We have sunshine this morning, nice weather and it will turn shortly into rain...so I am going to carry the sunshine through my day.

I am just holding summer close to my heart and enjoying the season -

Friday night d family (all but one sister (in law - I do dislike having to add that in law to family) we went to see Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett... It was a truly magical and extremely rainy night. My dd's were there too and lots of the d kids came and we all sat on the lawn seats. My d bil sat there from early morning to get us a spot. What a great guy. Lovely

I am not sure what will happen today ... I do have to pick up a rental van 45 minutes away to drive our rod iron antique fencing to a dear friend one hour the opposite way. I am so looking forward to seeing them.

P slept poorly & tried 2 or 3 times to go back into the bed but dh was sprawled onto my side with his knee over the covers. Finally did get back in toward morning. Think I was vaguely aware when he got up. But he touched me later as he was worried about me. Thought it was 'bout 8. 10AM!! He got up much later than usual.

Rest of family is going to a Major League Lacrosse game in just a bit. Going to be rainy & chilly. They're all dressing to the hilt. DGS10 is ball boy so they (at least the parents) have to go. Me? I'm staying home where it's somewhat warm and dry. Dh and I may make a grocery run later. I went to W M yesterday but it really did me in and I was crying by the time I got the cart returned and into my car. I'll be glad to be back to normal. Just my turn for all this I guess.

The Pub & Café opened on grounds last night. Guess they had a really good night for the opening. There's a lot of rules now in place (laws really) as to alcoholic beverages. People used to be able to bring all their own beverages to concerts in the rec hall but they can't do that any more if the Pub is open. So now they have to have security on duty for that as there also can't be any drinking outside. People are used to doing that -wouldn't make a whit of difference to me.

Happy Belated Birthday to Helia!!!

My day is off to a good start. The first 4 hours have been mostly spent doing the tasks assigned to each of the hours.

We are not going to attend church this morning. Very rare for us. DH slept late and I didn't wake him.

Our bank is switching names this weekend so the online access is not available. At noon yesterday the old bank closed and the new bank opens tomorrow. The owners are consolidating all their banks underneath one name. Our bank has been working on this for several weeks, but It has still been a hassle on our part getting things changed.
** We have 4 bank cards that had to be replaced. We have received 2 of them but we can't active the new cards until tomorrow.
** The daily gross deposit slips have changed so I threw the remaining 2 pads away this morning. They bank issued us new deposit slips to start using tomorrow.
** Checks - They will honor the checks we have on hand for a year, so we don't have to order new/replacement checks right this minute.
** We have 6 bank bags that we use to make cash deposits. They replaced those bank bags with new bags that have the new name. The old bags will be used to transport gross between MPB and home.
** The GOOD part of this name switch is it made the bank and us get our act together on some pending actions. The bank carried a note a couple months when we purchased the birthday home, but we didn't have paperwork from the bank showing we paid that note. I went to the bank last week and got the paperwork officially showing PAID. The bank has a large loan on MPB that wasn't secure. It was just loaned on our signature. The bank added some real estate to the loan making it secure (took them 8 months to prepare the paperwork). DH and I stopped by the bank and signed that paperwork last week. ANYway - lots of actions & updates required for our bank to make a *simple* name change.

Quiet weekend here. We had rain off and on yesterday - dh and ds discussed going here or there but never got up and got out. I finally made a decision late afternoon that we would at least go out to eat together at 5 p.m. so that was our trip out for the day. Today is gorgeous - high to be in low 80s and beautiful. Dh said he may go to the pool later, and he plans to mow the yard.

I'd like to work on genealogy and go upstairs and stamp.

Yes, it is a summery Sunday! We awakened to a summer thundershower at 8 am this morning. It is now partly cloudy and 81*.

We didn't do a whole lot on Friday except emptying our suitcases and putting most of the clean clothes away. Saturday I felt more energy and did my weekly cleaning: mopping, sweeping and dusting. Called ds-C and he said he and his dfam would be down to see us. Dh prepared chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies for supper. It was nice to be with them again.

Ds-J came this morning about 11 am to mow the front yard and trim sidewalk and driveway. Didn't want to do the back today, which is twice the size of the front yard, because it is still wet from rain. That can wait till next week. While he was working I got lunch meat and cheese out for sandwiches, so he ate a quick lunch with us before leaving for home to do his own yard. He had already been to ddil's daunt's house to do her lawn before coming to us! They won't be back today for dinner because dgd13 is with a dfriend's family on their boat for the afternoon and ddil will pick her up around 5 pm. We sent him home with a plate of 7-layer bars and chocolate chip cookies!

So this afternoon is my own; I think I will putter this afternoon with small things: download vacation pictures from camera and phone to computer, update my prayer journal, delete junk emails and maybe get my sewing area ready to work again.

I went to check out a new fruit stand but it was not open five mi. Down river was a nice drive. Stopped by the orchard 1.5 mi. From our house and got fruit for us and a 3 gal. Bucket of it for yhe hens too. Cots are on. I have been processing fruit this a.m.

Journal & qt done. Watering focus today. Time for lunch. It is going to be a hot week here.

waving to all of you too!!! I rented a van and brought over the antique fencing to a lovely couple. It looks beautiful at their house! I am feeling very blessed to know them. So I am finally home and will do my BWP and Kitchen menu. I will also walk and then dd older and I are going to dinner early. dd younger is off 420 sailing with a dear friend.

Home from church. Ready for a nap. (I only attended this morning so shouldn't need a nap!)

We helped out by washing up all the dishes from coffee hour and left church around 12:50. Then stopped at the general store for the mail and had a long chat with the post mistress who we haven't seen since she was in the hospital months ago. Left there at 1:45 and I was starting to get weak from hunger since I only had two cookies at coffee hour. Dropped off stuff at senior friend's house (she said I looked angry and I said it was low blood sugar and then she wanted to give me all kinds of carbs but I had to refuse.) From there I broke down and had chili and a bun at Tim Horton's. The chili is surprisingly low carb friendly but the bun wasn't. There was no way I could eat one without the other, though because I was so over-hungry.

I guess that proves I need to always head out with snacks. Today, because I wasn't going on to second services, I hadn't anticipated a problem. And I was so far 'gone' on the hunger thing, that going to a proper restaurant where I could have had a salad and tossed away the bun from a chicken burger was not an option because I needed fast food, not sit-down 30-minutes-until-I-eat service. Tim's was the closest fast food place.

Now I'm home. Still hungry, will add some veggies to my day and some leftover chicken. It is grilled pork tenderloin & veggies skewers tonight for dinner so there's more protein with minimal carbs. I'm out of calories for the day now so will just have to be over or get on the treadmill for a few miles (it is too miserable to go for a bike ride or walk.)

We found dh's baseball glove and rearranged some of the storage cupboard while we were at it. I realized I have linens in clear bins and I need clear bins for our car trip this summer so that will work out. The clothes are going into zip-lock bags, each bag an outfit and we'll carry one small suitcase with our toiletry kits and pjs plus a zip lock bag with our change of clothes for the next day. In the morning we'll toss the dirty clothes into a laundry bag in the car. That way we aren't hauling suitcases in and out each day since we have so many single night stops.

I'm not sure the new cooler will work. It claims to be 45 quart and my existing one is 48 quarts. But the interiors work out to be 2541 cubic inches for the 48 quart and 1843 cubic inches for the 45 quart. So it isn't 6% smaller but 37% smaller. That's too big a difference for us since on long trips the 48 quart one is full, plus we have a cooler bag for the day's snacks and cold drinks. Something is wrong in the measurements they use to calculate. Even if you use the exterior measurements (so the wheels aren't affecting the capacity) it still works out to be 255 to 310, which, again, is more than 6%.

I hate when a purchase doesn't work out. On the other hand, this is why I buy from WM - easy returns! Since what I need is wheels, it might work better to by a folding cart to put the cooler on. We had a poor one with us last year that didn't work well but the new cooler was $40 and I'm sure I can find a folding set of wheels for that price.

Very good to see that 'they' got escapee number 2. See there's not much else right now other than they shot and took him into custody near the Canadian border. Know a lot of people will rest a little easier now and glad for them.
