SHORT & SWEET SUNDAY

Think today my visit will be short and sweet. How about yours. Our trip to church is absolutely 'short & sweet' -NOT. I have a migraine going and I just want to let that go.

Had my dishes all done last night and was putting them away. There was still water in the 'rinse' pan and I had run more in it last night. That 'clean' water we use to water our plants (and that water I run till the water gets hot -no sense putting that into the septic tank at $.20/gal). Well I moved one thing & my whole container of flatware fell into it -so now it's awaiting the next wash. Oh well.

DS-R just stopped by to get something from dh's tool shed. Dh has dumped our tanks and we're about to eat breakfast. Well, I do have to s2s first and take my morning meds. Took my Thyroid med around 7:15.

I did stay up to watch the 6th game of round 2 of the hockey (Stanley Cup) playoffs last night. Tampa won the series last night. So Wednesday it's on to Colorado Avalanche -the final series (best of 7).

Dd flew back to FL last week to work her 'fun job'. She had told her super that she'd be willing to do the same again next week IF the team they work for made the finals. But, he told her she has more than done her part. So now she can stay home and watch on TV.

Very breezy out again today. Have to study those AC units for in here, Lady M. Know our dneighbor bought one to use last year. Have to ask her how it's working in the RV -if they've remembered to even try it out here. Of course right now it's not warm/hot enough to test out anyway.

Lucylee, I'm sorry I looked. The other day gas here was ONLY like $4.65. Now it's like $5.69/gal at our favorite "DEAL" station. But there's not much we can do about it as dh says -we need it! And last week NY State and our county removed their taxes on gasoline -so much for "lower" prices. But I can see we would now be over $6/gallon if they hadn't taken those taxes away. This is supposed to last from June 1st to the end of the year I think. So hopefully it'll balance out later. We can hope, right?

Happy for dd's team's good season, Dee. I sort of hope she does have to decide whether to return! (yay, team) But in another way I'd like to see her have a calmer vacation without much rushing around!

Reminds me I wanted to tell: The Pirates Won the Pennant! (our green-eyed boy11's baseball team. There is no "pennant" - I'm just showing my outdated ignorance, lol.) They did all wear "gold" medals around their necks in the team photo, though, all pretending to bite them to prove they were "real", lol. Our dgs was right in the middle with what appeared to be a different uniform, but it was because he was the catcher for the final game and still had on the protective gear. He was beyond happy.

That photo is such a "keeper". Just the picture of normal kids doing normal stuff with childhood friends, all grinning, arms draped over each other's shoulders, and seemingly without a care in the world. I teared up a little, so grateful for whichever adult had the presence of mind to get that spur-of-the-moment shot before anybody said, "now stand up straight" or remembered it's 2022, life is tough, and they'd better get back into masks.

Tell your grandson how proud we are of his team. Congratulations to them, Harriet.

Funny you should say, Harriet. Just got off the phone with DD. She found round trip tickets for $115 and texted her super that and said she's willing to come back to work the finals if he 'needs' her. Think she really wants to go. She really wanted to know if we'd watch DBiscuit for another week. Her trip would be next Friday, the 17th to Friday the 24th. Think she'd really like to work it. It's certainly not the pay as most of that would be eaten up with travel. Though she does get paid well each game. Think it's like $120 per game plus any overtime.

Still haven't managed to get my meds done or eaten breakfast. So on to all that! Actually I still have to put on my shoes/socks. We had decided last night we weren't going to church this morning. I'm glad with this migraine.

DD11 is packed and ready to go to camp! She didn't sleep much last night due to her excitement.

Daily Routines #2 & #3 are completed. The other ones are in progress.

Our church family had a bit of excitement this morning. Twin Moms discovered they were pregnant almost at the same time. One twin mom had her baby last week, and the other twin mom delivered early this morning. These are babies that will soon be in our church nursery. I absolutely love holding and snuggling babies.

Gas prices here are zooming upward. Our price has increased by .50 a gallon in the last 2 weeks. Although I think we are a bit behind the national average price. Our state has removed all their gas tax to lower the price. Looking at the last few times I have put gas in SUV....
$4.37 gallon on June 11
$4.23 gallon on June 7
$3.87 gallon on May 31

Thanks for starting us out, Dee. I'm still upstairs but heading downstairs now and then. I shouldn't be contagious any more but you never know. If dh got sick after all this it wouldn't be pretty.

At least he's going back to work tomorrow.

CI bs is up in ack land. Skipping bfast & church after c-19 exposure last week decided I needed to take a break from in person church.
No Bible study or zoom class this week forgot that was cancelled leader had been traveling.

I woke in the night from dreams that make me think.

I am boiling eggs for later egg salad sand. sounds good.
journaling & planning done. x

Got one of the foam blocks the stretching exercise gal recommended it is helping my lower back yea!

No rain here today just fog. Heat to run the head last 2 days.

Hi y’all…

I’ve been doing a lot of thises and thats around my home for the last few days. Finally got my office finished. We were able to start the grill so I let it heat up and the sprayed it with easy off.

Work in my MBR closet and reorganized it. We had rain and thunder off and on yesterday. Storm was close and Sweetie said he’s never hear thunder that loud… I giggled and said welcome to Fl. We’ve probably had more rain in the last week that what we get in three years in AZ

Need to do a small grocery run in a moment and then I think I’ll do some reading. Watched Under the Banner of Heaven on Hulu which was about a true LSD murder many years ago. There was much history about Mormons… some of which I knew and much I didn’t. It was written by an ex-Morman. It was interesting because living in Mesa I have many Mormon friends. The move was based on a book by the same name which goes into much more detail about Joseph Smith the father of the Mormon movement and how the church was formed.

Then yesterday I discovered a new series on Netflix called Keep Sweet. It’s all abt the fundamentists LDS group who believe in polygamy. That was also addressed in the book, but I enjoyed the show because all the towns and its leader Warren Jeffs were shown. Now as I read the book I can better visualized every thing much clearer.9

RR, I read the book quite a while ago, perhaps close to when it was published. It was an interesting read.

I'm downstairs piddling, doing some pick up put away. Wearing a mask part of the time. Dh is going to a funeral today - wish I could go. Elderly friend in the congregation, he was ninety-two, smart, witty. A little more than two years ago he did a Catskills stand up comedian schtick at a temple entertainment. He actually sat on a stool, but you get the gist. Anyway, I'll watch online. Service at temple, then to cemetery, then meal of consolation at temple. Dh will come home after cemetery I think.

I watered outside plants and checked my tomatoes and I had a ripe cherry tomato! I ate it straight from the vine.

I'm glad to be out of "solitary."

My visit better be short and sweet! Good gracious -- it's moving towards 2:00 pm and I have not even s2s!!!
We skipped church so as not to alarm anyone with Covid fears, and my Sunday "schedule" is completely off now. It's like I don't even know how to function if I don't get up at the right time and go to church.

We've eaten and read one of the two Sunday papers we get.
After I s2s, I've got to
* go to wmart
* change sheets
* wash dishes, s/s kitchen
* write check for newspaper man
* do allergy shots
* water plant (LOL -- I only have one left surviving inside the house)

I am so full of high hopes to GMAT this week, after sooo long -- nearly two months -- of feeling sick myself, dealing with dh & other family members being sick, loss of dfriend, basically loss of my good sense, just sooo much has had me "off" for waaay too long.
I've got to do better.
I printed out Fl*lady's Sneak Peek of the Week and I will try to follow that to get back on track, because she really does have (usually) short little tasks that will at least make me move and do SOMETHING -- and we all know one thing can often lead to more things.
I also desperately need to do a real WHB, because bathrooms and vacuuming floors and dusting have been long forgotten in the chaos of the last couple months.
DH says we must do towel laundry tomorrow.
So -- I'll be looking for you ladies to cheer me on!

And congrats to dd's team, Dee! We'll be watching, I'm sure. (As long as it doesn't conflict with college baseball. One more win and AU is in the college world series, so that takes priority here tonight and possibly tomorrow.)

Nancy, I must say I am almost envious of your dreams (I think!) I have had dreams that really seem to be telling me something, and I am severely in need of some guidance lately, but my dreams... NOTHING. Ha! Last night I was cleaning my paternal grandmother's kitchen. Maybe that WAS telling me something OTOH... Quit thinking about philosophical questions and start cleaning my own kitchen??? LOL...
