Tackling Tuesday

What should you be tackling today?

While habits are wonderful for keeping things running smoothly, you should build time into your schedule so you can tackle less frequent or seasonal projects.

At some point today, I hope to tackle my table and wreath decorations. They've been the same since April so time for an update to a more summery rather than Easter/spring look.

Unfortunately, I also have to tackle a sermon and service today.

And MF got in touch with me sooner than I expected, dropping two more columns into my lap to edit. It is a two-parter and I tossed them back to him with major structural changes since he opened with one topic and moved into another topic and never resolved the first properly.

I just gave him a new structure and opening & closing paragraph for the first column so the ball is in his court. Today is his deadline for the column so I'm praying he's writing ahead and these are for the following two weeks, not today.

I'm up and have had breakfast. Dh's morning movie has been knocked off his list because it is #2 in a series. I'm debating going to one of the other movies with him but not sure. Depends how the rest of my morning goes.

Off to s2s first.

I have been so busy tackling projects that I haven't posted. 2 weeks ago tomorrow or the next day, the guy delivered the hardwood flooring to acclimate to our home. That involved moving all furniture to one end. Then I had to empty both hutches. That Sunday we moved furniture, either to the sunroom or tiled dining area. The guy was here all day Monday thru Wednesday. The flooring looks great. Then we started the installation of new floor trim, casings for the doors and windows. We did the 3 walls that would have furniture and now he is working on the hallway wall. On Friday we had the upholstered furniture professionally cleaned. We put the furniture back in place on Sunday. Of course, all the wood furniture needed cleaned, since it sat in the sunroom. I have neglected deep cleaning the fronts and sides of the hutches for too long. I usually do the open shelves and tell the sides and fronts that they will get cleaned next time. Next time is here and it is slow going. I have them cleaned and oiled. I am going to clean all the drawers outside and in before replacing them. After that I will need to buff everything really good before replacing everything on the open shelves and behind the lower door shelves. Lots of work but will look great when I am done. This sure is killing my hips and knees though.

I have been able to walk these last 2 + weeks with either both dds or a dd and a dgd18.

Anxious to hear from Dee.

I better shower and run to the grocery store before I tackle what needs done. Hope you all have a great day.

We rotated all the furniture 90 degrees and I love this arrangement with the new flooring.

And again a late start to the day.

-s2s
-reboot laundry
-clear kitchen counters/breakfast bar counter
-make the bed
-put together lasagne and put in freezer

OMM today:
-paint outside table if we are able
-get lasagne put together
-ds has appt w therapist at 2 p.m. and I will drive him
-temple exec committee at 5:30
-routines, desk day et al
-clean up at stamping desk

Ideally, dd and I would paint this morning while the day is cooler, but she needs to do other things first. I don't want to give her an out to not get that stuff done.

I've s2s and done my physio for the morning (will do another round in the evening, probably since the stretches leave me feeling better.)

Now to get to work, either on housework or writing.

Good morning! The data cube is back up and running, so I can get some useful work done at payroll. At home, I will be tackling the animal org minutes (meeting is tomorrow) and the swamp cooler put back together and put away tools. Of course, I have DD13 tonight, so I will be able to get on the roof. All that needs to be done up top is screw the cover back on. I am sure there will be other tasks needing to be done, but those are the biggies.

Last night, a man came over to meet the cats in their own environment. As usual, Briggs was the greeter, and he is the one that will be adopted. However, the other cats liked him as well. Lara, usually found on top of the kitchen cabinets when strangers come, decided to come down. Cleo, as usual in a cabinet, came out and allowed him to pet her. Tiki let him sit about 3 feet from her and pet her. For reference, DD13 cannot usually do that, and Tiki has known DD since she was born. Stratton did not appreciate a visitor and stayed in DD's room.

Harriet: Never fear for my friend's(?) chickens. They have a luxury chicken coop to avoid predators at night. The horrible beasts will live to be very old (unless they attack me again). I have decided to tell her if she asks me to go near them, that if they attack again I will (1) defend myself with as much force as I deem necessary and (2) report them to animal services.

Good morning.

Working 11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, so was able to run first thing this morning.

Yay for Briggs getting a home, Elizabeth. I'm sure you will miss him though. His new dad sounds like he got the seal of approval from most of the kitties.

Have a good tackling Tuesday, everyone.

Well, Elizabeth, I just can't figure out why your chicken friend invites you to come and I'm not sure just why you go there. You are braver than I'd be!

Nancy, I remember an a/c sounding noisy and it turned out to be low on freon (which means a leak somewhere). I hope yours resolves itself.

I have been busy today so far. I was working on the computer last evening because it seemed slow to respond to the mouse... and I tweaked its speed, which helped sort-of. Course, I know it could be much more than the mouse thing...and at one point I just sat there glumly thinking I didn't have the patience or tolerance to deal with any more computer problems after all of that recently. A vast brought up an update which had the Sk ype program noted (I don't understand that at all) and that seemed to mess things up.

When I got everything going pretty good, after running 3 scans and nothing showing up, I was on a roll so I updated all my spreadsheets. I was up late and tired this morning.

So far: took care of huge pile of papers, receipts on desk. Updated one file that I'd forgotten about so far this year. I've S2S also, and have to admit, though I don't usually do it early in the morning, it does add a nice start to the day. Next up:

Go to 2 banks. Must open another account and change one. I have too much in one account and if I fix that and change it to another account I'll get free checks, which is more savings than the interest I get! Have laundry to fold and must finish these floors. Must pick up Rx's ordered yesterday and look at the meats for dinners while I'm there. I might not be eating this stuff, but I still have to cook for DH.

Off I go!

Good for you getting your run in early today, Runkitty! I'm hoping to go for a jog in about 30 minutes.
Yeah, I'm also mystified by Elizabeth and her chicken "friend."

I started this day off slowly with my IGAD syndrome and now I'm really regretting that. I need to leave in about 2 hours for payroll. I have:
- had tea and banana (breakfast)
- checked emails and web sites
- updated quiz grades online
- QT
- s2s and self-care
- long overdue email reply composed and sent to dsil
- kitchen reclaimed: dw unloaded and reloaded and counters wiped down
- checked S workbooks; this took longer than I thought
- looked over the final exam Part I. I have a couple changes to suggest.
- had lunch

Next:
- outline general plan for class today; finish a unit and do a lot of review.
- update laundry
- leave around 1:15 for a jog.

Later:
- go for a jog
- laundry: darks and towels
- payroll
- dinner: leftovers with a cantaloupe cut up and possibly roasted cauliflower
