Simultaneously, on Saturday

Saturday is a day when seriousness (or slogging) of the weekday workday work-a-day starts bumping up against rest and relaxation!
We might just dabble in both chores and fun simultaneously
leading a Parade of Daily Adventures full of variety.
What are you simultaneously up to today?

HRH is out on a walk and will spend time with dstepson, who is "batching it" (bachelor for a few days) while dstepdil is away caring for her mother.
I have mail for the box now after doing some Desk Day chores.
Enjoyed making a big smoothie with lots of good ingredients. Some of fruit we've recently bought seems to have gone out of date awfully early, hmmm ... .. too bad. When we make an order, we can't be there ourselves to suspiciously examine, lol.
I have a plan for cooking a favorite meal of mine later, which should put some happy leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow, too.
Yesterday we had some company from HRH's side of the family and I spent time "playing school" with little kid, teaching how to make that crayon go where you tell it to (finger placement on triangularly shaped crayons), and ended up with a fridge-front full of art! Funny - I offered to print name at the bottom corner of artwork but we had to wait on each letter, back and forth, while Mama, in the next room, was asked, "is there a 'J' in my name? Is there an 'A' in my name", etc. I guess I just didn't seem competent! Mama was baffled because she thought she had been heard at previous teaching times - nope!

Today promises to be another full day of doings of all sorts. Simultaneously? Well...mostly that's going to mean doing my regular stuff and working on keeping this flippin' dog out of trouble! Have I mentioned our new dog? She's not really ours. We took her off my daughter, as she was too much for them to handle, and they know less than not very much about training a dog. Hence, we became the temporary carers of a nine month old shepherd/doberman cross whose favourite activities include harassing one of our smaller dogs into playing with her, and chewing on things. So far, we've caught her with stuffed animals (ok except for the special ones which are out of her reach, since she does have some stuffed toys), blankets, socks, gloves, cover lids for cans of food, a piece of the baseboard she managed to get loose, electrical cords, sticks.....you get the picture I'm sure! Mostly this behaviour is because she's young, very high energy, and gets bored easily. We're looking for a new home for her, because she doesn't fit in well with our family - older people, older pets.
It also looks to be a lovely day outside, so I'm going to be going over to Mum's to do more weeding and pruning. Hopefully, there will also be some weeding in the flower beds in the front yard here. Since it's 7am, I should probably get started. First up:
- morning dailies
- dishes
- 15 minutes sorting and filing in the back bedroom
- breakfast & meds
- refresh Sc*ntsy warmers
Off I go! Cross your fingers I don't get tooooo distracted!

It's LEON Day!! (Noel spelled backwards.) 6 months until you-know-what!
We have already gone for groceries in the Falls and they are now put away.
I had the washing machine going on bed sheets while we were gone and now they are in the dryer and should be out soon. Dh waters the garden before 7 a.m. every day, so everything is done. We've both had something to eat.
No idea what's for supper.
Dryer is singing it's song...

I failed to wish Mr. & Mrs. Timid a Happy Anniversary on June 23rd. Consider this as heartfelt, though late!
Dh has gone to take our trash to the dumpster and then is going over to DD's. She's finishing putting her gazebo together today and has been cooking a big pork roast in her smoker since last evening. Has to cook about 18 hours according to the times. We're having dinner at her camper tonight. DS-R cooked steaks at his last night. I took a hot dog to cook for me as I still am not up to doing a good deal of chewing. And here we are almost 7 months post fall. Oh well....all is well. DS-R and DD worked 10 hours yesterday in the sun on his new gazebo. It's still not quite done. When it is he'll enlist neighbors/friends to help walk it over and onto their deck. Both gazebos are really nice -dd's is just much simpler.
DS-A, DDIL & DGS9 were over at DS-R's for a campfire last night. They all tested negative for Covid so they thought they were okay to be out and about. They're leaving soon (If they haven't already) for a race track in PA. Then they'll be camping somewhere else in PA from tomorrow on. DS said they had some trips already planned for the summer but will curtail them by a lot with gas prices. DGS will turn 10 on July 10th and then he can compete locally. There's just not the competition I guess.
See DD's home team won the 5th game in Denver last night. Means they'll be back in Tampa tomorrow for game 6. (Hockey/Stanley Cup).
It's LEON Day!! (Noel spelled backwards.) 6 months until you-know-what!
I absolutely love this, Cathy!

How are you doing with your mouth btw?

Good Morning!
Harriet = Thanks for the start.
I'm happy to see SHE ci and sharing of thoughts and doings.
I woke up eager to get started on the day. Routines #1 and #2 were finished before I went out the door to walk. I played in the flower garden at church watering and trimming. I cut 2 big armfuls of overgrown shrub branches and carried them to trash dumpster. This garden has such beautiful flowers & shrubs in so many assorted colors and shades. I am fascinated by the variety and how each individual one looks alone as well as the combination of them.
The last several days I have spent time searching for shoes that will fit DS13. I found & ordered one pair a couple of weeks ago, but they won't arrive until the end of July. His toes are sticking out of his current shoes. He has another pair of shoes that he saved for dress, but he might have to start wearing those every day. They will instantly be muddy & dirty. I feel kinda clueless that I can't find size 17 mens shoes. I used to be able to find New Balance brand in that size but now I can't find any. I know there must be a store that carries them, but we have been unable to find one.

We're a busy group this morning! I walked only three laps I think. It's muggy out so I took it easy, even tho the sun isn't out. I'm playing with different breakfasts - our dfriend who came to the beach with us in May ate a salad with breakfast to get some additional veggies in. I tried it this a.m. with lox (smoked salmon) greek yogurt with "everything" bagel seasoning and strawberries. The greek yogurt makes a credible replacement for cream cheese with the seasoning. Last year for our break the fast at home I made romaine lettuce boats with cream cheese, lox and everything bagel seasoning and that was yummy!
We have friends coming for dinner tonight. We were hoping their new kitchen would be done and we could go there but not to be. They're still using a card table so we'll cook for them. I think we're doing pork loin - maybe on the grill - sweet potatoes and green salad perhaps. My house is in good shape because dcleaning lady was here yesterday.
Dh isn't home from torah study yet.

have fun with your friends, d twins.
------------------------------------
dishes emptied and refilled and turned on - I need to start doing dishes and cleaning sink at night. I have been letting this go.
dogs are having a ball in the rain
counters are emptied
Next right thing: rinse counters - rinse stove
vacuum floor
bona rinse floor.
pull dog food for tonight for dd older to give dogs as she is not going to the party.
Struggling to let go of my complete works of Shakespeare from 1936 - no one wants it on fb market place
I know I won't read it - I have had it for 30 years and haven't read it. I tend to listen to it on audible or YouTube or go to a play. I have to let it go.
I know it is funny but I have a hard time tossing it and our library does not accept books anymore.
