Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. - Golda Meir
I think that Lady M posted this as SHEM awhile back, and I thought I'd share it again - we can constantly create and recreate ourselves! Can you live with your SELF the rest of your life?

I'm feeling that I'm in a state of transition these days, still moving away from synagogue volunteer commitments toward whatever other things I want in my life. Today's annual meeting is another of those transition points - there will be a new treasurer today/May 1 and I need to work with him to get him up to speed. I'm enjoying having time this spring for hobbies - stamping and genealogy, and not feeling stressed about the additional time of picking up dcousin to visit dmom.
On the other hand, dh seems perpetually in crabbypants mode. DD is home this weekend and we all had word yesterday and the two of them stormed out of the house. I suspect he also kind of resents my new found freedom and thinks I'm not doing enough with it. So there's some equilibrium to be worked out there.
It's raining again today. Enough to make anyone stir crazy too. My bronchial cough is breaking up some, thankfully, altho I'm not at 100%.
Today's main activity is the temple annual meeting at 4 p.m. I need to copy my report but otherwise the day is free. I just put a reminder of the meeting on Facebook; they are worried about having enough bodies for a quorum.
Need to get busy:
-encourage Moses to eat the rest of his breakfast and give him prednisone
-straighten Gr Room
-breakfast
-meds/vitamins for me
-copy my report for the meeting

Morning y'all...
I've been recreating myself for the past three years. When I retired I thought abt the things that brought me joy as a kid and started doing them again.
I also have time now to do things I've always wanted to try...growing sunflowers, vegetables and learning abt genealogy come to mind.
Perhaps twins your crabby pants has stuff going on at work he doesn't want to share. You are abt to enter your true empty nest phase in life..it can be exciting and scary at the same time. Your dd is becoming an independent adult as well so you have many life changing events coming into play all at once. No wonder you boats being rocked a little... Hugs to you

Good Morning Ladies
Last I left you all we were in the midst of baaad T-storms, alot of hail and wind, and heavy rain,we had some damage, but all small and now taken care of.
Hopefully I can start recreating myself, being a emptynester and trying to help not only my children but my parents, and trying to downsize 40+ years of "stuff" is a challenge
Today finds us heading to Dd's house to celebrate 2 big events that occurred last year on this date, our son married his beautiful wife, and 5 hours after they said their I Do's Miss Molly was born, Dd went into labor while having family pictures taken.
Have most of my AM chores done, need to make large salad for festivities, wrap gifts shower and be out the door around 1.
Hope you all have a great day,if not back today will be for sure tomorrow

I know, RR, there have been some work issues from time to time and he was frankly ready to change jobs himself at one point. His primary volunteer commitment also has some wrinkles right now and I know he's frustrated there also. But the thing with dd, he just goes off on her. Yesterday he went off because she has a bag of clothes in her trunk that has been there awhile, since he cleaned the car up for her awhile back - he insisted that she bring it into the house, and she insisted that she didn't need to. And I (probably stupidly) took her side because who cares about what is in her trunk and that set him off even more.
Anyway. the printer is running, so I am on to the next round.
-s2s
-make the bed
-fold lol from dryer (sheets)
-walk dMacs (depending on rain)
I suspect that our brkfast room window is leaking again. The top edge, where it leaked before and was repaired, feels sticky to the touch to me. It hasn't broken through the paint but the paint does look a little warped, altho I could be looking at the repair.
being a emptynester and trying to help not only my children but my parents
I hear you, Molly's Nana! Good to have you posting with us.

Twins, this is just my take on things. Just because you aren't working doesn't mean you do nothing. You are taking care of your dm and dsis's issues. Taking care of 2 aging pets is additional work. Being there for the twins to bounce ideas off of as they graduate college and enter the real world. You also entertain or go with your dh at a drop of a hat to keep him happy. Sooooooo when you take time to do stamping or genealogy you have earned it. I am glad that your synagogue volunteer commitments are coming to an end. For too long they seemed like a full time job for you, not to mention the hassle of dealing with people thinking they knew more than you do. Also, by you being home, you are doing things that your dh doesn't have to worry about doing, thus it actually gives him more free time. So in conclusion, I appreciate all that you do and have done for your family.
Yikes, it is very windy here, 50's with an 80 % chance for rain/thunderstorms. It isn't looking like dh will be able to take a motorcycle trip before his surgery.
The little girls have soccer games at 1:30 and 2 this afternoon. They are only 30 minutes each, so it won't take the whole afternoon.
Molly's Nana enjoy a special afternoon of celebrating with your dfamily.

Today creating a more forgiving persona. I am processing some stuff at a meeting yeasterday a gal that was always the mis crabbypants a number of yrs ago explained at that time in her life was desling with aging parents and working gave me a bit more perspective so that helped me ad I had no interest in being around her before. So I find my self in a bit more forgiving mode not a bad thing!
Also I helped set up the tables the way I had been wanting to try for a while and that worked out perftect for the number of people we had. Learned the former pres of the guild died of old timers at 93 this past week. Another excuse to plant a rose.
I need to go on a walk getting stones for my gaeden these days is fun on my prayer walks.

Twins... putting on my teacher's hat.
It sounds to me like your DH is transfering his anger and frustration from either of his situations to your dd. He's probably thinking...Why won't anyone listen to me and do what I ask??? and then goes off on your dd.
In my classroom when my kids would express anger over what was going on in their household it usually boiled down to this.
Boss gets mad/frustrated at Man/husband/father at work. Man/husband/father gets mad, comes home and yells at the wife/mother. The wife/mother takes offense and yells at her child/son/daughter....child either takes the anger out on either a sibling OR he/she kicks the dog. I am forever feeling sorry for the poor dog

I am struggling these days. I haven't been myself since Thursday. Too many worries. I look all around in every direction and I don't find much support. Sometimes I just get tired being the strong one.
Played hooky today and stayed home from church. I'm not even finding much support there these days.
I did dig the kitchen out... and I'm working on the backlog on the desk. I have a little headache and wonder if it's from sleeping so much yesterday. From the afternoon on I was just in hibernation mode!
Just wanted to come by and say hello to everyone.

(((Harmony))).Not doing much here either. Took a long nap as I was 'all in' again this morning at church and lunch. Been getting in some steps simply by walking the house. DD and Dsonil just got back from a W mart run -I just didn't feel like going. Someone had to go get water(drinking) and then I discovered there was still another gallon in the shadows of the storage area. Oh well, at least now we have enough for well over a week.
Went to lunch after church with dd and 4 others. Our numbers are dwindling as people are beginning to head north. Have to discuss the bulletin with dpastor after he gets back from a trip to TX to see granddaughters and a great grandson. Know they plan to be back by the 30th.
I'm trying to create a "new" me day by day. Hoping the weight I lost this week stays off.
DD had planned to take me to the eye surgeon June 16th but she and her old college dfriend have decided on a trip together. I suggested the Thousand Islands and discovered neither of them have ever been there (to visit). So that's what they're doing. Friend has vacation time she needs to take and dd wanted to do something different before dgs10 is through school for the year. It'll be good for both of them. This girl has been a family friend ever since dd met her in college but we don't see her very much -albeit she lives on the other side of our city up home.
I almost think I'm beginning to feel a little better. I just have been so 'wasted' and it doesn't take much for me to have that 'all in' feeling.
