MOVE IT MONDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

After all the busyness of the past week, I'm sure many of us feel we need to "move it, move it, move it!" (I can never see those words but what I see dgs15 singing that phrase when he was little -brings a smile to my face.)

Church service was good yesterday but everything that could go wrong, did absolutely that -at least for dd and me. I had gone back to church on Saturday to print out the list of those who donated lilies for the altar. (After I finally tracked down that list). Then that page would absolutely not print out no matter what I did. Even called dsecretary in MI a couple of times. NOT and finally gave up. Meantime dpastor had been sick most of the week. When one of our retired pastors filled in, he said that dpastor had called him Thursday night & asked him to fill in; Friday he called to say he could do it; Saturday he called to say he could not. His absence made a lot of changes in our bulletin. DD now puts words to hymns, scripture, etc etc on a program that's shown on a screen. She got to church only to find the cable for computer to projector missing, finally found one that worked. Meantime I was still trying to print that insert. Finally copied the page & pasted it into half of the (saved as something else) of our current bulletin. Only one side would copy so I decided to make single copies and for some reason it decided it would print in color after all! Got those done & cut & took them over to the ushers only to find they only had about a dozen bulletins between them and only a handful of people in the sanctuary. Went back over to print more bulletins -found out that people who came to the early service took about 3 dozen home with them. Aha! There was more that kept happening and many of the things dd had for the screen were now wrong. But, all in all, it was a GOOD service! :D

Went to dbil/dsisil's for dinner yesterday afternoon. It was a nice day.

DD and I went to see "Home" on Saturday -both enjoyed that.

Talked to dh last night -it snowed there all day. He went to church and to ds-A's after for dinner. Played some with dgs2. I'm sure he didn't enjoy that! Right!

Good Morning Ladies
Thanks for waking up the village Dee.
Have been missing for awhile, the Grandkids got that stomach bug which they happily gave hubby and I, which was not very nice, ended up in hospital for 24 hours due to dehydration.
Between that, everyday stuff and getting ready for Easter well I am sure you all have been there ;)
Todays agenda includes alot of desk work, have a bag of papers need to be shredded, and
papers to file, plus have not worked the budget for the month, nor the meal plan for the week.
First up another cup of coffee, then the morning stuff.
Hope you all have a great day.

Glad you're feeling better, Molly's Nana. So many here and IRL have this bug. Not fun for sure. Get well wishes to all who are under the weather and those taking care of others who are there as well.

I'm dressed, hair washed, breakfast done, bed made, meds done, took care of clean dishes,1 LOL in the dryer. Picked up here and there as well -there's always something to do. Going to sip a cup of coffee, put my feet up for a few and get the 2nd LOL in the washer. I have quite the l&&t going and I'm sure I won't complete it all. The errands I may put off for another day when I'll be on the run anyway. Makes more sense I guess. A stay at home day? WOW! (Note to MNana, we abbreviate that word so Harriet's eyes won't be too burdened.) (Oh what a difference a good night's sleep can make!!!)

I am up, have had some bfast (banana and tea), let dogs out, let dogs in, checked emails, responded to one from dfriend, the mother/wife of our skiing friends - trying to get the 2 families together for lunch or dinner. Maybe our schedules will coordinate in late May to let this happen. We've been trying to get together for a couple months now.

((MNana)) Wow, you got hit hard. Glad you're better. Hope you get your desk work done.

That was a lot of little things to go wrong, Dee! Sounds like the most important things went well, though.

I had a nice, very socially intense weekend, so I'm pretty much ready to be left alone today. I'd better warn dh, the extrovert. . . LOL! Small group Saturday night was fun - though a bit chaotic. Most of the kids walked in the door with baskets of eggs to hide - and immediately started doing that. Then, the adults started hiding eggs, and the kids went downstairs (walk out basement) to the play room to play. Dh and I were getting the last minute things out for dinner. Then suddenly there was a quandary: it was time to eat, and we eat upstairs -- but there were a gazillion eggs "hidden" in plain sight all around the living areas. Could the kids eat while scoping out the eggs? We decided they could; it wasn't that big of a deal. After we ate, the egg hunt commenced, and that was also slightly chaotic with 7 kids ages 1 - 9 running around the house. The youngest one, baby J, of course needed someone to go with her. And the 3 year old had some tears b/c first, she lost her basket and then the hunt basically started without her. . . . In the end, it was a grand time -- and then the kids hid for the adults downstairs. Dh and I both decided to forgo that hunt. I used the time as a breather to clean up a bit. There were 20 people in our house. Fortunately, dessert was cookies - no need for another set of silverware or plates to eat it. We didn't have enough for everyone to have a 2nd set. (Dh really doesn't like using paper goods, so we always use the real thing - even with 20 people.) Then, we settled into small group sharing and prayer time with the little ones downstairs under the supervision of dd19 and one of S' Univ. students.

I got up at 5 a.m. Sunday to start the cinnamon rolls in the breadmaker; I got them prepped and ready to rise at 7 a.m. We went to church, picking up ds en route. Brunch afterward was simple: cinnamon rolls and boiled eggs. It was very nice to be a family of 5 again for a short time. Then, the scramble to get dinner ready commenced. I set up the breadmaker before brunch. Dh and I prepped the 8.5 lb. leg of lamb and got it in the oven a bit late. We walked to WF b/c I'd forgotten to pick up almonds for the green beans. I did squeeze in a 40 minute nap and a phone call to my parents. Because of those 2 things, dh ended up doing most of the cooking of the rest of the menu: mashed potatoes (his specialty anyway), started the sweet potatoes, the green beans - w/ garlic, lemon juice (he didn't squeeze it fresh, though), and almonds. I finished the sweet potatoes and sliced the bread. Dh also made gravy and took the lamb out. He was happy to do this. He enjoys cooking.

We had 5 guests for the meal, including baby J. So, we were a group of 10. A brought fresh fruit and S and R brought some roasted veggies, so we had a feast! We ate around 5 pm. Dd16 made one of her special cakes after dinner, and we ate it around 8 pm. Friends left around 8:30 - 9 pm. I then had a little work to do, so I graded a quiz and posted grades for both classes.

Now, I really need to get going. Tutee R will be here in 50 minutes and I still need to s2s and edit her essay. She only sent me one this time.

Have a good morning!

Dh called a while ago to see where a particular bench went in the RV (I had to scrunch things in the fall so he could pull the slides in). It was shortly after 9 and I asked him where he was? A: In the living room! Uh, you told me yesterday that your MRI was at 9:30 and you were leaving at 8:30 so why are you home? A: I'm all done, my appointment was at 7:30. It's a wonder he gets anywhere on time with me away.

Been doing a batch more things as I think of them. I went to put the laundry in the dryer and evidently it never really started. I had a few of the clothes out that were surprisingly dry, then it hit me. So that's twirling now. I've folded and put away the load of darker clothes.

Think I have some plastic storage bags in our closet -want to dig them out for some blankets dd has piled in the laundry room. Then that can go in the blanket chest. Little by little we'll get some things done here. We bought dd a new TV for their bedroom for Christmas. She's thinking if dsonil gets this job at C oca C ola in Apopka that she'll send it with him. That way it will be out of the house while she's gone for the summer. She already has plans to ask a friend to keep their lawn done if he gets that job. Who knows.......... Been this route before, but he knows he has to find something else.

Looking back at my calendar, the last three weeks have been extremely busy - we had the dinner here, then 4 day trip to FL, three dr appts for dmom, and once visiting dsis, plus Passover, Moses' illness, a temple bd meeting (last as treasurer!) and a religious school board meeting. I am so glad this is a quieter week. There is nothing on the calendar for today and tomorrow. Wed I have someone coming here about the built in cabinets, Thursday I have stamp club in the evening, and body work on Friday. So glad I can relax a bit!

Next month will be crazy busy, I'm afraid. Moving both dkids back home, two graduations, a family trip to the beach and for me, a trip to a genealogy conference that is back to back with the beach trip. Also still need to work around trips to see dsis and seeing my dmom.

I'm torn today between doing absolutely nothing or "Move It" Monday. I slept poorly; Moses was in pain and I gave him meds and snuggled with him during the night several times, and Macs somehow needed two trips outside and I just feel bleary eyed. Slept until 8:30 with weird, weird dreams.

Morning y'all..

Phew..y'all's weekends sounds way too busy for me. I like mine slow and easy. I'm not fun to be around if I'm too stressed out lol.

My house is done, including my spin-mopped floors... And my laundry is done. Glad because I sort of had migraine yesterday.

Today's moving includes replanting my sunflower garden. The extreme heat this past week really did a number on all my flowers and plants. This week the temps are back to normal .. In the low 80's .. So that should help.

I am hosting a Girls' Night Out for my neighborhood. Not sure how many will show up, but usually it's between 8-18. It's movie night and we're watching a little gem called Never Again. It's abt two mid-aged people re-entering the single world after failed relationships vowing "never again" to date or become involved in a serious relationships. It's rated R with lots of adult humor but nothing that's over the top or too racy. It should supply lots of belly laughs for the all female gathering.

Off to plant my poseys.. Plenty of sunshine and cool temps... A great way to spend my day. Enjoy yours :)

Weekends:

Yes, this! After craving that quiet day yesterday, dh and I went out for a drive and a historic walk. When we got home I took out steaks from the freezer to thaw and he grilled later. I just made a simple salad (same as the salad from the Seder on Friday night) and then I cleaned up and took dMacs for a walk. In between I had some stamping time but didn't really find inspiration. Ended up putting around, starting several times, then changing direction and starting something else. Early bedtime for the night of not sleeping well.

I made myself scrambled eggs with spinach and feta for breakfast. I think I will go to the downtown library this afternoon. I haven't been there to research in several years and need a new library card. I am going to look up some obits. I'm feeling stuck on genealogy - I want to do it but I hardly know where to start. I have a large stack of info I've never gotten entered into my database so I feel guilty about doing new research right now. OTOH, if I do something that I do have some enthusiasm to do, perhaps that will free me up to get started again.

-s2s
-walk dMacs
-meds/vitamins, me + ddogs
-start a lol, start the dishwasher
-make a list of other obits to look up at library

Rest of week:

Tomorrow is desk day, and I need to do a full round of temple/religious school tasks along with reducing the stack of papers on my desk. Somehow need to stick myself to the desk and stay on track.

Wed is errand day - will try to make it short and sweet and do some decluttering/zone cleaning here at home. Dh out for the evening so I have a long day alone. Shop for tomatoes/peppers/what else?

Thursday - visit mother, no meals to p/u because this is Passover and JCC kitchen is closed. Stamp camp in evening.

Friday - body work, dcleaning lady here, assemble the new raised bed, buy pebbles for drainage and garden soil to fill it.
