Tuesday's Trails

What path are you taking to being productive today?

Some trails lead to distraction, others dead-end at quagmires, others take us where we need to go by the scenic route. Finally there are direct (but often boring) trails.

I'm hoping for direct and boring, but heading off into distraction in the afternoon. We'll see what my email brings.

Dh and ds are heading onto literal trails to do some hiking practice for their trip in the fall.

I have the house to myself so hope to finally get all the housework done today.

Well I got distracted by the trails this computer took me on. Now it's time to get moving. Had planned to have breakfast, dishes done and my hair washed by the time dsonil got home from work. Notta. Not sure how he'll work his schedule now that he's working nights. Was a bit difficult yesterday as every time I went into the living room, no matter how quiet, he'd wake up. But on the good side we only have today & tomorrow to get through. I'll be gone by Friday -at least that's my plan -to hit the trail north.

I've gotten a lot of packing done and may still try to take a few more things out of my suitcase. I figure I'm only going to be gone less than 5 months before it's time to hit the trail back down here. Then it's anyone's guess what we'll be doing. Dsonil has to work at C oca C ola for 6 months and then can start applying for a transfer. That's his 'want to'. Whether he transfers or not, their plan is to move from here -away from here. Sad that. I like Lakeland but it's becoming uncomfortable for all of us here.

My trail today was a scenic drive out to yoga, then pdoc. Lots of food for thought there.

Sending prayers to those most in need.

"Just because someone needs to be told something, doesn't mean you have to be the one who tells them." Harriet's DM.

walked 3 k this afternoon after a nap.
Winter has come on schedule this year. Snow in the south. Cold nights / mornings and sunny days the norm here.
Lots of frosts forecast thru winter to go with this weather cycle, to go with the floods that devastate in US. Prayers for all affected in that mayhem.

Time for washing up then bed.

I too, remember Harriet quoting just this thing from her DM many times over the years. (And we have been here YEARS!)

Have a sore big toe (on the other foot now). I was cutting my nails and the right side of the nail tore back into the skin. Had a nice big spot on my sock last night. I need to make another store run to pick up an antibiotic cream or something and get a good type of bandaid for the end of my toe. Hadn't figured on going out this morning.

Have a sink full of dishes to get done. Never got to them last night.

DD and I made a W M run last evening. It had been pouring and lightning here so we waited for it to let up. Thought it had so we left. First went to the bank to deposit dsonil's check. The closer we got to that part of town the worse the storm became. Went over to WM and sat for over an hour. It was storming too bad to just drive home and certainly too bad for us to go in the store. We finally went in when it was raining lightly but the lightning was frightful. Started pouring again as soon as we were inside. Dh called me while we were in there and I had to go to the lobby to hear. Told me to call him later. Went back in, got just a couple of things and went to the car. (When we got out of the car we stepped in about 2" of water. Nice.) Came home and watched (taped) Wheel & Jeopardy.

Dsonil's first overnight was quite busy. Guess the lightning had taken out half the plant. The day crew is still working on bringing things back up. He works tonight then is off for 2 days. Part of me wonders if he'll have to go in for overtime tomorrow.

Not sure how we're going to handle the outcome of Thursday's court hearing for gd. DBIL/DSisIL need to be told, if only for their own protection. Not looking forward to this. If they are to be told before we leave I almost think dd will go there with me. But we may also leave it for dh to tell his db and he can tell dsisil.

Just talked to a Telehealth nurse. I need to go back to emergency. The nausea is worse today even though I already took my medication this morning.

Hope they can find relief for you, CathyS. No fun being in the state you're in.

Best laid plans department: I was busily taking a couple of things to the car and brining in gallons of water. Was going back out to get rest of water, my walker and our Disney bracelets. Had to make a quick turn around and come back into the bathroom. I had turned on the kitchen lights (noticing that the blinds were all closed & I figured dd did that last night). Only as I came back did I realize dsonil was asleep in the recliner. He had gone out to his work shed a little earlier. Guess the overnight caught up with him. But now I realize I'm 'trapped' in the trail between our bathroom/bedroom/office. Did close the door to the office so I can maybe finish up my packing -or at least as far as I can get. At some point I'll leave and go to WM. Sure it's going to be hard for him to find a good sleeping pattern for a while. But he'll have the summer to get in a routine. But once dd comes home, I'm sure it'll be a new learning curve.

Okay then.....off to do "one thing at a time" in our room and office.......Poof>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

After frightful thunder & lightening here last nite we just had rain it has stopped now. I got the last of the seeds I bagged up out in the trash today it is at the curb. Glad it is rainy now instead of the last of the week with school play days scheduled.

I need to dry my hair.
ToddlerN is coming noonish iffy on knitting meeting my project is too big to haul around any way.

I let hens out early the run was pretty sloppy so they were scrambeling around for worms it was fun to watch!

Yesterday I watched a tow truck that pulled a 4x4 out if the field that broke down, the tow truck had to have a 2nd tow truck to get it out all the neighbors were standing around watching.

I need to load the planting pots to recycle.

Time to get on the ex. Bike.

((Cathy)) Not fun. I hope you can get this resolved soon.

Another quiet day, thankfully. I hope I can avoid going off on a tangent. Later I am taking ds to get pants turned up and hemmed and dropping his suit at the cleaners. All part of dh's "job hunt" assignments. I've already taken out the garbage - did it last night when I needed to move cars around.

-start lol
-breakfast/meds
-clear and wipe kitchen counters and breakfast bar
-address and put stamps on dkids thank you notes
-upstairs do 2K steps on treadmill, or walk outside?

Quiet. Very very quiet here.

DD just picked DGD4 up.

LO is at Baseketball camp. He is attending his 2nd of 3 summer camps this week. Two of the summer camps are baseball related. The other summer camp is Basketball fundamentals. AFter LO got out of camp yesterday, we went swimming, attended Karate lesson and went to his T-Ball practice. There wasn't much free time.

Today after LO gets out of basketball camp, we will eat at summer lunch program @ school, go to summer library program this afternoon and then LO has a T-Ball game tonight. Again.....another day with very little free time. LO activities has filled my calendar with very little time left to do anything else.

reminding myself......Only 3 more weeks of T-ball and that sport will be over for the year.

I love love love LOVE menu planning system. Meals are easy to keep up with. I can't remember the last time that I had a "OH NO....what are we going to eat" moment. I try to do something each day to make the developing menu planning system better. Sometime it is a very small improvement, but those small improvements are adding up over a period of time.
