I hope you will thrive at whatever you do today.

I'm seriously thinking I should have gone for tea with caffeine this morning. I'm still 'thick' but have a lot to do today. It is crazy overcast here (oh, and raining now, at least out the north window, the east window looks dry.)

So much for eating outside on the balcony at lunch. Which also means I have to clear off the dining room table. It isn't bad, but it isn't clear, either.

Really raining now, I can hear it. That's an issue being up high and many floors above me, unless the rain is hard against the window, you seldom hear it unless it is absolutely pouring, in which case I can hear it hit the leaves of the trees in the woods next to us.

We have a guest at lunch. Before then, I need to get to the grocery store to buy things for a salad and perhaps a dessert. Plus I need to cook the lunch and tidy the apartment.

At some point today I have to gas up the car and go to the bank after doing payroll.

Plus the regular chores I have yet to get done this week.

Good morning! I'm hoping to leave in an hour and a half! This is my trip to get ds to Boston for his summer internship there. He'll be in Cambridge, which is a nice town. We'll travel about 500 miles today. No, I'm not packed - but that won't be complicated. I did all the laundry yesterday. I have the file with all the travel paperwork together and have taken everything I need out of my van, which dh is going to use while I'm gone. I've had some bfast (am working on my 2nd cup of tea) and have taken dd19 to her job. I've said good bye to dd17 too. And I've printed out directions to hotel #1 and #2. Even though I now have a smart phone, I'm still taking paper directions and an atlas. LOL! Old habits die hard, I guess.

Before we get on the interstate, we need to go to campus so (1) ds can pay his rent and so (2) I can pick up my jogging shoes which I left there after my walk to work yesterday.

Definitely drinking tea with caffeine over here. I didn't sleep well last night.

Have a good day friends!

Happy travels to you, Helia. Pretty sure you'll pass by near to where we live in NY state. But since I'm in FL still I probably won't wave as you go by. The NY thruway is about 1/2 mile due north of us -can hear the traffic from there.

I was awake for a couple of hours in the night, but then slept until almost 8a.m. Wow! I'm now s2s, bed made, meds done and that's as far as I've gotten. Going to get breakfast and a cup of coffee very shortly. Then I need to make a W al mart run for just a few things. Also need to pick up at least a couple of gallons of water.

Know dh said they were to have your kind of weather too, Kathryn. Hoping Helia doesn't have much of that weather to travel through.

Going to see if I can get my morning going and work at 'thriving'.

I don't think I got enough sleep last night. Still having trouble getting to sleep, then I was awake starting around 5:30 this morning and finally got up around 6:15. I want to be on the road to see dsis by 10 this morning, so was planning to be up earlier, just not quite that early.

I'm worried about getting dd's room mucked out for dh's daunt to use in beginning June 10. It looks unbelievably bad and I'm not getting time to work with her (or work alone) on it. I keep telling myself that this is a short week - the holiday and then I'm away today so there hasn't been much time anyway.

I am finally dismantling dog beds in our bedroom. They each had a therapeutic thick pet bed with a cheaper bed that they could fluff and move around on top. I believe I can donate the nicer beds but I'm undecided as to whether we will eventually have another dog. The covers of the cheaper beds are washable but the insides are looking pretty rough - I don't know if one of the shelters would want them. And I assume used dog toys and tennis balls couldn't be donated either. Still feeling pretty emotional but getting through.

-s2s
-breakfast and meds
-make the bed
-reboot laundry
-put away pillows from front porch (I changed them out yesterday)

aaaaggghh! I didn't get this posted earlier...leaving soon.

Well, there may be another time, Dee! I was wondering if we would pass near your home. We're taking 90 across the state.
I hope your lunch with friends is enjoyable, Kathryn.

The weather is beautiful and sunny here, Dee. I don't think there will be rain in Boston until Sunday - but I didn't check New York's weather!

It is 10 a.m. - and ds just got up 15 minutes ago. I have done s2s and self-care and gotten everything packed except for putting books in my backpack. I have also prepped my purse, folded 2 and put away 3 small lols, made the bed, and unloaded the dw.

While I wait for ds, I'll:
- put my books in my backpack
- reload dw
- load the car
- post quiz grades

Good morning all! I have completed all the child support paperwork and sent it to the x, along with notes on how things were calculated. (Since I only had a job part of the year, we cannot simply take the value on my W2. I scaled it on the assumption that this year, I will have the same salary, very likely since the state has a one year probation period.) Tonight, I will set that up on auto-pay. I also found, after much searching around, the amount we need to pay to get the paperwork filed. I got the church webwork done. Wednesday Night Out is on hiatus for the summer, so no more menu postings. Sometimes, I didn't get the info in time, other times really late. Not having to get that out fast will leave me time to do some upgrades that I would like the pastor and youth director to examine before going live.

Tonight I want to finish scanning my trust documents, create a readme file for them, and burn them to DVDs. I also need to get around to fixing the garage door, but I don't know if I have screws. I should at least check that tonight. I can't just go get screws before going home, because I am picking up DD13.

Tomorrow is pay day, YEAH! I will replace the $1000 I borrowed from savings, pay the remaining two bills (not overdue, just due later), and see what is left for the next two weeks. Probably not a whole lot, but enough.

Good morning.
Enough is good, Elizabeth. :)
((Twins))
Have a safe trip, Helia. Having lived in Hawaii for a couple of years and having experienced "island fever" knowing I couldn't drive anywhere but around the island, I love the idea that I could jump on I-90 and drive all the way to Boston! Never have done, but I could.
Have a beautiful Thursday, everyone.

Got dressed and whipped over to the grocery store in the car because it was raining when I left the apartment (and stopped by the time I left the garage!) Having the car allowed me to pick up a supply of frozen dinners and 10lbs of potatoes as well as all I needed for lunch. Also gassed up the car, although we'll be going out in it again later this afternoon.

Got back home at 11. Made up the faux quiche and got it into the oven, made salad dressing and the salad by 11:40, quickly did a stash and dash, changed clothes at 11:55 and got the table set as our guest was coming upstairs.

We ate inside because it is low 60's and windy although the sun is out now.

Slice of life:

(While sitting at the dining table with our guest, me with my back to the patio door.)

Me:...and we don't spend as much time out on the balcony as we'd like due to the wind.

(A gust of wind slides the screen door open as I am talking.)

Guest: That was impressive....

Now to get the payroll done since our afternoon errand includes the bank. I'm also going to do my physio (which I skipped earlier.) Dh has a conference call at 3 so we'll be leaving around 3:30.
