Thinking Thursday

Some things are just habit and can be done without thinking. For instance, my bed is made and the kitchen dish rack is empty because those are habits with me.
Other things require thought and planning.
Take time from your day today to plan your time and chores.
You still have to work the plan but at least you'll have a road-map to progress or completion.

Today, from noon until tomorrow noon, is my Sabbath. So I will take time this afternoon to think and plan. Things are starting to slow down for the summer but I have 5 Sundays I'm preaching between now and summer holidays so I need to at least be familiar with the readings. I think I might go down to the river and sit on a bench there to do the reading.
Today is a jack-hammer day so the apartment is less than relaxing.
I'm up. Slept acceptably for a second night in a row. The Voltaran gel seems to help me have a better night. Tonight I might try it instead of a pill before bed (normally I take a pill, then put the gel on in the middle of the night.)
Dinner tonight is with dsil and dd. They are in the neighbourhood running errands so planned a dinner with us as well. We are going out to eat because I'm too lazy to cook on my Sabbath. There's an Italian restaurant we've been meaning to try within an easy walk.
After such an active day yesterday and low calorie intake as well, my weight was down a half pound this morning. Nice to see my body doing things the way the system says it should. Updated MyFitnessPal and it shows a dramatic drop. Apparently I haven't been keeping it up to date! (Oh wait, I remember now. I gained 2 pounds over the weekend away and logged that, so it is really only one pound down, not three but the three shows up in the log.)

I wish you a very good day d kathryn... and to all! sitting by the river d kathryn sounds lovely!
I have been popping in and out of the PWYC lately as d uncle has had important appointments.
He has an appointment today and will probably need fluids - so I shall see how long the appointment will end up being.
Wishing you all a wonderful wonderful day.

For the most part I've slept better since I got back home too, Kathryn. Seems nice. Just what is the Voltaran gel? Hadn't heard of it before -though you've evidently mentioned it along the line.
I'm s2s, bed made (you're right -it's a habit), meds and breakfast done. Been pleased with my weight and my blood count. Need to get out and take a walk to start building myself up.

Want to do a 3-minute round robin first though. Have dishes to do and will do those when I return. Think part of me 'balks' at the walk as I'm afraid people will stop me to drop in. Absolutely have to get a walking routine in so it too is 'habit'. We also had mega storms here at different points, Kathryn. Sure they come to visit you after their damage is done here. Had a doozy at bedtime last night. Hopefully it's stopped for a while. Everything is just saturated -lots of places they can't mow.
Dh was shaking his head yesterday. A new permanent down the road backed his trailer/truck 3' over on to the neighbor's yard and of course leaving all sorts of ruts because of the soft ground. When the manager told him he'd have to either fix the ruts and replant them OR the camp staff would do it at an hourly rate he told her it was 'petty'. You wouldn't think so if you saw this person's yard. Everyone has their RV's parked on the driveway and then decks can go out from that point on their own yard. See it was moved last night with even more ruts.

Great way to start.
One good note, noticed that our neighbor 2 RV's up and across the road has his slides out. That may not sound like much but his wife died about 6 years ago and he hasn't been here to stay since, paying his lease every year. Dh said he's actually been out to stay several times. Glad to see/hear that.
DD is leaning even more toward getting a permanent site if/when dsonil's inheritance comes through. (It's been a year since he signed the probate papers from GA). Have no idea how much it will be but probably fairly sizable. His uncle had owned at least 7 pieces of property which have now been sold. But then it was discovered (don't know why they didn't already know) that he had 2 more pieces bordering a golf course. In the meantime 1 heir has died so her share goes to the remaining heirs. After all they've been through in the last few years anything will be nice for them.
Off I go -thinking and working, working and thinking.......
Hi there, Blessedw2 -how is your dd doing? Think and pray for her often.

I am in the MBR sitting by the open window with birds singing outside. Right now I hate to come out of my "sanctuary."
Somewhat enjoyable evening w daunt, altho dh fell asleep almost immediately after dinner and I had to carry the burden of intense conversation w daunt. Although, it really was more like a monologue on her part with appropriate (and exhausting) attention on my part.
Dh is leaving work right after lunch to entertain daunt. I will do my usual meal run and trip to see mom and a side trip to Costco.

Good morning.
I'll be off to work in a few minutes. It's another glorious sunny day here.
Hope everyone can spend some time outdoors today enjoying the natural world.

I'm glad to hear about your creative Sabbath-ing, Kathryn. That is healthy! WTG with eating and exercise too.
Glad your evening with daunt was OK, Twins. I understand that sort of nonstop talking. . . That can be exhausting. Glad you have this afternoon to do your regular things.
Also glad to hear Dee is doing well with weight and blood count. My goodness, we're all pushing forward to healthier habits here! WTG!
I'm just back from a jog with dh. Third day in a row. I think my body is OK with that. I was tired jogging this morning, felt energy-less by the end, but I did it. yesterday's jog ended up being very hot and sweaty. I have no idea how my weight is doing. I'm sure I gained over the weekend. I don't weigh daily.
I'm jealous of Harriet's dd16's school having AP Art courses. Our school does not. There is a Sr. portfolio class, and a student can submit a portfolio, etc. for the AP Art Exam from that course. Dd19 chose not to do that in the end, though.
Today is the last day of final exams for dd17 here. She was busy last night helping her friends with their math questions. They were texting her a lot. I hope she gave them good help! She took a study break and . . .. . wrote a recommendation letter for her AP English teacher, who has been a long-time sub in the class since December. Dd17 really likes her, and we like her too. I do hope the school hires her. The previous teacher had some legal issues. *sigh*

thank you d dee. She is busy with work and loves it. She is still having problems with her CRPS as it has moved to the other foot.. she goes day by day - some days are low pain others high - it is something she will have to live with but her positive attitude amazes me.
I think of you often and say lots of prayers and good wishes for you and your dearest family too! wishing you a wonderful day... sorry it started out with goofy people for dh
heading out for radiology talk with d uncle. Lots of good has happened after d brother, d mom as well as myself put things into perspective for him - wasn't pleasant but had to be done re: lying and using others and our boundaries. I don't condone what I said but I felt he had pushed the envelope to the point where we all felt like leaving him (but wouldn't of course in his time of need) ... Lots of change - He is more than pleasant, doesn't seem to lie and is making great efforts not to abuse his relationship w his kind neighbors. Now we wait for his results for next week.
ta ta .. have a lovely lovely day

The noise here is wearing me down. It will be quiet over lunch and then I hope to head out. In the meantime it has clouded over quite heavily and the wind has come up so I may not be long at the river!
Dh has some banking for me to do for him this afternoon so I'll probably take my bike and bike to the beach rather than walking down to the bench (about 5-6 minutes from here.) The bank is fairly close to the beach and then I can bike back to the second bank. I'll get my walking in when we go to dinner tonight.
My minister called right before 9 asking if we're home today because he has something to drop off for me (flowers as a thank you for teaching Sunday School last year.) I said yes and he said he'd be here in 30 minutes and could I meet him downstairs? I said yes (!) and raced to the shower. Got dressed and hair back into a bun since it was still wet and downstairs in lots of time. Also took a call about prep for the heart stress test I have next week. No chocolate or tea (even herbal or decaf) in the 24 hours prior!
I'm going to try and get to the dusting now. Not interested in doing it but it desperately needs to be done and if I use furniture polish, I can knock off a zone chore.
