Footprints erasing Friday

Post by Harriet »

"Footprints" erasing can be fun. Take a look 'round your home and find the little things that can be put to rights. It's okay if there are 999 little things. :) We've all been there.
Pick it up, don't pass it up, and then... put it away! - P and P
:) :)

Ramblin' coined the term footprints, I think, for all the little out-of-place things in a home.

My favorite way is to wear a "wrist corsage" (small plastic garbage bag) so both hands are free, to go around the house for any trash first. Then start thinking of things that need to travel to their places.

Good Morning!

I usually PUPA constantly as I walk through the house. I scan the room as I walk through it and grab anything that doesn't belong. However, this week without DS13 has shown that he is the source for 95% of the items left lying around. He is the biggest mess maker! This week there haven't been things to PUPA because he isn't here. Hummm....DS13 returns later today. I will give him 24 hours to get his stuff unpacked and put away then I am going to implement the time-out basket. I am going to get a basket to collect all the things left lying around. Instead of me PUPA those items will be in time-out for 24 hours or so.

Wait....change of plans. I won't start the time-out basket until Monday (putting it on calendar so I don't forget). This weekend will have more stuff out of place than normal. I have one kid coming home from camp with piles of dirty clothes and stuff. I have another kid packing for a camp to leave on Sunday. I will be utilizing the living room to collect & organize DD11 clothes and things before packing for her.

Honestly the only "messy" room is the kitchen. Not a lot of footprints, really.

I went and treated myself to a mani/pedi this morning. From now on I will make an appointment. They were so busy.

Dh wants to take us out for supper tonight. I can have mashed potatoes. I might even get gravy to go on them. He really wants fish and chips.

Doing okay today still symptom free releasing self from quarentine.

Did a rain walk with ddog bc I missed my stretching show it is good to change it up now and then.
Ddog has forgiven me for the flea & tick meds I put on her yesterday.
Chatted with a neighbor a bit too.
I might consider a better vacuum for the basement.

Looking in, I don't think I even came by here yesterday. I'm confined to my upstairs room but haven't felt much like doing anything. I started a book day before yesterday and finished it last night - was interesting - about the three daughters of the English Viceroy Lord Curzon.

Dd's PCR test was negative - I'm not sure why he doesn't go on to work except he thinks he's "taking care of me." I guess he doesn't want my germs downstairs so he's bringing me what I need and we're using the bathroom counter as a drop off area.

Dd also has COVID and got the antiviral meds yesterday. She's heavy so I'm glad she got it.

LadyM, I saw your question (was it Wed?) and I think I got COVID from friends at the wedding. They were sick and tested positive on Monday a.m. I wore a mask on the shuttle to airport (two hrs away) and on the plane, but did not wear one at the wedding.

I might be a little better today than yesterday. No fever today (crossing my fingers.)

Had a big big boomer again in the early morning so I’m in recovery mode.

LadyM … I enjoyed you dd video but was wondering perhaps the her counselor might like to see it. Two things struck me.. the title and the facial expression on the girls face at the end of the video. However I was really impressed with the animation. I bet your dd really loved making it and is proud of what she accomplished

It’s a slow day for me. Didn’t make my bed, but am doing laundry. Plan to do some reading for the rest of the day if my mind can handle it.

Harriet… it was really Sweetie who came up with the term “footprints”. He used it to show me how he could tell where I had spent time because I would leave things behind like a glass or paper. Really opened my eyes and since then I never leave anything behind.

Funny story… new neighbor came over yesterday to swap phone numbers with Sweetie. They both have the same first name and when Sweetie asked our neighbor what his last name was I started to to laugh. Our neighbors last name is the same as Sweeties middle name. Sweeties name is Sweetie Joe smith and our neighbors name is Sweetie Joe!

Been to the airport to pick up DD, then on to grocery shop. Have most of my groceries put away. Just finished lunch and leaving shortly for my Dr's appointment (at 1:45). Wish me luck. Not sure what she'll say about my A1C -know it'll be low by her standards. We'll see.

Having dinner with friends at the Pub tonight (5pm) with friends. DD decided she wants to wait for DS-R and DDIL.

RR - Good idea! Thanks

DMIL new health care team is meeting this morning at her home. DH is there with them. I hope DMIL response well to them. She typically has a sweet personality except toward DH sister.

Weekly team cleaning happened this morning. I'm always glad to have that done.

I fixed myself a BGS for lunch. It seems every day I decide to add a new ingredient to it. There are 15 different things in today's salad.

I am trying to make a good decision and not react with my emotions. DS13 is pushing my buttons and not in a good way. He texts last night after 11pm and didn't get a response (I was asleep) so he called and woke me up to ask if I would change my mind about him having access to Snapchat app on his phone. I have blocked his access to several apps because DS13 crossed the line by using these in the wrong way a week or so ago. Anyway, after waking me up to ask this question which he already knew the answer to, DS13 hung up on me when I said no. ARgh!

It is now over 12 hours later and I'm still fuming. DS13 REALLY should NOT have hung up on me. I am ready to cancel his trip next weekend. This would be a simpler decision to make, but it also affects DGS15.

That instruction manual MUST be somewhere, Lady M -well, maybe not......

Just came back from the Dr's. All was good. As I thought -she thought my 5.9 A1C was a little low so has once again lowered my Glipizide. I was taking 10mg morning and dinner time till last June when she took away the 10 at night. Last October she lowered my morning dose to 5mg and now she's lowered it again to 2.5mg in the morning. I imagine as I lose weight and keep exercising it helps lower that # as well. Go back to see her October 14th. Meantime I have to get my DEXXA Scan in a week or 2. She ordered that and also sent my lab requisition to the lab associated with that group. It'll be further for me but I can combine it with a trip to the grocery store which is right across the street. Said my thyroid T4 was good. MY TSH was a bit high but she took it all as normal for me right now. Kidney function was great and I think I had been worried about that. Cholesterol was good and triglycerides (though I think those are a bit high in my estimation). It was 173. My weight WOOHOO! was 154. Think I was 168 there in the Fall. It's not easy to lose right now it seems so I'm happy with anything. BP was high -always is there for whatever reason. Dr took it again and it had come down 30 some points. Said she was going to tell her nurse that she makes me nervous. Something! ;) And when I go to the cardiologist it's always good. Go figure.

Strange getting used to having no puppy here any more -but it's a nice getting used to.

Dsonil saw a back specialist/neuro surgeon Wednesday. Dr told him the problem with his back wouldn't be helped with surgery and it's arthritis. Put him on a medication and he says he already is feeling a difference.

Going to suggest to Dh that perhaps he might want to go to FL to see his DB when DS-R goes. Know it's really beginning to weigh heavily on dh. And DBIL is at that stage, as he told dh yesterday, he has noone there now. DD felt bad because she didn't get over to see him while she was down there this week. She did ask dsonil to take a ride over sometime to see him. I doubt that he will but I could be surprised. Know DS-R had said he thought he'd fly down to spend a couple of days later this month.
