show fundraiser. The nice thing about the Saturday work is that the long long lunch break allows me to eat with and sew with the knit/crochet group.

Girls' Night Out with DD13 was spent at the Chinese restaurant, getting homework done. There was no time for dragon quiz and letting DD take apart the sink. I found out why she has been having homework on Tuesdays. She always had it, but in the past would get it done before I picked her up. She is now 'saving it for me' (her words), because she likes the way I explain it to her.

I signed on to look after DD's dog while she is away, and realized this morning I don't know where his eye meds are or how often he gets them! Have sent an email to the x for that information. I understand he cooperates for the neighbor girl who usually looks after him. (She is also leaving for spring break).

Here is what I need to get done today:

• Bible study on train - halfway done, will finish on evening commute
• Goto Bible study
• Pick up sink parts
• Fix sink
• Bills
• Check an account balance
• Start work on an email list task for the animal org
• Investigate options for new web host for church
• Finalize weekend's volunteer schedule
• Check on and schedule ToDos from animal org minutes

I have severely limited my online time the past few days. It is a double-edge sword. I am using my time wisely doing the most important tasks by following the SHE card system. However I dearly need this site and friendship to stay sane. Just keeping focused on doing the right thing is lonely. I am rarely alone because little ones are with me almost all the time, but being lonely & alone are not the same thing.

LO has started T-ball which means he (we) now have activities every week night. The time must be managed fairly tightly to get everything done in the evening hours = homework, chores, dinner, activity, bath and bed routines.

DGD3 has been with me for the past 7 days. DD came and got her up this morning. DGD3 is an easy to take care of 3 year old, but even though she is easy - it still means continual monitoring and care. I don't dare take a 5 minute bathroom break without the door open so I can keep up with what she is doing. IYKWIM.

DH is working WAY too many hours. I woke up at 2am and he wasn't home. He came home around midnight and cat-napped in the recliner before returning to MPB. I make sure DH has good meals at regular times so his diabetes doesn't go off track, but he desperately needs a break from the continual MPB equipment failures. It has been non-stop for months.

ANYway - I just wanted to stop by and CUOP and let you know all is well as can be in my little corner of the world. I will resume regular posting ASAP.
