Still HOT so let's be COOL. I don't know how LadyM does it. Congrats again on the anniversary and the time spent in a COOL movie theatre!

He was very cool when we broke the window, and didn't yell or get mad.
Stay/Keep cool (= do not become angry or excited).

Workers won't be here this a.m. but in afternoon. Made a decision about lighting. Dh is fussy with me because I told him that I need to be able to make some decisions without him coming home and telling me something different. Home renovation brings out control issues for both of us.

I am going to use the morning to do some things downstairs.

I welcome all the cool thoughts and actions. I really like the cool factor that comes with being calm and not worried or frightened; not influenced by strong feeling of any kind:

Skippable chatter about heat....
I am sure RR could teach us all a few tricks for surviving the heat. Yesterday the weatherman took a temperature reading of the seats in his vehicle.....they were 181F. It matters where and what angle from the sun you park your vehicle. Is there any shade available? No matter how far away from the door of my destination, I always park under the shade if it is available. If there is no shade, then I pick a parking spot that has the front window facing away from the sun. All our vehicles have the side and back windows tinted to reduce the heat.

When we arrive home last night one of DD11 rabbits had died. We had some tears, hugs and then a mini funeral for it and buried it under the tree. The kids are doing a really excellent job of making sure the rabbits always have cool water and food. We don't know if it died from the heat, but that is our best guess.

Today we are headed toward 109 however....a biggie....we are supposed to have some clouds this afternoon. That will help immensely.

This morning the temperature in my bathroom was 88F. I opened both nearby doors to get a cross wind hoping for a cool night time breeze but it was already 90f outside. Worse....a frog came inside! I'm a big baby and not brave with handling frogs. The frog was between me and the door to the house, so I was trapped. (yes a bit of drama overload!) I called DH on the phone and asked him to come rescue me from the big bad frog. He carefully shushed it back outside. No frogs were harmed in my not cool drama.

Drilling downstairs but I'm upstairs now, so it's COOL.

Thanks for the tips, LadyM. I usually try to park in shade or at least turn my car facing away from the sun. Then, again, I don't go out of the house much. I need a few groceries. Might order Instacart.

Ds13 boss is on a mini vacation with his family. DS13 typically works alongside his boss. I asked DS13 if he was going to take some time off from work while his boss was gone, and he instantly said, "I want to work." I asked DS13 what he was going to do on his own while his boss was gone. DS13 reply….
** First, I am going to get the trailer loaded with siding and take it to Shelby (the current house being remodeled).
** Then I'm getting the steamer trailer from Markley and delivering it to Shelby.
** Then I'm getting a load of dirt (using backhoe bucket) and delivering it to the guy that lives next to the school
** Then I'm going to The Judge house and moving a stove from his home to his rent house. (DS13 will pick up Ramon from Shelby to help him move it)
** Then I'm going to Wanda's house and adjusting her yard sprinklers.
** Then I'll start mowing and weedeating. I'm behind on all the properties.
I continued to be astonished at his work ethic and abilities.

I have gotten up at a good time 5 and it was stuffy in the house I opened up the windows and turned on fans.
Folded load that was in the dryer.
57* - 100* today's temps. almost chilly inside now that I opened the house up.
Wishing Rx place opened earlier & others I go to regularly. Some may get skipped... just saying.
I weeded the W. side of the house then walked ddog.
other a. m. stuff got accomplished.
I have planned leftovers today.
Desk duty today is lined up.

Wondering about Dee and her dh this morning and hoping all is well with them.

LadyM, I'm so impressed with your son. A lot of grown men couldn't be trusted with that list.

I'm on a COOL down break in front of fan with glass of iced tea. I walked and trimmed two arm loads of branches from shrubs and trees. Having cloud cover makes an ENORMOUS difference in how it feels outside. It was 99F but felt almost comfortable.

That is an excellent idea! Thanks for sharing it. We put ice cubes in their water bowls/bottles, but I had not thought of putting a frozen gallon jug in their cages.

My goal for today is to complete all my SHE cards that are due today. This almost never happens.

Nancy, that sounds like a good idea to do for the poor animals out in all this heat. Not many people have their pets outside here, but there are always some. My cousin who lives in Arizona does not go out of her house in this weather. If she goes out for something, she leaves in her a/c car from the garage. She does not even go out to get her mail in the heat of the day.

I have been busy so far today. Got 2 LOL done and the one in the dryer has been folded up and put away. I refolded blankets, quilts and re- packed the chest which holds them. 1 LOL hanging up outside. You'd think things would dry quickly in this weather, but we have so much humidity it often takes a day and a half.

PUPA, kitchen, bedroom, master bedroom. Desk tidied up. QT done. I've finished the devotional book I read so had to start something new today. I already miss the one I was reading so I might go through it again. Lots of wisdom in that one. Streams in the Desert, if anybody is interested.

Oh how do I want to work outside but I have someone coming for my cpap machine installation - whatever that means

I woke up feeling stressed and overwhelmed. I wrote the things down that are visually overwhelming me (work) and wrote on the other side - what I actually can do. That gave me a bit of relief to know I can do something but can't do everything!

I went to the vet to have older dogs ear checked - $206 wow

Alrighty - time to address what is causing me stress. Writing it down has helped me - baby steps.

What's the worst thing:
the river of dog hair, now more of an ocean, (I didn't vacuum yesterday) - What can I do?: vacuum, brush dogs outside before they come in for the night.
