How grateful I am for each of you here.
I made the mistake of looking at our bank account at about 4:15!

Usually we have a deposit from our retirement to our checking by the 25th of the month -so on a holiday weekend like this last week, it would often go in on Friday and certainly no later than Tuesday, the 26th. Well, as of today, the 27th there is still no deposit. Guess than means I'll have to 'do somebody else's job' and call and see what's going on. So of course I didn't go back to sleep. Slept well until then.
I'm up and dressed, meds taken and bed made. We forgot to put the trash out last night & recyclables. So, I got dressed and took my recyclables from the office, then the trash. DD brought the 2nd bin from the screened porch. We were pretty sure they would at least be late today because of the holiday. They're usually here before 6am.
She has a very nice group of friends at school, for which we are extremely grateful.
Oh, if that had only happened here, Helia. GD sure had lots of opportunities for that and for all kinds of activities. Unfortunately anything that she started was soon given up -reason? She hated the discipline and practice.

Good morning SHEville!
Dh slipped out of bed this morning without me even noticing (my fitbit didn't register it) so I didn't wake up until 7:40 when the noise from the construction got to be too much. My fitbit alarm (to take ibuprofen) would have woken me up 20 minutes later so all's good.
In the night I was sore and finally, at 3, got up and went to the bathroom and put on the emugel to relieve the pain in the knee. It must have done the trick because my sleep record after that was perfect (long stretches of nothing, then brief bits of restlessness, then back to deep sleep.)
I'm going with decaf tea this morning. Have packed decaf tea and licorice tea for the trip, along with my chocolate. Will pack my vitamins later this morning.

We had a nice evening out - dinner at a friend's house. This was the dinner that dd objected to, but she was very sociable and accepting of advice regarding her week in Israel. Seeing ds animated in talking to her almost gives me hope that he's not as socially inept as he usually seems to us. He was witty and conversational.
I have a busy days today and tomorrow.
Today
-10 a.m. - neighbors for coffee and cookies
-1:30-3 p.m body work
-then visit dmom, but won't have meals today
-4:45 pedicure
-6:15 temple board meeting for which I don't have to prep

I can just show up as past president!
Tomorrow
-visit dsis, dd will pick up meals and go visit mother
So I need to get moving right now...
-quick breakfast/meds
-s2s quickly
-clear kitchen counters

LO cards are set up for each hour today. Had to shuffle several cards because LO is attending a Baseball camp this afternoon and has Karate lessons this evening. Those 2 events took 4 hours out of his regular time schedule.
I've removed the piano keyboard from DGD3 room. Not exactly sure where it is going to end up being, but I just know it doesn't belong in her room. I am thinking where would be the best place for setting up a musical area with existing instruments (keyboard, drums, guitar, amp & stands). There are 3 rooms it might work in but I'm not sure which would work out the best. I will probably try one and it if doesn't work out then move the instruments to one of the other areas. We don't play the instruments regularly, but we don't want to get rid of them because we WANT to play them as soon as time allows.
B: Breakfast pizza - TOTAL FLOP!! This has been removed from menu plan system.
L: Chicken Enchilada casserole
D: Leftovers
Visited colorist this morning so that card is done for 22 days.

Home again, my goal for the moment is to finish a.m. routine before I leave again:
-make the bed
-reboot laundry (started a load of towels before I left)
-kitchen counters/breakfast bar counter
-10 more items off of kitchen table
-take out kitchen garbage

Just watched a Keystone Cop drama from the balcony.
To set the scene. My balcony faces north (so I see to the west and east off the sides.) There's a bridge across the river right below me and an island in the river, accessible from the bridge. It is at rapids so people will whitewater kayak there. False alarms are the norm because people driving over the bridge, look down, see someone in the water and call 911. It is getting to the point where the kayakers (and one person who surfs on a standing wave there) have been threatened with $5K fines for causing false alarms (although it isn't their fault people are calling 911 - they have signs up on the island and are often close enough that you can talk to them from the path by the shore - it is people driving over the bridge who are calling in the false reports.)
From the south, came a fire truck. I heard the siren. He turned west onto the parkway instead of going on the bridge, so I thought the emergency might be up at the beach, switched to the balcony where I can see towards the beach.
By the time I got to the second balcony, the fire truck had made it to the turnaround point of the parkway and was coming back towards the intersection from the west - sirened his way through and went to the island. Almost directly behind was the paramedic truck and the truck pulling the rescue boat. Did they turn to the island? No.... they went straight through. There is another landing about 1.5 miles down the road and I assumed they were heading there in order to 'catch' whoever it was floating downriver. I went inside to grab the binoculars to see if I could spot someone in the water.
As I got back onto the balcony, the paramedics and the boat had turned around and were coming back onto the bridge from the east. Along comes another firetruck from the west, not turning at the bridge but going through the intersection and turning around at the first turnaround. The ambulance did it right. Another paramedic truck without a siren turned onto the bridge from the east but I don't know where he came from to begin with, not likely that direction since the EMT stations are to our south.
So, on the island are 2 firetrucks, 2 paramedic trucks, an ambulance and the truck pulling the rescue boat. And, no emergency. Worse, the trucks all now have to make illegal turns back onto the bridge because the proper route back onto the bridge to go south is to drive under the bridge and circle around but the trucks are too tall to do that.
Sigh... what a waste of gas, time, and what if there was an emergency somewhere else?
Not sure what the solution is. There's a life ring on the island, in memory of those who have drowned so it is a dangerous place but I'm a strong believer in the Darwin Theory and if they want to do something that dangerous, fine, but I'm not calling 911 unless what I see is obviously a person in distress.
BTW: most of the people who drown there are drunks taking a small craft back from the Quebec side (lower legal drinking age) to Ontario, at night and overturn and get swept over the rapids (there are three sets), people going out on the ice in the spring to rescue their dogs, or people swimming well past the safety line at the beach and getting caught in the current. I don't think any whitewater kayaker or surfer has died or even been injured.)

Morning y'all..
My day is definitely topsy-turvey. When we went to walk the dogs last night Sweetie found a little stray sitting in our entry way. Cute little male Shih Tzu who was a very thirsty guy. I found a collar and leash and my neighbor and I went searching for his home. There are only 33 homes in our community and we know everyone and also who owns what dog. We were hoping someone might recognize this little guy but no luck.
My girlfriend gave me a small kennel and dog food. I have big dogs so mine wouldn't work as well. "Blackie" is very well behaved., house broken and cute as a button. Sadie and Willis realize something is going on, but we don't plan to make any introductions. I took Blackie to the vets to see if he had a chip...nope. Vet told me he is between 1-2 yrs old. I spent the first part of the morning driving around looking for lost dog fliers...saw none. Posted Found Dog on several sites including Craigs list. May be too soon to hear from someone, but if this little guy was mine...or if Willis or Sadie got out...I would be frantically looking for him. The vet said because Blackie has not been nuetured he could have travelled great distances.
All I know is if we hadn't found Blackie last night, he could have become a great snickie-snack for the owls or coyotes. I do have several people in my area that are interested in taking him if no owners are found. I told them that might be possible, because having my other two dogs here is making for some interesting ways to exercise and feed dogs, but that they would have to foster him as such for a week or ten day in case the real owners showed up.
Keeping my fingers crossed I can find his real owners. He love his kennel and has been sleeping next to me all morning while I search the net posting his information and trying to find his real home. If I didn't already have my two I would gladly let him stay here with me

Lucky Blackie!
Back from physio. Walked there and back. It isn't near as far as I thought, just 1700 steps. Found a nicer quiet street/park/pathway route home that avoids the busy, industrial, street. The busy 'high street' takes me past the frozen yoghurt shop so I know better than to take that route!
