Good Monday! We're home from the last trip for a while, I hope!

It's time to get it together for the week!

We got in around seven last night - flew to/from Providence R I and took shuttle to/from home city to ATL airport. Even better, we were able to get on an earlier shuttle in ATL instead of waiting another hour for our scheduled one. We had time to pick up sandwiches and get luggage and then mozied out and the earlier shuttle was still there and had room for us. And wasn't full, which was nice.

It was a beautiful wedding - ended up cold and windy outside but wedding was outside and rest of festivities inside. We had a good time seeing dd and every one got along well enough for the weekend. We didn't see much of ds, but then he hung out with the groom and groomsmen and had wedding prep and all. And we can see him at home too.

We did a little sightseeing - saw some of the Newport mansions and took a walk on their very different beach. Ate a lot of good New England foods and also had lunch with some dfriends who moved from home to Providence at the beginning of the pandemic. We figured out that we have known then more than twenty-five years, since our kids were in preschool together.

Today PODA:
-unpack
-laundry
-get groceries
-get my head around genealogy again

Dh emptied our suitcases this a.m. because he needed the smaller of the two to go to Nash-vegas overnight. So he will drive there after work today and be home tomorrow evening. I don't think I could face another trip if I were him, but he didn't seem fazed.

Twins - Welcome Home! Thanks for the start today.

(((Cathy))) - How is your surgery recovery going?

I can't get over how quiet our home is without DS13. I don't know how to describe it. He has such zest for everything that he fills the space. He is constantly doing and talking.

I have been doing a bit of nutritional class studying this morning. More like chasing a subject down a rabbit hole. My nutritional analysis shows that I need to increase my Omega3 intake. I am trying to decide the best way and the easiest way so I will continue long term. I think I have selected the best choice (flaxseed) for me. I have ordered that and will monitor the change it makes in next week's nutritional analysis.

Today we have 2 medical appointments - DD11 goes to therapist. DMIL goes to chiropractor (DH will take her).

DD11 and I will leave around 10:30 for her 3D class. After she gets out of class then I'll take her to therapist appt a few miles away.
Challenge for me .....what to do with myself while waiting 4 hours in the city?

thank you dear twins for starting us as we get it together! The wedding sounded beautiful. I am glad the festivities were inside. I am so glad you had fun!!!

good morning d lady! What activities does your city hold? how are the libraries? is there a museum? I hope you have a lovely day!!!! I hope you find some fun things to do in your city.

I had to go to downtown Chicago for over a month for dd younger and her all day pain therapy. (a hour to 2 hours to drive depending on traffic). We got there at 8. and left at 4 - the first day was so hard but then I figured I could use the time for learning, bills, adventure, crafts, art, etc. I spent time at the museums and as much free stuff as possible. I spent some whole days at the library and choosing a course of study and seeing how I could add that to my home life or just for fun. I even took time to learn the parts of a boat and the motor. I grew u sailing but didn't have a boat to go to anymore but it is one of the things I always wanted to learn. I took the lake taxi across to one of the museums. (just for fun). I was stuck downtown and I thought I might as well take advantage of all the history, architecture, the art and music -lakes etc. that my city (Chicago) held. I also called friends and family - did some family history and took walks through the botanic areas. My area also had neighborhoods nearby that had quilt shops or activities where people worked together for crafts. knitting for one. (a group gathering).

yesterday I ended up with a headache - sunny days with rain the next day seem to be the reasons for my recent headaches. Sure enough today we are having an all day rain. I don't mind that at all.

The rain has changed my plans a bit.

I am hoping to clean house today (fingers crossed) and plan for packing tomorrow. I am hoping to go gym shoe and shoe shopping tomorrow. (maybe a nice outfit).
I will give dh my check for the cc to the bank (if he is feeling well).

Today we get his blood test results

It's a new day - I don't feel so guilty about sleeping yesterday afternoon as I have been working hard. I don't like it; but it's okay. That day is done and today is a new beginning.

d Lucy. I was thinking about you yesterday and this morning. I went to a therapist to help me deal with the past and things I did and didn't do - it was a blessing to me. I think your kind, caring heart and high expectations for yourself can make you forget what You HAVE done. I think we are all like that. We can do what we can do. I would happily go back to family and friends, change somethings or not take the mis steps that I did; but, I found that staying in the past, that regret/or wish does nothing for where I am now with the people I love or myself. Give yourself grace! (Kat of a Better life with Kat told me that).

You are a blessing d Lucy! I want you to remember that!

I can't understand what I'm doing wrong with my email, but every day I have to re-submit, get a code on cell phone, take it to email and only then can I access anything more recent than the day before. HRH is pondering it. I did a restart of computer this morning before resubmitting hoping that will handle it.

Today I had scheduled a time for grocery pickup in the a.m., then somehow lost it and had to take 1-to-2 pm instead, not far from the hottest part of the day. Sigh. I have the car parked in the shade in preparation.

Had the presence of mind to call dd42 and ask what to add to the order for her, since I had unexpected extra time.
Green cupcake icing! (she wants to make Minecraft cupcakes, lol)

Twins' Mom, so glad you had a safe trip.

May headaches be vanquished from the village! Yuck.

Museum enjoyment was also good for me when I used to take dd to the art committee meetings in big city. I was surprised that I could take some notes and use them in teaching the study I was always preparing for at that time. I found that there would be a comfortable seat for glancing at phone, writing. Often it would have a view of some vista of art or architecture. I do remember if I became self-conscious or bored if I stayed too long in one seating area, I could move to another level and feel brand new.

Good morning! I think the weekend has caught up with me. I had breakfast sitting in the comfy chair and started to doze off thereafter. DD has just turned on the fan to get some fresh air into the room; maybe it will help.

I need to do some payroll today, or the expert will have nothing to work on while I am gone except writing new stuff for me to work on, and he will be ahead, and I will be behind.

DH was not aware that I actually had canceled the order for the refrigerator that won’t fit and did a good bit of rearranging stuff. Once I was downstairs this morning, the kids said, “We’v got to clear off the back stairs,” and I was like, “Why?” What would be the point of having them deliver a refrigerator that would not fit into the door?

I’m glad you enjoyed the wedding, Twins! Newport is beautiful, isn’t it? I went there for a conference many years ago, and I remember the city better than I remember the conference.

I did not know that flaxseed was good for Omega 3, LadyM. I have some around from a recipe; I will have to use it more.

Where are you packing for, blessed? I hope your DH’s blood work gives some answers.

I hope your email is cleared up soon, Harriet.

Off to my work computer now!

Dear kind and virtuous* maiden (lady Harriet) thank you for vanquishing the headaches from our land!

*"Virtues" are attitudes, dispositions, or character traits that enable us to be and to act in ways that develop this potential. They enable us to pursue the ideals we have adopted. Honesty, courage, compassion, generosity, fidelity, integrity, fairness, self-control, and prudence are all examples of virtues. *all represent our dear lady Harriet! self control and prudence of course as well.

waving to all the dear ladies of virtue that reside in our good queendom - I have to start but I will (fingers crossed) come back and say hi individually!

OTOH, I may do nothing at all today. I did s2s and made myself breakfast but have been sitting here since. I didn't sleep well - it seemed that the fitting between CPAP mask and hose was loose and there was air escaping. And I actually fell in the airport yesterday in ATL. I cut a corner too closely and tripped on luggage that was trailed behind someone. I have a big bruise on my hip and small on my elbow, but rolling over on that hip overnight didn't feel good. Dh was way ahead of me going to baggage claim and didn't realize I wasn't behind him so he wasn't even around.

I ordered groceries for delivery. So that's one thing squared away.
