It's sunny and beautiful here today! I hope your Saturday is sunny as well, and that we're able to make the most of our time with family and friends.

We will be off to ATL for graduation today, dd got home last night to go with us. Still debating about taking one car versus two and some other details. Dh thinks we can park at our hotel today which is near the campus and that their shuttle may take us to the arena. We would walk back, but it's not a long way. (Wow, looks like it's only .4 of a mile, we could walk both ways, assuming we can park at the hotel.)

I wanted to sleep a little later but ddogs had different ideas. I'm guessing we should be out of here around 11 a.m.

Congratulations to DS, Twins and wishing you all a very good day/weekend! It's sunny here too and I believe it's sunny up home.

Finally going to see my friend (the one who's our neighbor up home and lives in Zephyrhills here -she has treated all winter for ovarian cancer and it's the first time we've been able to get together). She's in remission right now but very weak. Her tests have all come back good and they're leaving Monday morning for up home. She's either had dr appointments or I've been sick, etc barring us from getting together all winter. Only going over for about an hour or so.

Emotional night here. Boiled down to ds-R being quite concerned that dh will overdo. So some texts were flying back and forth between him, dd and me. Hopefully things will quiet down over the weekend. Dh did text me this morning that he was walking with no pain. Hopefully that will continue -but not so much that he doesn't know he has to 'baby' that knee. He has no driving for 3 days and no kneeling, bending, lifting for 3 weeks. Not sure he'll be able to adhere to that. Those of you with workaholic husbands and top work ethics know what I mean. I told dh this morning -"Do not push, don't make me come up there".

Wondering what's up with ddil#1 though. She posted some gorgeous pictures of the campground on FB (they have one spectacular view from their RV!). Her dd had commented "You deserve it after the week you've had". I'm afraid to ask. I do know she's lost a very dear friend -our County Sheriff of over 4 decades passed away yesterday from cancer and that may be it. She was very close to this man and he treated her like a daughter. When she was given a deputy of the year award 2 years ago he had asked that he be the one to give it to her. I'm hoping that's all it is -well that's hard enough. But when I hear she's had a hard time I immediately think of her aggressive breast cancer (she's a 5 year survivor -or almost).

I had a very rough night sleeping and finally took a b enadryl about 12:30/1. Still kept waking up, only dozing most of the night. Then dh texted me about 7am and I was finally sleeping. I'm s2s now, bed made, meds taken, breakfast eaten and hair washed. Going to leave here about 10/10:15.

I had well over 7,000 steps in yesterday and was left wondering how I'd accomplished that. I used to set my goal at the 10,000 and like Kathryn, lowered my expectations. Seem to be doing better at them since I did that. I'm trying for 6,000 absolutely and hopefully the 7,000. Need to get going on that if I expect that to happen today. It doesn't happen magically if I sit on the couch. Imagine that!

Thank you, Dove. He was a very photogenic puppy. The rescue took a number of pretty cute pictures of him before he became ours.
I need to get moving and out the door to work. Pizza party afterward in honor of a coworker who is leaving.

We are having a beautiful sunny day here too. We've been having cooler mornings and lower humidity which is absolutely wonderful.

Dee, you know I understand about your DH. I don't think they understand what worry they cause us...mine just thinks I shouldn't worry. Yeah.

So I was going to go cut back a huge bush that is out of control...and been on my mind. Went outside and there was the big truck, all white and shiny in the sunlight except for the windows. So I got the ladder out and worked on the windows inside and out. These are big square panels, some bigger than my house windows. It was not just a spray and wipe. It was scraping and wiping over and over. One window had film on it but the film was gone, just the glue left. Well, they are the best I could do after a couple hours. Now I'm back to raw skin on my hands. I'd slept with medical salve on my fingers with gloves and they were beginning to heal. I guess I'll have to medicate and put the gloves back on.

I think I'll go look at the bush first before that, and definitely wear garden gloves.

Y'all have a wonderful day. It will be quiet here (I hope). The guys wanted to work today so DH has them out on 2 separate jobs. I don't like working Saturdays. We definitely need more rest than that. Yesterday I told him we needed to quit working before every vehicle and equipment falls apart and we get so stiff that we can't move. You should have seen how we struggled last evening. Everything in slow motion as we tried to get up and down. Oh well, such are the golden years!

This morning I finished up my task from last night. So the credit cards are all reconciled and the chits pulled and shredded. I've moved the shredder out from under dh's desk so I have no excuse not to shred things immediately (before I had to move him away from his keyboard to reach the shredder. I still have an archive box of things to shred but will start that project after I finish the year-end accounting. In theory it is easy. I set an hourly alarm and go over and shred 10 pieces of paper and walk away. That gets me standing and moving each hour and, eventually, the box will be empty (my guess is there's 400 - 800 pieces of paper so it will take 40 - 80 trips to the shredder to complete the task.)

I still have to reconcile bank accounts but that isn't as big a job since we use credit cards more than debit cards.

I put away the tasks that I have waiting for me to do in the to-do filing frames and so my desk is pretty neat (not perfect but more wood showing than paper.

I've pulled out all the accounting stuff and put it in a filing box. Today I'll probably sort it into file folders and then put the folders back into the filing box. This is my stash & dash box and is covered with black 'marble' contact paper and normally sits under a side table by the couch. It can be out and not be as jarring as almost any other container for large numbers of papers.

I note that I still have to file fiscal 2014's papers in the to-do filing frame. We moved right after completing the year-end accounting last year and I never actually filed things away. I'm not actually sure where to store them now so will have to go have a look in the office (and possibly the storage cupboard.) In the past, the year-end files were all in a binder, one binder for each year. The weight of the binders on the bottom of the filing cabinet drawer damaged the bottom of the drawer (the drawers are designed for hanging files.) Dh fixed the drawer when we moved but I had to get rid of the binders. Sigh... I like that storage method best so need to either find a place to store the binders (inside a file box in the storage cupboard, perhaps?) or file the papers in folder and put those in the hanging folders in the filing cabinet.

Good morning! It is a sunny Saturday today here, too, and we are headed for an outdoor festival here on the town square. DS will be part of the local entertainment, and I'm looking forward to seeing a friend/former student who is has an antique booth set up with her dad. May be a long day for us -- ds performs at 1:00 and then again at 6:00, but maybe we can keep dgs entertained... he does NOT understand the part about being still and quiet. I'm still amazed that the little girl in front of us at church, born within 24 hours of dgs, can make it through an entire church service without causing problems... and dgs can't be still for half that time! (Someone please tell me he WILL grow out of this! )

I just heard there was an earthquake near holland michigan d helia - I think maybe 5 miles south of galesburg michigan 4.0

The deck tile boxes are now in their new home (someone from another building took them.) That means my living room is back in order and we also had a chance to check out apartments in the other building. She has the same view as our kitchen and office and can't see our building at all so it is quite an open view.

I've had lunch now and need to track that. Then dh and I should do something. He's working on finishing a long novel today so is happy reading in the living room. Every window is open here because it is a warm day plus our radiators are still set to heat. So the apartment has a gentle breeze and the sounds of outside.
