Friday Finish

What will you finish up today so you feel the week was productive?

Lilac will be finishing the surgery-round for her dh, getting him back to his home to recover.

Twins will be returning home after her dd has graduated.

Elizabeth will be finishing the packing of her new-to-her car and heading off on a camping trip.

If it wasn't just 6 a.m. and I was working with more sleep under my belt, I would be able to remember what the rest of you have been focusing on this week. Or, if I was finished my year-end accounting, I would have time to glance through the PWYC this week and fill in something for everyone.

But I'm tired but unable to sleep because of the pressure of getting my work done, plus the knowledge that the construction noise will start up in less than an hour. So I'll press post and leave you all to fill in your own finishing goals.

Good morning! Thank you for opening Kathryn. We are up and Dd is in the shower. We turned out the lights at 9:30 last night. My bd was 54, so good thing dh got up when he did. Gotta go almost my turn to shower.

Today I will be finishing up many Desk Day items including Mother's Day Card mailings. (Anyone need to be reminded :?: ) Must call dcousin's wife or other dcousin's dd to learn about get-together.

Errands:
Yesterday dd and I grocery shopped and went by pharmacy 1.
Today I'll need to go by the P.O., bank and vitamin shop.

Wish I didn't have to go by the P.O. but I made the same mistake as last year  and bought a card that needs extra postage, not for weight but for thickness. Nope, didn't buy another music one but one that has paper-folding decoration inside. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the notation in the stamp space. I assume "needs extra postage" must mean the big postage price for thickness again, but I can't be sure. You would think I would learn.

Thinking I should go ahead and make a pie for ds in celebration of his promotion. Will probably see him over the weekend one way or another.

I've only finished reconciling the C$ bank account. There were only 3 months to do but it took over 2 hours. I made mistake after mistake with payroll and still will need the accountant to clear it up but I got it to the point where I can reconcile. After finding error after error, I thought I had it all cleared up but then discovered my dyslexia had me transpose two numbers so I was still off by $270. Sigh...

I'm going to have my breakfast now (I'm starving) and then finish up the US$ bank reconciliation which should be much faster.

I'm really upset with myself at this point and it is embarrassing to have to show all this mistakes to the accountant.

Good morning. I always have a "Finish" list in my mind it seems. I don't know about a schedule, either. I just keep putting out hot-spots all over. Whatever is the worst at the moment.

Presently I'm finishing my desk, stuff that has sat there mostly all week. I finished 50% of my work from yesterday. After mail comes maybe I'll be able to finish the rest of it.

I need to do a conga around here. I'm annoyed enough to just take the garbage can around and pitch everything I'm tired of looking at. (I better not). DH has been fixing tools this past week, seems he gets one thing fixed and another breaks. I'm glad he can do this, but he never works on his workbench because it is covered with stuff. He does it at the kitchen table, and presently it's 1/2 covered by his cloth/pad and miscellaneous tools. Hard for me to clean up the kitchen and then look over at that.... I don't know what's wrong with me, I seem to have less and less patience for this kind of stuff around here.

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, Kathryn. I know all too well that feeling of
tired but unable to sleep because of the pressure of getting my work done
so I hope that you will have enough progress today to let you sleep tonight.

My day today is arranged around errands this afternoon in TheBigCity. There are 3 stores in the same neighborhood on the east side of town that I must visit, and from there it depends on what success I find at the first 3 stores.

I think I will wait on a Sam's run until tomorrow since it is on the opposite side of the city from where I'll be shopping today. I hate to go to Sam's on Saturdays, but the store will be on the way home from the sewing group meeting location. I don't have anything else scheduled for tomorrow besides the meeting, so there will be plenty of time. The main things I need to buy there are fresh veggies to take to Sunday lunch at DSis's, and that part of the store should not be overly crowded.

I want to do a declutter session this morning, but need to finish some desk work first and also drink more water.

Hi everyone!!

Dinner is in the crock pot. Tonight we are having chili.

I did all the laundry yesterday as I was off work. It's May and as usual, vehicles are unavailable due to the annual inspections by the city.

I did 2 of the massive heavy blankets yesterday. They go into the oversize washers.

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous here today, so I think I might sit on the balcony and read.

The irritating noises started way later this morning (yesterday it was 6:30) and are less (I think, maybe I'm getting used to them.)

I've finished the proper bank reconciliation, messed up the Paypal reconciliation (it asked for the opening balance which I gave it in US$ and it put it in as C$ and there's no way to change it.) I know all the entries are in there and accounted for so I don't need to worry, once the accountant helps me fix this, it will take 2 minutes to reconcile the year since there are only 18 entries.

I've also printed off the first of reports and started the second half of the expense reconciliation.

As I'm starting to get irritated by the noise, I shall take my shower now.

Left to do: 8 to-do items of varying complexity, plus printing 6 reports. And finishing and faxing a form to the US accountant.

It is 11, I might finish today which leaves all day tomorrow to write a sermon.

Good morning, not hardly wanting to post this morning because today Macs leaves us. It is time - during the night before last he had increasing difficulty getting up and around, needing support for his front legs also. He is still moving around a bit, but had a fall this morning with extensive diarrhea. Dneighbor who checked on him yesterday said he had moved from place to place at times, but she could never convince him to get up to go outside for a potty break or fresh air. Vet has blocked out 3 - 4 p.m. today. DD still in Knoxville this morning - stayed with a friend for a last celebration - after we had dinner in K-town before coming back last night and will be home before then. He smells awful, I need to give him a sponge bath with baby wipes, I think.

Yesterday we left around 8 a.m. Met with dd's professor that leads the archaeology trip to Jordan next month - dh liked her and was reassured by her knowledge of the Middle East and professional demeanor. Graduation was at 1 p.m. and we were at the arena around noon. Friends D and P whom dd considers to be alternate (and mostly) nicer parents were there, as was ds of course and our rabbi, who was attending two graduations there yesterday. Very nice dinner altho felt that waitress rushed us through a bit, but we were back on the road around 6 p.m. or so and home at 8 p.m., earlier than I had expected. Very very long graduation again!

I think (hope!) we have a relatively quiet weekend. DD and I are leaving on Tuesday for the genealogy conference in the St Louis area so will need to think about that approaching. Hope to go see dmom on Sunday with my kids.

Oh, (((((Twins))))) No words. How awful for it to be this week for you, it feels like you are being piled onto with trials.
