WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'

Yep, have a lot of 'wannas' today, but I'll be happy to get any one of them done. I started by cleaning the kitchen counters. Check -one thing done. Meds taken -check 2 things done. s2s -check 3 things done. Can't claim the bed made as dh did that. I've eaten breakfast but having trouble with my coffee maker. I'll go back to that in a few.
Have texted a bit with dd. She's been up for some time and cleaned her living room, kitchen & mopped the kitchen. (DSONIL's take: "It'll only get dirty again". -exactly that's why we clean BEFORE it gets too dirty. But when she leaves to come back north he'll have another 2 months of it not being cleaned. Job security?
Today, hopefully, is the day......in about 5 1/2 hours or so. That is if T remains in 'custody'. Then and only then, dd will make her reservation to come back to NY state.
Off to put my feet up for a bit and then try to do "one more thing".

Praying that this will be the day for both Dee's family and T. Rock bottom looks different in every case, but we can hoping this is it for her.
I'm up.
Bedroom is tidied, kitchen is tidied. tea and chocolate being consumed. I also put the balcony right side up (lots had been blown around.) Will clean it later this morning.
The mods are slightly disappointed but not surprised. We had wanna that our latest member were actually be real (it was a live person who responded to my email asking why they wanted to join) but kept a close eye on the person and were disappointed. It won't stop me from thinking the best of someone until they prove otherwise but it is annoying.
But the experience is a chance to remind you that if you see a post that appears to be spam or questionable in any way, please contact a mod. And if you are in a rush, just click on the exclamation mark on the bottom of the post and that will alert us to check into the post.
My Parade of Daily Adventures:
Breakfast and s2s - 30 min
Proof read column one for MF (he's done whatever he wanted to with my edits.) 30 min
Damp mop kitchen floor 15 min
Clean balconies (vacuum or sweep, damp mop the tiles, clean the glass tables.) 40 min
Enter chits into Quicken 30 min
Clean bathrooms (optional) 15 min
Find a way to get some steps in since I only did 3500 yesterday 30 min
Clean out china cabinets and get the silver put away 45 min
That adds up to 4 hours. I have to leave here by 1 so I may not get it all done.

Good morning!
I'm hoping and praying for the best outcome for dd and family and dgd today, Dee.
Thank you for guarding our village, Kathryn and other mods. I can see how that would be disappointing. It speaks well of you that it is a disappointment.
How lovely that your 2 dds spent the evening together, blessed.
It looks like another beautiful day here today! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and it's not too hot!
I got up almost 2 hours ago but am having a slow morning, as I do most mornings nowadays.
I have: let the dogs out - and brought them in to shush their barking
, said good bye to dh, taken the chili out of the freezer, checked email, sent a couple emails, including an organizational email to small group, had tea, s2s-ed, and done most self-care.
Next:
- QT
- finish unloading dw and dish drainer
- start laundry if dd19 is finished in the laundry room
Later:
- errands: library, pick up glasses, others?
- 11:30 birthday lunch date with my dfriend B. We have a tradition of taking each other out to lunch on/near our birthdays. (Mine is Saturday.)
- jog
- laundry; there's lots now that dh is home after 8 days away. Hopefully, dd19 will be finished in there soon. ..
- yard work?
- phone calls: health care appts. to be made
- vacuum living room rug; Lily has been lolling about on it a lot lately. Despite running the Roomba daily, wine-colored Persian rug is slowly turning white. . .
- dinner: white (not from the cat) chicken chili, corn bread, roasted brussel sprouts
I'm enjoying my more low-key summer schedule! I'm really hopeful that I'll be rejuvenated and ready to jump back in to the moms group and more payroll this fall.

Took dh up to get his cart on the golf cart. Then took bags of rolls over to dgs10 for the ducks. Today is DS-R's 50th birthday so we want to do something special tonight. Thinking I'll go buy dinner at a nearby favorite hamburg 'joint'.

DGS has a lacrosse game in a town about 25 miles away at 7:45. Doubt I'll try to go but dh might.
I've been 'puttering' at cleaning out my closet. Part of it I can sit on the end of the bed. Found some things that may be useful for dd when she returns. Found 2 files of 2010 and 2011 tax returns. I'll take those to the storage area to take to FL and file there this fall. Everything out of here makes things that much more 'liveable'. Some things I'm setting aside for the annual garage sale here. Leftovers from there will go to G oodwill. See all the VOA stores are closing in our area -anywhere else? Think there's 11.
Well it's 10 o'clock -3 to 3 1/2 hours to go. Keeping on praying here.

Editing is done. And both columns were there so I know I won't have anything more to do with this. I had made a comment about talking about spirituality and then removed it. The final version has a section on spirituality. I like when our minds are in synch like that.
He thanked me for the amount of time I put into it (as he should, it was about 4 hours yesterday) but I really enjoy the task because it is practice at editing and it is always easier to edit another's work because you don't have as much invested in it emotionally. But the practice helps me be tougher on my own work as well.
Another plus is that MF and I have just had an in depth 'conversation' about the topics covered in the columns. It isn't the same as being in person, nor quite like sharing thoughts through letters but there is a give and take and sharing of views during the editing process since I often insert my own view point into my editing comments and/or question his views (quite often I literally write "Do you really mean this?!" and then get my answer when the next draft appears.) So it makes me feel like I've spent time with him even though I haven't seen him for 6 weeks now (and it will be at least another 3 before he has time to get together.)

I forgot to post this, so s2s and breakfast are done as well, although I have to change and do my hair before my business meeting today.
Have started a load of laundry and now have an email to send to the accountant.

Working fast here. My update:
Done! Breakfast and s2s - 30 min
Done! Proof read column one for MF (he's done whatever he wanted to with my edits.) 30 min
Done! Damp mop kitchen floor 15 min
Done! Clean balconies (vacuum or sweep, damp mop the tiles, clean the glass tables.) 40 min
Enter chits into Quicken 30 min
Done! Clean bathrooms (optional) 15 min
Find a way to get some steps in since I only did 3500 yesterday 30 min
Clean out china cabinets and get the silver put away 45 min
China cabinet is next but I think I'll just put the silver away and clean another day. Working fast on that project can lead to tears if I break something!

I might be a 'happy camper' literally. DDIL#2 said she now has in her custody, the dishes my Dad gave me the Christmas before dh and I were married. Thought they were long gone -didn't really 'miss' them but they might be nice here for nostalgia. They're service for 4 of Corning dishes. AND she may quite well be interested in taking the Pfaltzgraff Village pattern dishes I have here. That would be awesome. I figured they had gone a very long time ago. Dh and DD found them in the attic at old house on Monday. Think I may have offered them to DS-A & his first wife, but they may have been when she was getting ready to leave, no doubt.
Just got a text -will post in J&C.

Good morning everyone! It was a later morning for me, because I drove to work today rather than taking the train. I have a gastro appointment in my town, and the train schedule will not work for that. I may be driving in tomorrow, if we have the animal org meeting with the mayor and other city reps. This may not come about, as the most important city rep may not be able to make it due to a death in the family. Friday, I will be driving in so I can get to this week's zoo music at a better time than last week. Unfortunately, that means I will miss a dinner with some church friends, but there are enough people going to that, that my presence is not critical.
Last night, DD13 and I ate Chinese, she met the newest foster, and we watched an episode of Scooby Doo that I had completely forgotten. After she left, I packed a dance bag, caught up on emails, made progress on summer vacation reservations, and pilled a cat. Tasks that did not get done and must carryover are: train reimbursement, order glasses (getting critical), and Stratton bio.
Today's plan: Leave work at 1:45, gastro appointment, brief trip home during which I hope to get glasses ordered, dance class. After the class, I need to do the usual nightly tasks, pill the cat, put a lawn chair in my car, and take the trash out. Other things that would be good to accomplish would be vacation reservation tasks.
My Wednesday wanna is the dance class. I have been wanting to get back into it for a while. The kick in the pants happened at the Solstice party, where the hostess had hired dancers. I'm not a dancer for hire, but I like performing in recitals and free shows. I am considering this as my anti-procrastination day task. And yes, Harriet, I did make all but one of my costumes.

YGG, Elizabeth. I wish every day was anti-procrastination day here. Hmmmm....If I could only tackle one, just one, of those tasks at a time, I soon would have NO procrastination.

Guess that's what I'm doing with my closet today. Very short segments of time at a time and it will be done. One problem I have is only being able to use my right arm to reach clothes on the bar and I have to stretch to even do that. The rod is quite high and we can't really change it. I have a small bookcase in there and I may see if there things on it I can either store in the storage area or maybe give away or toss (what a concept!)
